You obviously don't have kids. Babies don't learn by immersion. Also CI theory is not proven at all. Its just a discredited whacko hypothesis that has a lot of popularity thesedays. I suggest you read some actual science research on linguistics and pedagogy.
How many languages have you learned so far? Is it more than 7? In that case please do share your superior method. I'm just sharing my own method which has helped me learn many languages within an average time of 6 months, while attaining a very high level (many people think I'm a native speaker of french and Italian). And if you don't believe me feel free to check out my video in which I speak those languages and then you can criticise my skills in each :)
@BeyondBrainWavesYT 6 months? you are full of it.
Hello! Idk if you had ever made a video about this, but could you make a video about how you could use your languages to make money? I've been a follower of your account since 2017 and had been learning my languages respectively. I honestly had lost hope of even continuing this journey at this point because I feel incompetent against like job requirements. C1 etc, certificates to get into entry level jobs. I was hoping if you could share your experience about this, and how you could get a job. with my languages i'm at best in the lower intermediate, and upper intermediate level but I honestly can't find a job despite learning languages for these long.
Hi! Thanks for the suggestion! That's a really good idea and I'd like to do a video about that soon. Do you suggest I should make a video about how to learn languages to get a job or how to earn money with languages you know in general? I hope you enjoyed the video. Happy Holidays!
An excellent video. It’s honestly such a simple piece of advice, but the way you explain how and why it works was very helpful and informative. Great job!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
This is great - makes so much sense when you think about it. Really excited to give this method a try!
I'm glad you found it useful! Which language do you want to learn?
It might be time to give Spanish another go! And then maybe French so I can know when people are talking smack about me in Canada!
Maybe I should do a video about how I learned french in that case!
Great video! I've tried some of these tips, but never stuck with them, and have been in Duolingo purgatory for years 🦉
Thanks! I know it's tough at first, but you just have to trust the process and stay consistent. Also maybe you should try Anki instead of Duolingo.
Very interesting! Definitely not enough conversation about this topic in the states - thanks for shining a light and helping to shake the stigma!
Glad you found it interesting! Thanks for your support :)
Really excellent video on a pretty poignant topic. You’re totally right, psych wards have a really negative stigma. It’s hard not to picture empty white halls with seclusion rooms lining the walls. Hearing a first-hand perspective from the inside is really interesting.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
Quite a different system in the uk, two doctors and a social worker can detain you. The mental health team inside and outside of the ward lack any sort of acountability. So much so people ending themselves are allowed to happen unfettered and violent pateints are often let out in the middle of crisis , and if it all goes wrong and someone does end themselves or someone else they just claim they were sane all along. The ward staff indulge in goading and provoking patients and draconion measures are emplyed when they eventually kick off. People are left to it at the discretion of the proffesionals, without evaulation or assesment they will either choose to help you or not. You make a complaint about any of this and is likely you'll find both your mental health being ignored and your physical health to boot.
Thanks for you input! I didn't know any of this, even though I've heard quite a few bad things about the NHS... For suicidal patients we have a suicidality protocoll that must be filled out, a new one every 15min, ensuring frequent check ups on patients.
@@BeyondBrainWavesYT If you are suicidal over here you have the option to either phone the crisis line, whose responses vary from telling you we can't stop you or take a bath go for a walk. Go to A&E and get sent home. If you make an attempt you'll end up in A&E sometimes you may be assesed by the phychiatric liason team, sent home to wait for a follow up that might happen a week or two later. They will also at this point say your mental health is fine, just in case you actually do it at some point, this act absolves them of any acountability.
Great video! Really goes to show how deep the trauma of the "asylum" runs. I feel like a lot of the stigma sources from very real abuse which took place in asylums, which are not comparable to actual modern places of medicine.
Thanks! I absolutely agree. However, the abuse used to take place in other branches of medicine as well, such as surgery. However, psychiatry has received much more stigma than other branches.
@BeyondBrainWavesYT that makes sense! I am curious to hear more about electric therapy, as I think there's a lot of stigma around that in particular.
