How to make the uk version of light corn syrup, in the uk its called golden syrup without the golden part lol. can someone please help ive had 3 attempts at making this and each time it looked perfect in the pan but when i cooled it down it went gritty at the bottom then crystalised and went solid i followed the video step by step

Ive did the recipe to the specified grams and it hardened on cooling so when I looked back at the recipe I noticed that u had got the grams wrong on the instructions it shud be 180 grams I made it with this dose and ur instrucyions and it came out perfect I can now make my my marshmallow frosting so thanku for the great tips xx

Hi, I think you have made a mistake indicating the quantity of water in grams....3/4 of a cup is 180g (not 85g)...A cup is 240ml=240g...

Cream of tar tar is actually the powdered mixture of Baking soda , Baking powder and Corn starch.
Is there ingredients except cream of tar tar ? Because on my country it is hard to find that. Thanks

I think you can put a quarter of a lemon for every 3 cups of sugar used in the recipe.

Did you measure with cup or did you follow the grams indication? Cause the grams indication of water it's not right
Because in America, where they use corn syrup, it is made from maize and they call that corn.
You are correct, as my mum and I have been making toffee for years using golden syrup and we have always added some vinegar to stop crystals forming. Easy!

No. Baking powder and soda are both alkaline but an acid like cream is needed to avoid crystallization.

can i use this in making macaroons as i always burn the syrup to be added to the beaten egg whites
can this be used for egg whites when making macaroons ? as i have not yet successfully made a sugar syrup without burning it first
