Why are Americans moving here? This country is a warzone according to US media.

You're not really in typhoon alley, most should pass by north even if it doesn't play itself out crossing Luzon. Plus people forget you're in a place that doesn't rely on 100% on modern amenities so what would shut down a U.S. city is an inconvenience there. My biggest concern would be proximity to the Spratly Islands. Still waiting on a gaming update.

I heard your complaints, those are legitimate ones but the country did not choose you to come, YOU chose to stay so all these small inconvenience you are airing now are all based in the life you ARE USED to. Meaning entitlements are still running through your veins. They have a saying that "When in Rome, Do as the Romans Do" Assimilate and adapt, be like water and go with the flow, there will be no abrasions along the way. English language from different countries differ, some American jargon others don't understand so does Americans trying to understand Filipinos what they really meant. When you ADAPT, you are on the right track.

Number one thing to remember when trying to move to the Philippines or any other country as your retirement home, always assimilate and adapt yourself to the country's culture, learn the local language asap (in increments naturally) so as to make your transition very easily. Whatever entitlements you were used to in your home country should be placed in a dumpster because that will be your downfall. Live simple and affordably within your budget, which you will experience a huge monetary savings compared to those Western states that will cost you an arm and a leg starting with housing and foods (notwithstanding all the electronics being used.) Get away from crimes (mass shootings, crimes against property and homelessness. Enjoy your stay, and try to explore the country's scenery and how to really get to know the locals real quick. Be safe always, although the Philippines is considered as a safe haven to live and retire.

This is what bothers me about forieners complaining about everything when they go to another country. Understand this, it's not your country adopting to it or get out it's simple, and no one can have it all.

Try to find on online special spices. Or try to go local market might have there..otherwise there's an store that sale International products. I Hope you find in your area. In the Philippines your patient will be measured. It's a slower phase life there which I like.😂
