Lost count of the number of times I turned out of there between 1973 and 1994. Nice to come across this, brings back lots of memories from the days of the old Rolls Dennis water tender ladder, the ERF water tender, the white TK Bedford E.T and the MerryweatherTL built on the same chassis as the London buses i believe. And not forgetting the station spare.... a green goddess, eventually painted red, I think the reg was NYR 82 but after 50 years i could be a bit out on that one.

guessing the rescue truck was out of service and using a pickup to fill in,,, frigging shame that the DoD has become so WOKE in the old days fighting fires and saving lives, property and the environment were the priority. That's a really big ARFF truck for a class 3 airport.

Any place that can afford all of that nice equipment and a big station like that can afford professional firefighters.
