Declan Hunt has a hell of a voice. I prefer this melody much more than the more common one, as done by Tommy Makem and others. This one is much more haunting. This particular melody is also much older than most people realise, goes back to at least mid-18th century.
Except that that is Johnny Beggan
Johnny and Deckie both had (and have) great voices along with Shay Walker who also sand with them.

I tried to find out when this song was written and could not find verifiable info. It seems to describe the rising of 1798, and its style I find not reminiscent of other 18th century tunes I know.
