My wifi is using that smart connect, where it's only showing my 2.4ghz and not both 2.4 and 5ghz like I previously had... Hard reset work for me, in my Alexa app, it does see the echo, but won't connect...

Insetup is picking up device Echo Dot JD3, it connects to WiFi but it does not connect to the device and the orange/yellow light is turning

I have tried everything but cannot get rid of my orange circular light. My Wi-Fi is ok, I also have Mesh extensions, use iPhone for Alexa App, This Eco Dot was previously connected to another Router, but I change it to my current Router. In the house I have 2 other Alexa Dots that are working OK. Any help, please. The light looks more yellow than orange

There's 3 Dots in my home; intermittently 1 will turn red saying it "Sorry, I'm having trouble understanding right now. Please try a little later." Can only get it to work again by unplugging, replugging. It's not my wifi as the wifi system in this home is overkill! There is 1 extender, 2 meshes coving well over 2000 sqft in this 850 sqft apt. Also, if it was the wifi system, all 3 dots should go down, but it's just 1 at a time goes down and stays down till unplugged. Bought these Dots about 3 years ago. None are exposed to heat or moisture. No issues with them hearing. All 3 are setup as Ziggy (male American voice) when one turns red, it reverts back to the OG Alexa voice; after un/replugged Ziggy comes back without any tweaking from me. Any ideas please? our zebra blinds are an outside mount. With no real room to mount the motor to the inside frame of window. (right now the chain has to come down the side of the wall) Just wonder if this will work? wish I could post a photo.

I had AT&T and switched to infinity and now I can't get Alexa to work no matter who's instructions I follow.

I tried this same trick several times, but it didn't turn out useful. It says to connect to a Wi-Fi starting with Amazon or "There's a problem connecting to the internet."

I have a blue solid ring with green green spinning around and the Alexa won't reset ! Any ideas?

Useless instructions

Hi, I’ve been scouring the internet for a solution to my Alexa problem, and can’t find anything, (I’ve liked and subscribed 👍🏻) We only really use Alexa to play radio channels, but it’s just started to play for a short while then simply stop, when asked to play the station again, she does…. I’ve done all the switch on and off, re set, re install, wi fi router switch off and on, re install Alexa ap, the list goes on with no success. I even have another which I only use to play music via Bluetooth from my phone and tried this….. I hope you can help

my alexa dot would have a blue ring with spinning cyan/teal color. it would go on for hours/days until i would eventually unplug it. i tried EVERYTHING until i used a different power source (a different usb block). she’s finally working brand new!!!😁 the reset buttons wouldn’t work no matter how long i held them, none of it. all i had to do was use a different usb block…wow. so try using a different power source, a nicer block or cord and make sure it’s plugged into the wall not a ps4 or anything. 👍🏻

Awesome Job! I thought all along it was an orange light that was going bright and then dimming, but at the end of your orange light explanation video you mentioned it may be yellow instead. That was exactly my issue. It was a notification that my amazon delivery (which was this echo dot) was coming today. It was driving me nuts as it looked orange to me.

I'm totally confused. The white wire under Alexa, I'm not sure what's the problem. It looks like it's actually broken, I'm not sure. No one ever touches Alexa. It's weird the white wire is out. Not sure where to take it to be repaired. It's very odd. Just stopped playing and the white plug is out. Sorry it's true. I just don't understand what happened. Hellpppp

It's not oranch It's colors

After a brief power outage, all echo devices in the house had blue ring with rotating cyan for over an hour and wouldn't wake with voice command. I power cycled (unplugged) them one at a time to return to normal.

There is no guard mode within the settings tab, as you suggest.

Thanks for this useful tip. Problem fixed. When you go through the steps on Alexa app, slower would be easier to follow. Still, problem gone!

Happy I found your page. I have a different issue though. My dot doesn't hear me almost daily recently. Net is connected but I am unplugging it daily when it stops responding. It might work for 12 hours but then again the same thing the next day. I also had Amazon reset it from their end twice.
