Access trail to Bendethera Valley campground (unedited footage)
Просмотров 2685 лет назад
This is the footage of the track between Bendethera Valley campground in Deua National Park and Snowball on the west side of the park (leaving the campground). This is boring but it might be useful for those who are wondering if their 4wd skills are up for it. The trail is a bit harder on this side than the other side with some seriously steep sections but most of the track surface is smooth so...

This is an unedited footage of the access trail to the Bendethera Valley campground in Deua National Park from Moruya. This is boring but it might be useful for those who are wondering if their 4wd skills are up for it. The track is fairly easy, with a few steep sections and a couple river crossing. Due to the current drought, the trail was very dry and the river crossing very low, making it ev...
Access road to McIntyres campground in Brindabella National Park (unedited footage)

Unedited video of last part of access road to McIntyres campground (departing from campground). This is boring but it might be useful for those who are wondering if their 4wd skills are up for it. This is only the last part of the McIntyres trail but the steepest part. It can be done fairly easily in the dry with low range and a reasonable clearance. The campground is really nice, close to the ...
Access to Burralow Creek campground, Blue Mountains National Park (unedited footage)

This is a 30 min unedited footage of the track from the Burralow Creek campground to the road in the Blue Mountains National Park. This is boring but it might be useful for those who are wondering if their 4wd skills are up for it. It is slightly steep in parts but not too hard if you are careful with wheel placement.

This is a statement : cyclists exist, we are plenty and for one night, we own the roads. I am not the organizer, was simply a participant. But I truly believe this is something that city needs.

      I think this was Paterson. Access from Bells Line of Rd between Bilpin and Kurrajong

    Did you go check out Lowells Flat campground and if so how far away is it? They look close on the map.

    Hey mate ! Do you know what time the gates shut at this place ? I want to leave straight after work but I don’t want to get there and the gates are shut

    • @TristanNicolas
      @TristanNicolas 2 года назад

      No idea sorry. I actually did not think it would close at night, I assumed the gate would only close when they close the tracks. Best to call the national parks to verify?

    Really helpful when planning a trip, thanks for taking the time to upload this. Do you know how deep the river crossings are roughly? Seems like maybe 20cm in the video, but you mentioned it's quite low.

    • @TristanNicolas
      @TristanNicolas 2 года назад

      This was during the drought and at the time, it was no more than 25cm but I guess it could be a lot more now with all the rain.

    It's a lot of fun especially when it gets a bit broken up.

    29:20 Ouch! your poor camera! Thanks for sharing this video, very helpful in getting an idea of what the road is like.

    • @TristanNicolas
      @TristanNicolas 3 года назад

      Yeah.. I learned that I needed to invest in good mounts as a good camera on bad mounts is an expensive mistake.. That video was shot some time ago, I drove it a few months later and it was easier but with the recent rain, it could be very different so I would not trust that video so much.

    so it takes about 50mins from the entrance to the campgrounds?

    • @TristanNicolas
      @TristanNicolas 3 года назад

      It depends what you consider the entrance.. I don't remember well when I turned on the camera. It must have been when the dirt road started.

      Also depends on which side you are coming from. Check the description for more details.

    I drove it in a challenger the other day and I was genuinely terrified

    • @TristanNicolas

      It is quite steep, the footage does not show it well. Did you have a good time otherwise?

      @@TristanNicolas I’m fairly novice with four wheel drives and I only have a challenger. It was by far the toughest drive I’ve ever done but I got a great sense of achievement out of it. I only spent about 30 minutes down there so I should go back to explore more one day

    • @TristanNicolas
      @TristanNicolas 4 года назад

      @@toddavis8151 it is definitely scary and an achievement! I find going downhill the scariest for some reason. I just asked my partner and she remembers well being terrified that day! I am not familiar with the Challenger but the advice is generally to engage 1st gear low range to use engine braking as much as possible and not use brakes much so you don't risk sliding sideways. The river down there is quite nice, the campground is big enough to be quiet and we saw wombats at night. I look forward to going back myself :)