Will do! Thanks for the support! 😊
Just my personal opinion , but I personally couldn’t take you seriously with your long hair, not what I would expect from a doctor
Good for you, however I think judging by content instead of looks makes more sense
Really engaging story. Working with a lot of non-verbal kids who struggle a lot with self-regulation, it’s always interesting to see how they process their actions *after* the meltdown. Just like the man in your story, they may have a very difficult time controlling themselves in the moment, but they’re aware of it and usually want to make it right. Great video!
Thanks! I appreciate your work, because these people need the most help and care after all.
That's a wild story! Great advice though. Also reminded me of the anime/manga Monster. If you haven't seen/read it I highly recommend, I think as a doctor you would dig it.
I have watched it! It's a great story. I also have a somewhat personal connection to it since I'm from Düsseldorf, where the story takes place in the beginning. Also my dad worked in the same hospital in the same department at the same time as Dr. Tenma. If he existed they would have been coworkers :)
@@BeyondBrainWavesYT wow that's awesome!
Fascinating. Can't imagine experiencing that in real time. You doctors are something else. Glad you're OK and hopefully don't have too much lingering trauma from it!
Thanks! No worries I'm totally fine and it hasn't had any permanent negative consequences for me. There's far worse that can happen to someone. What I'm the most glad about is that the patient could recover well.
Incredibly interesting video as always!
@@frankstuff223 Thanks! I'm really glad you enjoyed it :)

Hello there
Hi :)
I’m a special education teacher in the US, and I primarily work with nonverbal students on the Autism Spectrum. Navigating, supporting, and teaching expressive and receptive language is a HUGE part of my job. This is such a great video on the impact and importance of language development, and it links so well to your previous video. Keep up the amazing work!!
That's super interesting! Your job is very commendable. Thanks so much for the positive feedback :)
Super interesting - obviously learning a new language has its benefits socially but I never realized it literally helps change the makeup of your brain! Going straight to the next video to learn the tips haha
@@KevKageNeedsALife Thanks for the feedback! Gotta optimize our brains as well as we can :)
Great video! My mom had a stroke a few years ago and lives with me now. Since her stroke she's been learning Spanish and spends all day doing lessons. I can absolutely see how much it's helped her recovery. Plus dementia runs in my family, hopefully all the Duolingo lessons I do with my kids pays off 😂
@@amdrag Thanks for your feedback and thanks for your personal story! I hope your mom will keep recovering and that she'll master Spanish fast while having lots of fun with it :) PS. Dementia also runs in my family so I'll need to learn a few more languages still 😅
@@BeyondBrainWavesYT Thank you!
👍👍👍

Awesome 👌
Thanks! I'm glas you enoyede it :)
It's hard to believe that this is one of your first videos because of the thumbnail and video-editing skills.
@@LinguaSerbia Thank you so much for your compliments! It really means a lot. Since I'm new to editing, it always takes a really long time to do so. For the first video it took me hours just to learn how to animate images moving on screen. I'm glad you liked the result and this motivates me to work even harder for the next video! Thanks for watching :)
Impressive video, Damian! I like how you took us through the languages you know in the chronological order you learned them in. You have to let on more about how you immersed yourself in Japanese, cause I'm around N4 level but have lots of trouble understanding spoken Japanese. I spend too much time studying kanji, probably... Also, impressive that you learned Italian and French so fast, well done! I have lots of questions for you but I'll ask them on our podcast. ;)
Thank you so much for your positive feedback, Dimitri! Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to go into the specifics of how I learned each language. I also assumed it would be easier for viewers if I dedicated an entire video just in English for the specifics of how I utilised the immersion method. I'm glad you liked the video and I'm looking forward to talking with you soon :)
@@BeyondBrainWavesYT Did you say on Easy Greek that you learnt all the Kanji in 8 months or was it Katakana?
@@nikpartsanis8892 All the Kanji. Hiragana and Katana took me both about a week to learn.
Nature never fails to relax people. I think most of our anxiety and depression in modern civilization is a result of how we have distanced ourselves and made ourselves distinct from nature.
