An old video we found in our archives, circa 1991, of Jeff Pevar performing an original acoustic tune.
sos muy capo Jeff¡¡
So f’n talented!
A true master of funny faces
I MET HIM TODAY, IT WAS FANTASTIC, he played a song with my pick
Hi Jeff 👋
I lived across the street from Jeff for 5 years...
Proves you do not need a pick!
@@charlesrichter3854 exactly! The more versatile the player the better!
Amazing
Nothing but *music*. Jeff, your playing throughout CPR and your trio makes me feel things only matched by my hero Allan Holdsworth. Did you ever get to see him perform?
320 likes and 38,000 views.duh?
You're killing me Peev
Soul- and tasteful playing. That run starting at 1:50 - 1:55 really got to me. Distinguishes an extraordinary player from the masses. The entire performance is played in the spirit of Hendrix. What a great feel. Fans of this type of playing might also enjoy Joe Caro with the Met Band playing Strawberry Fields. Thank you Jeff. ruclips.net/video/2OEzN01GG3I/видео.html
VERY GOOD !!!!!!!!!
This guys was found by me demoing a es339. Fucking great soulful player.
Thank you sir!
so very beautiful Jefferson....
Wow, this is great, hadn't heard of Jeff Pevar until just now!!
Absolutely brilliant and definitely the best version of Jimi's song that I've ever heard. I think I achieved a state of ecstasy just listening to it. I don't think any guitarist around today could play this better not even Eric Gales. I thought Jeff's voice was pretty good as well. I knew Jeff was a top flight guitarist but he ascended into the clouds on this one.
Wow...thank you...
Only Jeff and Jeff Beck can pull tone out of a Fender like that. Could it be no pick allowed?
So nice to see him sing as well 👍 and what a genius guitar player, wow! The intro alone blew me away! Amazing!
David taught him how to sing.
Great technical mastery and knowledge of the guitar, but I don't dig fancy versions of this song as done here or by Eric Gales. This treatment is overdone, in my opinion. Jimi was to-the-point and elegant in his simplicity. You don't have to breathe down the spine of Little Wing to get her to sing. Give her some space to breathe. Less is more. Go home and read Dr. Seuss. If I ran the zoo I'd bring home something more ethereal and dreamy. Imagination is not measured in note count or harmonic complexity. Blah blah woof woof. ruclips.net/video/ibbE0mdDao4/видео.html
Yea .. But .. YOU , don't "run the zoo" .. do YOU? ~~~ Nothin' wrong with "fancy" .. I happen to like "fancy" .. even in versions of Little Wing.
I don't disagree with you Angelcp..... Less is more always....my fav players can do more with one note than most...BB King, Albert King...etc ,,,but that being said, in the "heat of the moment" I'm not thinking about what I'm playing, wether it's too much or little...I've learned after 50 years of playing guitar the last thing you wanna do is think about it...,...I'm just playing...so in the end it's just artistic expression, amigo...and that's one of the reasons why people go to live concerts....they want to feel what it's like to experience the moment...watch someone walk the tightrope..... if you listen to a lot of my recorded solos on records (and sometimes live too) I often adhere to a less is more approach, which is why Ray Charles, David Crosby, (and the list goes on), invite me to play on some of their records....but LIVE is different...I'm not TRYING to think...and playing SOLO is another vibe altogether..... I'm TRYING NOT TO THINK.....so in that concept maybe you can see that I'm just sort of letting the guitar play me....so while I agree with your opinion that the song doesn't NEED a lot of notes, , I also have to plead innocent ....cause the moment MADE me do it, bro...ha ha... I was just an innocent bystander. I hope you can dig where this is coming from...as you know, Jimi also flew off the handle once to twice....and most of my favorites do too... I like that people take chances...and that's all that stuff was....I had no idea what the hell I was doing...it's a moment that happens and it's gone forever....that's LIVE! It's not supposed to be assessed...but I see you feel it important to do so, even in your own seemingly and ever so slightly, condescending way but that's ok because I honor people's honesty and ..while I don't disagree with your point at all I appreciate the opportunity to communicate about it here....... when it's live, it's supposed to go out and it's over...done......this just happened to be recorded and put on RUclips by my friend who volunteered to record this performance......It's obviously that you didn't enjoy it ...fortunately over 33,000 views I have a feeling a few might have and in the end..thats who I'm playing for anyway....as we are only here for a grain of sand....and castles made of sand...fall into the sea...eventually. Sending my best, amigo. We should all try to do ourselves a favor and find a way to enjoy every moment. JP
@@peevmania I'm one of the the 33,000 who took flight at as well. On the wing so to speak...so glad to see the sky trails band under the big top...in Chetaqua...1 year ago.
