She makes English feel brand new, hinting at how foreign and interesting the words felt to her: -eyes and toes. It’s so smoother than Butter. remember her English isn’t native like Jennie’s. so original, because you’ve never heard this combination. Taeyang’s “Eyes, nose, lips”: more basic. she’s talking both dance and bed, but the “eyes” part is so romantic, quietly eliciting the image of eyes locking. *truly poetic: not literally written out scenes* in lyrics. a short yet immediate, eloquent way to convey a range of romantic ways a couple could watch and move together. too literal: Taylor Swift complaining about her ex drinking coffee with her dad. i get that emotion, but also “why are you singing this to me?” -“won’t you flow with me”: imagine saying or hearing this at the right moment to the right person. the English “flow” and “ride” must be terms she learned from her rap days. even as singers step up their rhymes, in country etc. you won’t hear both these words used in a love song. not this way, rapping as metaphor. “ride”: there was Pony, but he don’t connect to riding a beat. how she keeps finding these? -“plaster, mold reap and sow the seed.” sounds odd at first, right? so purely metaphor that’s so unheard of, you don’t get it immediately. lovers touching completely, knowing: like a mold for plaster sculpture, tracing every detail. it's so obvious in hindsight-other singers would want to use it. It’s like “Shape of You,” an eloquence that seems obvious and catchy after hearing it: Taylor used this phrase after Ed. but that’s actually not even a metaphor. literal. basic. “plaster, mold” is even more dense with meaning, more beautiful when you realize what she’s saying. rest of line. not just attraction: fertilize, plant, grow something together. There’s intentionality: stories she’s trying to tell with specific language. that’s lyrical craft. i’m big into lyrics from queen naija to king von, lupe, country “fast car,” Hardy. it’s not epic, vicious, raw emotion or gripping story like that. it’s intellectual, intricately dope, glimpses of more talent than you realize, because it's not showing off like Hyeran herself. or the video where she does clean, hard popping she’s capable of but sadly won’t brag about 😕. she is telling a unique story, and telling it well, you just have listen closely. these lines you highlight your expression of shy sweet, artist girl’s sexuality. it’s easy to “ratchet” up the ratchet. you got actual double entendres that are so tight they don’t click first time around. zico and jennie’s spot: i could hear the lack of chemistry and see the flowchart that led to this on sight.
