@@MocasWorld Thanks, I will look into it. I'm making a dollhouse and trying to figure out ways to make various things like flocked wallpaper and baroque molding etc., since it's a Barbie/Death note themed dollhouse...for Barbie and Death Note crew.

@@MocasWorld I'll try both and see which one works best since some I will be using for a wall, and some will be used for a chair. Yeah, alot of work but totally worth it when it's done. I'll keep you posted as to which one worked best for it. The one for the chair needs to be able to bend alittle so it fits along the frame. That is why I was looking at modeling paste since those look bendable and not like other types of mediums like epoxy or something that dries hard like a rock.

So glad you found it helpful! Not sure how you would damage the mic when you plug it it. Mine works perfectly, as I connected it in the video. I use it several times a week. As soon as I'm done with it, I put the little black dust bag on the mic to keep it dust free, and I unplug the usb that connects the interface to my computer. I keep the mic in the same safe place, so all I need to do is just plug in the usb and open Garageband to record. I always do a test recording before every project, to make sure it's working properly after connecting. I suggest you test a few settings... MOSTLY I use Garageband legacy 👉 podcasting 👉no effects then I export the MP3 .. (on occasion female narrator or female narrator noisy) Just test to see what settings work best for you on your app. Best of luck with the voice recording!

@@safiyaart If the canvas is sturdy, that will eliminate some unnecessary movement of the dried paste. I mentioned how to deal with hairline cracks in the video in the touchups section at 08:13 Also.. as I mentioned in the video, you can apply a coat of crafting glue to seal the dried paste, before painting it. That with the acrylic painting, will help to keep it in tact. The idea is once you've completed the project, it is handled delicately, displayed and not touched.. as you would with any piece of artwork. Of course the only way to know for sure is to actually do it. Let me know how your project turns out please.

Thanks for the positive feedback! I've found, of all the orchids I've mounted, phals thrive the best.

Both the leaves AND roots breathe... and some orchids like this Catyleya, have both aerial and regular roots, and they absorb moisture whether they are misted or placed directly into water. A few days of soaking is good enough to rehydrate them. I think it's best to monitor daily and see how the plant is doing.

Yes.. the official language of Jamaica is English, but we also speak Jamaican Patois, which is a variation of English mixed with other influences.

Corn flour is likely more absorbent than baby powder or cornstarch, and you would have to use the really finely grounded one, to have a similar texture. The only way to know for sure if it will work, is to try to make a small batch to test it. If you do, pls let me know how it turns out.

From my experience, no, it's not flexible when it dries. And it's best not to handle it too much after the project is completed. The paste will however adhere to just about any surface, even curved ones.

I've never tried it personally but if it's shallow, I think it may work. Just handle with care as it will likely be delicate. Please let me know if you try it.

By "box" do you mean my white M-Audio interface? As far as I know, you need to connect the mic to the interface then into the computer (the interface has the USB that connects to the computer). I don't know if one even exists, but maybe if you can find a local store that sells a USB cable with one end that connects directly from the mic plug? Let them know what you need it to do, and see if they think it would work without the interface. Pls let me know if you do get it to work without the internet face.

The paste is quite durable, as long as you handle your finished project carefully (like a special piece of art), it should last a long time. From my experience, the paste works well on canvas. The only way to know for sure is to just try it. Let me know how it goes if you do try it. ❣️

The mic stand with boom arm was purchased separately. The mic stand came with both a plastic and copper washer to attach the rode mic with shock mount. Hope that's what you mean. @@JacopoGianfreda Correct.. based on my kit that I purchased 3 years ago. That's not to say that more recent kits won't include it.

I didn't notice the smell after I mixed it. It depends on how strong the baby powder scent is in the first place. But after application of the paste then it drying and any further crafting, like painting it, any BP scent would likely be faint at most.

Correct.. adding water is a no-no because it changes the chemical make-up and effectiveness of the paste. Most baby powders are made with some cornstarch. Whatever consistency you get after using the recipe exactly as it is, should work. But if you are doubting it, I suggest testing a very small amount of the paste on your project and allow it to dry completely. If it's too brittle or not to your liking, then add more glue AND acrylic paint in equal amounts. Start with 1 teaspoon of each. Then test it again. Please use a mask so as not to inhale the dust from the powder, when mixing and if you sandpaper the project.

I thought that pulling it off right away, was the cause of it spreading out and not holding its shape. Thank you fellow crafter.

@@jean-63 The paste shouldn't be runny. If it is runny after mixing it, allow it to thicken for an hour or so. (I'd say the consistency is little bit thicker/drier than toothpaste). Store it in a tightly covered glass jar if you have one, because it naturally dries out over time. Since it shouldn't be runny like I said, you should be able to apply it using a stencil then carefully remove the stencil right away. The object you're stenciling should lay flat and let it remain in that position till the paste dries. (Don't fight gravity you know 😉)

Oh no..sorry to hear that I have not had that problem. It may be the type of fabric that naturally shrinks when washed or heat-dried, if you use the dryer, and maybe the heat is too much for it... That would be my guess, but I would reach out to the company's service department and ask them. Pls let me know their response if you do reach out, in case someone else has the same issue. I have not tried it with clear glue. The white glue may give it a different texture/finish than the clear glue, but you could try it. You can also use colored acrylic paint instead of the white acrylic paint. Let me know how it turns out.