I totally agree. I believe that a lot of people suffer from how humanity has distanced itself from its biologically engineered roots. I plan on getting more into the details of that in the future. :) Thanks for your input and thanks for watching!
What's the app that you used?
The app I use for spaced repetition is Anki. The Android version is called Ankidroid.
I like the pikachu thing
Thanks 😎🏄🏻♂️
Hi, your journey is very helpful, can you make a video about the resources you used to learn french? Or at least write it here? I'm learning french and I really would appreciate your help, thank you!
I'm really happy that you found this video helpful, Josué! I've got so many things to share about learning french. I didn't have the time to do that in the video and it's too much to write here, but I'm already working doing videos for resources to learn french and all the other languages in this video. I also plan on doing a breakdown of my immersion method routine. So stay tuned if that sounds interesting and helpful to you, cause there's plenty of videos to come :D Thank you again so much for your support, it really means a lot!
@@BeyondBrainWavesYT that's amazing dude, thanks, I'll be following your channel

I plan on going to france for college, I'm in 11t grade so I need to learn it before I go to college, thanks for the advice.
Thanks for the support! I can really identify with you because I also moved to a totally different country for university (which I explain in my other video). Stay tuned for more language learning advice and let me know if I can help you learn french somehow or what kinda videos you would like me to do next. Best of luck!
I could tell you learned Italian in Florence from your Florentine accent, especially when you drop the ‘c’ sound in certain words like “pratica” and “linguistica”. It’s really interesting, great video.
Grazie mille Tommaso! Honestly I tried to speak in a more srandard accent but after recording I noticed that the Florentine accent slipped out and I decided to roll with it 😅 What kinda video would you like me to do next?
WOW Great video, carry on I'm sure it will be great content!!
Thank you so much for the kind words, Abdelrahman! What kind of content would you like to see next? Thanks for your support :)
Great video! Very interested to hear about your dissertation!
@@PetEnrichment Thanks for the support! I will definitely reveal more about it in a future video so stay tuned :)
What language will you learn next? 👀
Who knows? Maybe spanish or portuguese :) Thanks for watching!
Intéressant, instructif, vivement la prochaine vidéo !!
Merci Perrine! Je suis content que tu aies aimé la vidéo :)
Great video! I’m trying to learn Spanish because I want my son to be in our local school’s dual-language program. You should definitely make a full process video (and it’s super cool you did manga translations)! Also, GREAT title and thumbnail. Genuinely hooked me.
Thanks! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video! Stay tuned for the next one :)
Could you guess in what order I speak which language? Let me know if you found this video helpful or interesting! Thanks for watching! :)
Nice tip!
@@frankstuff223 Thanks :)
CO2 fertilization in the last 50 years has increased global vegetation by 30%. Today 2 billion people live exclusively on the increased food production, made possible by man made CO2 emission. Viva CO2.
@@bingbangboom1239 Thank you for your input! Let's hope that global vegetation will keep increasing :)
But just like most things in life it’s about balance. Too little is bad and too much is bad. Furthermore, increqsing CO2 levels will increase global temperatures which isn’t exactly good for plants, especially C3 plants.
@@loreenzo2120 That's absolutely true. Let's just hope that things don't get out of hand. Thanks for your comment!
@@loreenzo2120 You make an assumption which is not proven. You assume CO2 controls temperature. It is the other way around, temperature controls CO2 levels. Just like the beer you drink, if its warm it will be flat with few bubbles and little CO2. However if your beer is cold, it will hold on to CO2 and it will be bubbly. The oceans of Earth release CO2 when they warm up and absorb CO2 when they are cold. So despite human made CO2 emissions continue to raise levels, the last 12 years of temperature data did NOT show any temperature increase. Beside, climate models fail to explain the Minoan, Roman and Medieval warm periods. If they unable to reproduce those temperature increases they MUST be faulty. If those models were accurate, they could predict the future, no matter what starting date you choose.
Would be interested to read the source on that! Because biodiversity is definitely declining.