@@vibefrequencyable Thank you my friend!
Was this a house concert in Ashland?
This was a recording studio in Hartford my friend Doug Kupper owned at the time
Jeff Pevar is the man.
Hey there Jeff, discovered your playing during CPR period, many folks I'd turn to and say, "Hey, who do you think this is?" Anyway, none knew but would soon tell me they soon got the CD and love it. I have always loved your tone, was at the gym when "At the Edge" comes on my player, and those spicy, warm licks take me in man. I'm an avg guitar player, recently got back into a band and they like my playing, leads as well. I'm happy to be in a band. My Quest continues to be?: To discover a tone that I'm happy with. I'm not that experienced with Pedals or Amps. I'm still in experimental stage and ready to sell all the one's I have and keep searching. HELP!! Ha! So far I've tried and have: JCM 2000 DSL 401 Combo: Don't like the sound, thin, no warmth, etc Bogner 40/20 Alchemist, Combo, weighs a lot, shocked that it sounded different, crappy, in a couple of studio's I played in, weird. Vox AD30VT, Combo, basically an at home practice amp, weird that it get better sound than the others. Bottom Line: Can you suggest an Amp, 30-40 watt range, that you'd enjoy doing small gigs with, and I want to set up a Pedal Board finally! Really wish I could see your Pedal Board Set up in this picture? I Love the small Wah Wah that you kicked in for some tasty leads. Also, would love to know when and where you may perform in the North San Fran Bay Area,? I'm in Cotati, CA. NOTE: AMP Suggestion, and your Pedal Board Set up, Pix, Info Please! Smiles, Paul Lashley, Email: Goneraftn@aol.com Yup, I'm a rafting enthusiast with all the River Gear, 14 ft Avon, love to Row Rivers. I hear you've lived in S. Oregon, a Fav river of our is rowing the wirld n scenic section of the Rogue, near where you live or lived. (Pls provide a current rundown of your Petalboard Rig if you will! I know you've Promoted real tone Fat Larry pedal in the past. I also heard u make that Wah pedal of yours scream out with the tone you had while demo ing the Fat Larry, just couldn't quite make out your effects pedals cuz they were upside down on the screen. I'll keep looking and listening, Paul
Hey Paul. Thanks for the note! Check out some of our shows we are streaming from our home!
Extraordinario! Pero le hace falta una banda detrás para redondear esta obra de arte. Esta canción necesita un bajo y una batería
magnificent hands on the guitar...
wow thank you sir
recording sounds distorted nice playing though
Make it look as easy as breathing out.
Cannot sing...too bad, playing is OK!
Dude! Feel free to leave your thoughtful, and supportive comments like this elsewhere.
Dude I happen to think the vocals are as fucking soulful and beautiful as the the fucking genius rendition on guitar..fuck off duschbag
Raja Watts. Let’s see you do as well! Lmao
@@peevmania Nobody wants to hear a perceived ineffectual performance, I know I hate it also , but a bitter pill of honest impression, would it be better if I lied or said something to stroke your ego? Sorry, I listened, gave it my best impression. We all don't like the same things, tones , lyrics, songs, and so forth, sorry, I hurt you! I've actually listened and liked one of your recordings and thought it creative, impressive, but I know it is hard to please everyone, with everything we present, that is the truth ...I have to accept the opinions of others if I don't like something/anything I put effort into. I still try to do the best I can, as I'm sure you do also each time you work/play. apologies that so many are wounded by an honest opinion of something presented, I don't often write any comments, but I see this concern was equal to not being able to state one's honest opinion.
