Mini twists saved my life. I have extremely thick hair so braids will take two days to unravel 😂😂😂

Am a nursing student, so I do mini braids and rebraid them without taking all of them down, I take down a section and rebraid that section till am done with my whole head, i do add little brazillian wool so i can lose my hair easily 😂😂, i still wash and condition moisturize in the braids, but i dont take out all my braids at once, if i dont do it this way i would never be able to keep my hair because of nursing wahala😭😭

1. Not giving your hair a break in between styles especially styles that require hair extensions, constantly styling your hair a particular way, relaxing and braiding your hair the same day/time,etc All these could lead to breakage or pattern balding which gets bigger as time goes. 2. Excessive heat: you can use heat on your hair with heat protectant but constantly using heat on your hair without a heat protectant or professional help could cause brittle, dry hair with split ends. 3. Over trimming: Average hair growth per month is about 1/2 an inch. Constantly trimming your hair when it’s not needed will only make you cut the same amount of hair growing out monthly or even more which makes your hair remain at the same length or even shorter. Only trim your hair when it’s needed.

I do the same, I braid my hair twice a month, wash once a month and color every two or three months. My hair is growing steadily. Sometimes I see growth when I refresh my hair after two weeks. Steady growth. I wear wigs because I work in an office but I keep my hair braided.

I think you cut off too much. My hair is natural, no perm when I put product on my hair it looks like your niece's. I know her hair will grow back, but I hope she hasn't been traumatised because children are so sensitive.
