Good analysis video. I'll always love this movie even if it doesn't reach the original. It's still a great sequel that builds on the original story and expands it with new themes, news ideas and new challenges for the characters rather than repating the same events of the first movie but in space.

Very good analysis of this movie. As someone who’s been a fan of this franchise since 2016 and only recently watched the film this year, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this film is a lot better than people give it credit for. And you did it much justice here👍

Highly recommend watching Pluto after seeing this movie, both stories have similar themes of how AI consciousness might evolve in the future and how human society chooses to deal with it. However, I believe Pluto takes the concept a step further than The Creator did and really explores a lot of the things you were wishing this movie could’ve done, with the added bonus of there being multiple episodes so there’s a lot more to unpack in terms of side characters and plotlines that reflect back on the main theme of the show.

It was fun seeing a more nuanced take on the story, and especially Rayman. A lot of the commentary is around this is usually more focused on the absurdity.

Something else about Rayman's arc that everyone seems to forget: It's also the main character's backstory. Dolph Laserhawk was an orphan that was given a second chance and became a Captain in EDEN's military, and the focus of the much-coveted cyborg soldier program. And like Rayman, Dolph was eventually disillusioned and saw the truth.

First things first: Today I discovered the show, and the last thing I expected to see today is Rayman, the family friendly mascot from my second favourite (can't beat the bandicoot, although Rayman came close) game franchise, drinking himself into oblivion and swearing like a sailor. Second things second: I'm just saying, if Rayman used some of his abilities from the original trilogy, I think there wouldn't be much of a fight from his enemies. Imagine the Heavy Metal Fist ability from Rayman 3, or the Shock Rocket, or Vortex, or anything from Rayman 3. Man, Rayman was OP back in that game.

You're definitely right about trying to also enjoy your own work. I set up my Tumblr page that also doubles as my main website as a full archive of my work going as far back as 2005, and the tumblr theme has all the tumblr numbers and reblog/like buttons removed so none of that is in my face. Sometimes I like to see what things I made under a certain tag and it can inspire me to produce something else of that tag/character etc or even a re-draw of it to see how much I have improved. I'm proud of the volume of work I have made over the years regardless of the social numbers.
