We're not sure, because you can meet five characters at Chef Mickey's (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto)! So it would be cool if they added Mickey here too! But he is at 'Ohana in a Hawaiian shirt, they should just send him over to this Beach Bash!

That's a great tip, we will definitely have to give that a try! We have watched them from Big Thunder Mountain, Dumbo, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and PeopleMover(briefly!) And those have all been lots of fun too!

Sweet for sure. It's not like a full-blown dessert sweet cornbread but definitely still falls on the sweeter side. It is not buttermilk at all. I would guess they use Jiffy mix and just modify it a bit because it does turn out moister than straight out of the box Jiffy. Hope that answers your question!

Yeah, we wouldn't take our kids again until they are older. While our daughter, Fiona, did laugh at the performers' physical antics, most of the jokes went right over her head. For alcohol drinking adults Hoop-Dee-Doo is a great value but for families with little ones your money is definitely better spent elsewhere. But if you are staying at Fort Wilderness (or even if you're not and can make time for it on your vacation!), definitely go to the campfire sing-a-long, your 3 year would enjoy that more!

I wouldn’t take a child under 10 years old

Yeah, that is probably a good age, give or take a few years if a kid specifically loves live theater. The fun interactive things for kiddos to do like playing the washboard and the parade around the restaurant are during the last couple of minutes of the meal. So it's definitely a show better suited for older kids.

It really comes down to whether meeting Mickey is a dealbreaker or not. Mickey is not at Cape May, but Goofy is and honestly, he is the most fun to meet in our opinion. And our daughter, Fiona, had more fun at Cape May getting to dance with Minnie and Daisy. So if you have little ones in your group we would recommend Cape May, especially since it costs less money for a FULL buffet! The view is beautiful at Topolino's but you make an excellent point about getting a similar view on the Skyliner, it's not quite as impressive(or high) as the restaurant but again if you have kiddos they will probably be having more fun on the Skyliner anyway! We found the nightly rate of $103 to be a quite affordable! The golf cart at $60 a day is a bit pricey, but it really did make the whole trip more enjoyable. We would definitely recommend trying to budget for that to anyone going. As for the activities, we also thought those had a nice range in prices. Canoeing was our favorite thing that we did and it was about $20 for an hour, the pony ride was $10, making slime was $5, and the awesome campfire sing-a-long is free! Now to do ALL of the activities offered would be expensive, but we're guessing most people don't have the desire to or time!

It is very expensive. Which may be worth budgeting if you have a HUGE Pooh and friends fan in your group or if something on the buffet looked really good to you that you want multiple servings of it. But otherwise, you can meet Pooh and Tigger at Magic Kingdom for no extra cost if you are willing to wait in line. And there are lots of good quick service options that are much cheaper where you also get to sit in the A/C while you eat if you need a break. It always comes down to what you feel comfortable spending and whether meeting multiple characters is a priority. Character meals are pricey and you can definitely eat cheaper at Disney and then use that money on other things, like souvenirs or lightning lanes!

Do they sell meat on site if we wanted to grill hamburgers, hotdogs or steaks? Couldn’t find any info on what is sold in the stores around there or prices. Thank you

@@roger4909 That's a great question! The two gift shop/stores at Fort Wilderness sell both hot dogs and hamburgers. The hot dogs are Oscar Mayer beef franks and a ten-pack is $10.49. The hamburgers are a frozen premade brand called Buckhead Pride and appear to be what they buy in bulk for their quick service. They ring up as a '40oz 4pack' but the package we bought actually had five 8oz burgers, at a cost of $7.44.(They were decent enough burgers making it a pretty good deal!) They also had a 12 pack of American cheese for $6.99. An 8 pack of buns were $4.49. There are some breakfast meat items for sale too (Johnsonville sausage links for $5.99, 1lb pack of Oscar Mayer bacon for $14.99, and Egg-Land's Best dozen large eggs for $5.49.) They do also have English muffins and loaves of bread too. We brought our own makings for pizza mountain pies (which we made using the grill) but we did see Oscar Mayer turkey or ham deli meat for $8.99 each if you wanted to make those into a mountain pie. As you can see by the prices, you are definitely paying for convenience but it's nice to know those options are readily available at the resort, and still probably cheaper than quick service if you are feeding a whole family. If you are driving, there is a Wal-Mart close by, as well as Publix. And don't forget about grocery delivery too, if that is something that would work for your trip and you want steak or ground hamburger delivered. Hope this helps!

Our rate was $103 a night in the late spring. The price changes depending on the season and if it's around any major holidays. It can go as low as $72 up to around $150 a night.

After the campfire they do give out free mosquito wipes! We didn't have any issues with bugs. But it was an unusually dry spring so maybe now in the wetter months bugs would be more noticeable!