@@rajawatts1141 Well stated. I learned a long time ago that ya just can't please everyone..... and I am totally fine with that, as I am very grateful there are many people who enjoy my offerings.....yet, for discussions sake.... are you really accomplishing something of true value putting anyone's efforts down? This always eludes me when I see this "behavior"...Does it make you feel "empowered" or justified to be unconcerned with how your comments might make someone who shares their art, feel? I'm curious what you do with your life choices, and if you might have the same courage to put your own life's work on the chopping block. I will assume that you don't...but if you did, would you appreciate someone telling you that you suck in a public forum? I'm guessing not. Artistry/music comes from a very vulnerable place...To have the courage to get up in front of people with only what you have to give, and offer out self expression/love/truth in this crazy world.... it's sort of a combination of sharing your joy while "ripping your guts out and popping it on a stick" for all to see. While the intention of your honest assessment could be taken as somewhat of a "respectable offering" in itself, when doing so, knowing that your words can disappoint, embarrass and/or even hurt others, then I wonder what is your true intention with that so called "offering"? Normally I don't look at "reviews" for reasons such as this or respond..but this time I am...and the only reason I am taking the time is to appeal to anyone and everyone like you, who seems to get some strange type of enjoyment out of saying things that are uncomplimentary to people who might be offering out their own unique moment of self expression is, maybe the next time you feel it important to put people down .. are you really accomplishing something of value? Does it make you "happy" to negate others attempts? Obviously I have nothing to offer you... if this conversation means anything.... please consider to simply be kind to your fellow human being and if you don't enjoy something ...you also have the option to move on without being abusive.... just a thought.... maybe too "utopian-istic" for you but nonetheless I felt it worth my time to say. Wishing you health safety and wishing more joy for us all...please!
I never get tired of watching this. One of my favorite songs, whether by Pevar, SRV, or Hendrix. Jeff has the fastest fingers in the East !
A beautiful lesson every time I watch Jeff play.
Thank you sir!
wOw
grew up with this guy he and his buddy stole the guy who played in my first band lol
Stole what?
@@felixlgq I guess somebody stole a guy...whatever that means...I wonder....did they ever return the guy?
Also Tom Chapin would be there too at the 880. He was really good.
Tom was a master! Those were great times!
I used to play downtown all the time in the later 70's. We used to backup the Shaboo Allstars a few times. The only time I talked to him. I used to be at the jam at the 880 on Sunday. I saw him a few times there. A real good blues player. There would be me, Roger Wilks on tenor, real good player. And we all hit the changes. It was fun. And a lot of ego. Dapalmas , Matt the Lurch. He was funny.
Street Temperature !! 880 Club, one of my fathers favorite places in the 80's.
@@jubenville00 me too!
@@peevmania My father got me in a few times in my early teens just so I could witness the talent and experience those magical moments. You and all the guys inspired to me to practice and jam as much as I could, those were some of the best times of my life for sure!
WAY Cool!
Jeff is such a passionate player. Love when he gigs the home state of CT. He is a nice man too.
Thank you! Wish I could get back east but Covid..... instead we are streaming shows out of our home! Check out some of our recent Stone House shows!
Looking at older videos of him, there's a sense that he's shed a lot of old layers. I bet he's on a conscious spiritual path.
Getting married to a beautiful woman will do that. Thank you!
simply peevalicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Steve!
This is amazing! I was turned on to you by Jason Price-
Bang on the nail. Luv Little Blind Fish. His early style provides the basics!
Thought I'd check out what Cindy & Debbie & always find drawn to hear from their old high school buddie -Not too bad to my senior ears even though I usually prefer my oldies - The Big Bands!! their Mom
Awesome!
The wife and I were able to attend...masterful...wonderful evening of stories . Thanks for sharing . :)
Proud to say I was there to see it in person.
