More months please. Can never have enough of her.
This isn’t ossia
Not Ossia
He played the Toccata Cadenza, not Ossia.
I wish we had more footage of young Horowitz. He still aged like the finest of wines, but what young Horowitz accomplished was absolutely insane and makes even his older self look like he was standing still.
The great and enigmatic Horowitz! We will Never hear such Pianistic, musical, intellectual and emotional greatness ever again!
It's the Tocatta cadenza
He missed half notes.
This snippet does not do VH justice,,,watch the complete video and listen to all his earlier performances that are available.
Спасибо! Обожаю Горовица!

Ошеломляющее ,Волшебное исполнение музыки ГЕНИЕМ 🙏 . . .ВОСТОРГ и ВОСХИЩЕНИЕ 😍 ❤️❤️❤️
DAMN!
👍
This sounds like the toccata cadenza, not the ossia
why cut out most of the cadenza lol
The most perfect Porgi Amor ever!!!! This gorgeous sustained legato makes me melt!
This cadenza is not the 'ossia' cadenza. it is the shorter one favored by the composer. This performance of the entire Concerto is available on DVD with Zubin Mehta conducting. Here is the 'ossia' cadenza played by Volodos ruclips.net/video/WC2VEr_6Ivo/видео.html
He's playing the regular cadenza, no ;D?
oh god….never heard so many wrong notes…
This isn't the entire ossia cadenza.
Horowitz never played the ossia cadenza, always the simpler one. And he makes numerous hair-raising mistakes here.
if you said anything negative & weren't like a son to Rachmaninov during his lifetime, i would urge a little reflection.
I love that.....so much......thank you!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Staggering as ever.Proper virtuoso. Imagine him playing Petruska 👀💕⭐🌟 Peerless 🌟🌟💓
Horowitz was much older by this time and had health problems. Its okay, and I certainly can't play it this well, but that is not very clean for someone as great as Vladimir Horowitz. Listen to his recording of the same 1st movement Cadenza in 1951(?) to hear a cleaner performance.
🤣🤣🤣
Nothing and NO one can come between Rachmaninov and Horowitz
Fucking Legendary.
<3
Secondo me era anche molto bello
te dejo mis dieces
Never seen anyone playing so beautifully , sonority
buenísimo Kandu
jaja... una obra de arte! con varios momentos estelares.
Sin comentarios................... jajajaja
lo que me he reído.... buenísimo!!!!
Most men his age, cant even stand up straight
He too)))
Fingers doesn't put up with all the weight of the body, so...
Come suona questo Genio Italiano!
iguarni Benissimo ☺
Interesting to compare this performance with that of Daniel Barenboim. Barenboim seems more expressive, but his interpretations seem merely practiced, whereas Michelangeli's Beethoven is not quite as expressive, but intellectually superior. He also has a more colourful piano technique.
Quel massacre, mon dieu quel massacre. J'espère que le reste de l'interprétation de ce magnifique (mais sombre) concerto est à la hauteur....
wow so many wrong notes. Its a mess I'm afraid
whore-witz is a mess
This video cuts out the entire development section of this movement.
+otonanoC There is a part 2
no, at least 10 very wrong notes!
It's funny that one of VHs biggest fans for this piece was the Rach himself. V was so good that Rach never played it again in concert. Needless to Rach was a mighty good pianist himself. Vs Chopin Ballad I is also considered the best interpretation by many, and his mazurkas, not to mention scriabin. In fact at one time or another just about everything he played was the best ever.
I'd like to know what part of Rachmaninoff's Third ISN'T difficult to play?
The first ten seconds 😂
@@linuseike6041 Thanks! :-)
@@linuseike6041 I swear I wouldn't play properly even those
In another life, maybe I will come back with massive hands. Only then will I attempt to play further than the first few bars!!
@@linuseike6041 actually to really perform those first passages is literally the most pressurizing thing during the concerto... POV: you are starting the most epikkk concerto in human history with a few thousand eyes staring at you, you know its Rachmaninoff so the first few passages directly depicts your interpretation of the first entire movement, you are trying your best musically and you have trained for this your whole life. You start the first few notes............. Basically, that part is the most terrifying part to perform... :O
Difficulty:only you
I totally agree. If someone tells you that something is difficult to play you get insecure and scared of it and you don't want to learn it because of that. I have the same thing if I look at notes and it looks totally difficult I don't even want to try but when I finally try it is reaallyy easy... just because i'm scared of the new things.
inhumane
