I'm a US Citizen living in China. My girlfriend was refused for a second time yesterday in Shanghai. I had wanted to take her to my hometown to see a solar eclipse happening in April. The plan was to only go for a couple of days. She was completely honest on the form and with her answers. I wrote a letter of recommendation and wrote an email to the consulate ahead of time. According to her, the officer glanced at but did not read the letter I wrote or open my passport which I provided (full of Chinese residence permits intended to say that I am settled in China) Here's what she was asked: Why will you go? to see a solar eclipse in my boyfriend's hometown Your boyfriend is an American citizen? Yes, but he's been living in China for 4 and a half years. What do you do for work? I work in sales at (a company that handles international sales of plastic molding equipment) What countries have you been to? Uzbekistan and South Korea 214(b)! Can you read the invitation letter? (shakes head, holds up hand with a smug smile on his stupid face) "It won't change the result." This is so frustrating! We both have a better life in China. I make more money, I spend less money, she owns a home and had proof, he didn't check or care. She owns a car, he didn't care. She has a full time job, he didn't care. All her family is in China and they have all told her that they don't want her to leave. There's no place on the form for these things and they don't ask about it! What can we do? What can she do? We still want to travel to my hometown during holidays in the future.

My visa got refused today and I guess the reason was not enough salary of mother I stated 6000$ as salary and additional 6000$ as rental income.. Can I fix it next time ..kindly help me😢

Hi, after receiving a copy of my DS-160 form, I figured out that I have an error. I accidentally put 171 days for my intended length of stay but eventually, I will just stay there for just 30 days. Because I thought I need to put the exact maximum 180 for staying. I am a first time traveller outside my country. What should I do about this? thank you in advance to some will help me. :)
