Nope! It's entirely original code, but it's heavily inspired by, of course. The developers are doing everything in their power to convince you you've been transported back in time to 1999 and logged into EverQuest for the first time. Except without using any of the EQ assets 🙂

A long, long time ago, I bought it on Steam; I only just now got around to playing it. A friend of mine pointed out that it wasn't available on Steam anymore and wasn't on the PlayStation Plus store either. I guess they lost the license or something? UNFORTUNATELY if you want to play it you have to go to eBay and buy it for the XBox or PlayStation 3. If I'd known I probably wouldn't have played it... it was in my Steam library, didn't occur to me to check.

If you're on the Ending D path, you can find it in the curio shop. It won't be there in any of the other paths.

@@tipadaknife to my understanding, the figure in the mirrors/glass was representing one of the circle of 12. the ingame text refered to him as lakimir. lakimir is mentioned in the very beginning of the original NES (and also macintosh) game. they essentially sent you to the entrance of shadowgate where your adventure also begins. since the raven reacted very negatively to you killing the person (i am so bad with names. sorry) i would assume it was all caused by that unseen new force that was literally never seen or heard from before. the best i got about that is that "strike" the character hears in his mind. i would also guess that this person is the other druid that accompanied you with the raven, but i actually checked the glass/mirror images and it stated that it's a figure you don't recognize (before casting the spell and the ending route unfolding). so, as soon as you cast the spell you are essentially starting to be overtaken. which could also mean that the unseen force is also evil despite wanting to kill the warlock lord. also noteworthy how you actually pick up a skull-like item and combine it with the moon stone. your character essentially gets overtaken by a force, seemingly even stronger than the warlock-lord himself. worst of all is that it's most likely just an honest mistake because you, as the character didn't know what they were doing. it's been a while i played the original game, so please take that with a grain of salt :) also sorry if this is a mess to read. i suck really bad with on-the-spot theory and scripting that in a cohesive manner. thank you for reading.

@@N3Selina Lakmir I knew about. I meant the purple phantom in the mansion that, by not being permanently put to rest, goes on to possess you and bring about Ending D.

Sure. I might try for that tomorrow and see if I can get the two hour achievement as well. B-A-C is the current best to worst ranking; I don't know where D falls in there.

That was exactly my problem with D4. Just so grim. I played through D3 a few times because it mixed that all with some hope of salvation. Nothing like that in D4. Yeah, Return to Arms is basically an action RPG. Champions of Norrath wasn't a long game and I don't think Return to Arms would be either (I haven't finished it), but it's cool to see a new perspective on Norrath. Contrast that with EQ Online Adventures, which went a very different way with the same hardware.

Stormhalter is currently the most active Legends of Kesmai game. Lands of Kes, which came out in 2003 is "ask to join" and so its hard to get into currently. Both have active discords and SH has new lands and other modern features.

My sister and I spent like the first twenty minutes of their set going, "That's not Peter Cetera... IS IT?" But I guess he left the band a long time ago.

One of the advantages of this game is you have such a small inventory, there really isn't a LOT of guesswork, though I admit I still haven't figured out the farthing monster... but I have ideas....

It was level 20, and my entire team was in the low to high 30's. I even had a Salazzle.

@@loganbrony130 I think when I entered the DLC, everything seemed like late 50s, so that's what I had. Then I started catching mons from the tera crystals and they came in at 75. I think when I did Ogerpon they were all late 80s early 80s (I guess I should look at the video again). I didn't know the DLC was lower for other trainers. How many gyms had you cleared?

Honestly, I didn't get any main story badges before entering Kitakami. However, I did get the first four badges in the recommended order after realizing I wasn't strong enough to beat Kieran. That's why my Ogrepon, who was a level 20 female by the way, wasn't very strong.

Sure. The solution I used for the puzzle is at github.com/tipa16384/adventofcode/blob/main/2021/monad24.py. It turns out that most of the program we were asked to execute was just cruft, the actual solution was encoded in the program and basically just needed to be read out. @@o-shawnspecific80 The fans are working on it, but it's going really slowly. I need to take another look and catch up to the latest progress.

@@tipadaknife seems like they've gotten the starting areas spells and quests knocked out for a few class/race combos but I don't know which and if you're able to level past 2 yet.

@@o-shawnspecific80 When I played, I was able to do combat and level up, but only to the few mobs spawned in the newbie area. I know there was another server with more NPCs and stuff. Just need more time to go back and play some more :-)
