Thanks for this and the sock info. My cast is a lot lower on my hand so i dont have much use of my hurt fingers; just wonder how to tie laces with a broken wrist ?
How do you zip up the coat though with one hand? And how do you cope with applying deodorant to the armpit of your good arm please?
Zipping is all about getting it started. Once you do I used casted arm to hold coat down and used good hand to pull zipper. Deodorant was a little more tricky. I got a spray version and got as close as I could to aim the spray. It worked. Check out my other videos on tips. Two more coming soon. Hope you heal fast.

If you have a waterproof lining it is okay. It will air dry or you can use a blow dryer on a cool setting. It actually feels good and relieving.

After a river trip I’d definitely rinse well afterwards. Have a great trip and glad the injury didn’t slow you down.

Nah I js stick my arm out of the shower while I’m washing my hair or sum shaving is the hardest part for me tho since I broke my dominant hand

Apparently I somehow broke my wrist over time? I was writing WAY too much for school (I had no clue that something like that was even possible!)

I currently have one, and the cast tech also used cotton padding which retains a massive amount of water. He’s done just the opposite of what the cast should.
Gosh, if they used cotton, it doesn’t sound like it is a waterproof cast. Not a doctor but never heard that. Anyway, I hope you heal fast. See my other videos for tips and hacks on living with a cast.

I have one right now and have so much dead skin in it
No worries it will clean off when you get it off. Take a wash rag and gently clean. The skin will be a little tender. Watch my other videos for tips I’ve learned.

Thanks for posting this. While I was taking care of other things, my wife took my son to get an urgent care splint changed to a cast. Later, when I talked with him about it, he insisted that he could swim with it and I insisted he couldn't. He then pulled out the pamphlet he was given and showed me and sure enough the cast is "waterproof". I looked to see if there is anyone who posted something to verify and came across this video. Sooooo...I guess we'll give it a go and see how it works!

Something similar happened to me thanks for sharing.
Broke my wrist too the same way. Fracture of the scaploid non displacement im a month in, on my second casting. My doc said 3 more weeks. Good luck healing.
qaud accident here. displaced bone still dont have a cast because I haven't seen a othprodontist

Lucky for you having the use of both hand / fingers. I only have use of one. I can surprisingly tie with the one hand (loosely) then tuck it under the tongue. Luckily I also have the Adidas shoes that the tongue is connected, so if someone ties tight for me, i can slip on and off.
That sling comes with a hot /cold gel pack!!!! Man, i really wish I saw this video before i bought my sling and recently bought a reusable ice bag. Oh well, still not too late to order. Thank you, thank you! Never thought I'd be so excited about a sling & gal pack. 🤣
I'm kind of disappointed in it when I got it maybe I'll get used to it. I wonder if the one side of velcro comes off so that it can be shortened for smaller people / children.
I’m pretty sure you can shorten/adjust it. The Velcro is like a clam shell on one side.
