Clean my blocked air conditioning.

This how I cleaned the muck out of my air conditioning in my Landcruiser VDJ76 it had hardly any air flow before I cleaned it. I was very careful not to wet any electrical parts. I also let the car dry out in the sun for about 2 hours before I put it back together.

Chassis rivets
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.11 месяцев назад
This is a video of how I remove and replace solid steel rivets with mushroom heads in older type chassis. I normally do this when I replace a front or rear crossmember, this chassis is not going to be used, it is only to show how I do this kind of work so I just roughly sprayed it with a black spray can to give an idea of how they look when painted. I do not recommend trying this, the tools hav...

This is a video of how I reassembled a door for a Toyota Landcruiser this door was badly damaged before restoration. I have used mostly genuine Toyota parts, restored parts and some aftermarket parts to complete this job. I zinc plated the nuts, bolts and screws as well. The door will be hard to shut for a week or so till the rubber shapes to the door opening.

Top work Simon you’re a master 👍
Thanks David, it was good to meet you on Saturday.
@@toyopatrestorations1588 indeed Simon see you latest next clecs
Great video Simon, makes it look really simple, the inox does the trick no doubt 👍
Thank you so much for such useful videos. As an electrical engineer with keen interest in mechanical engineering, this video helped me understand the rivet fittings better.
good 👍🏼
Great job as always. Did they need to be stainless steel sleeved ?
Awesome work mate!, My reservoir tanks where completely rusted out and fell apart in my hands.
Thanks Jason I have a full restoration video, and will share soon.
I wonder if some clecos would be helpful.

A lot of the guys that restore tools and want to clean rusty parts use a product called CRC Evapo-rust
I think that stuff that I used is a similar product to that. It did work but it was just very slow.

Hi
Great video! I got some questions Where did you get the o-ring from? And did you use exactly 3 bottles of oil?
I love this old girls thanks for the video just like my lc 45
All them flat fins won’t help
Yes but much better without all of muck on them.
What do u use to polish it ? And coat it ?
Nice lcs man thanks for the video I am looking for the filter box for my hj45 great Landcruisers you got
Great to see this best like new i am looking for the air box if some has let me know thanks
Can you tell me what the "lump" on the underside of the pot is? Thanks. Great video!
Hi, I think it was part of the casting process where the hot metal was poured into the mould. Thanks for watching.
Stop strapping that camera on your head, it doesn´t add value to the video, i was fast forwarding and still got nausea
I find your process interesting but I like it, I’m only commenting because I have 2 suggestions to maybe help you improve idk if you tried the one. 1 applying the oil with like a foam paint brush vs paper towels, 2 trying to source a cheap marine clear view screen for your spray booth.
Thanks for the tips!
@@toyopatrestorations1588I am certainly not sure, but did you season the pot with Olive oil?! Olive oil has a low smoke point. Due to its high smoke point, Canola oil is perfect for grilling, cooking, frying, and seasoning a cast iron skillet. Canola oil’s smoke point is approximately 450°F; season your pan with Canola oil at 470°F. "During the cast iron seasoning process, make sure to exceed the smoke point of your oil of choice by at least 20 degrees. This will allow the oil to polymerize and form the oil barrier that you are trying to achieve. If you do not season the skillet at a higher temperature than the smoke point you might end up with a sticky finish. We recommend you ❤use polyunsaturated oils and avoid rich, fatty oils."
Hi thanks for watching, I used grapeseed oil on this pot.@@MrBillchair
@@toyopatrestorations1588 perfect choice! High smoke point, and very viscous at high temperature for absorbing at high temperatures. 👌
What a lucky find good on you enjoy
Thanks
nice job. but a battery charger and a washing soda bath would have do as good and been a lot easyer,, but ya done good
Thank you I will try that next time.
I agree but he also did this in the same day not 2-3 days so it was quicker!
I have to be honest. During the whole cleaning process I was telling myself that you were just going to make it shiny, and not season it properly. I was wrong. Nice work.
Thank you.
I had to replace the elastomer cushions in a motorcycle clutch basket. The steel retaining plate was fixed with six 6mm solid rivets. Most people tap the holes and use screws but I didn't like how thin the alloy was after doing that. So I experimented with some rivets I made on the lathe and tested them on scrap metal before arriving at the ideal dimensions . The rivets had flat cylindrical machined heads with conical bases to match the clutch basket and I formed the head into perfect domes with the flat side of a ball peen hammer. Using the ball of the hammer was much more difficult to control and far less accurate.
That's why I'm here too, the Yamaha clutch basket rattle
Another bottler Simon. 🤝 Well done mate and super impressive. I couldn’t make to CLECS this year ( workus interruptus) as I was hoping to catch you seeing as I missed you at the first one.
Hi, Trevor yes it would be great to meet you. Hopefully I will be there next year maybe 2-3 cars. Merry Christmas Trevor.
I never get tired of your amazing work Simon. All the best for the season mate. 🎄
That’s what I normally call on the radio at work when the bosses start sneaking around…” Ducks on the pond” 🤣
Hey mate, great video, I recently came across this channel and find your videos very educational. When preparing the panels and body for paint do you bring all or them back to bare steel? If so what is your method for doing it do you use a sort of paint stripper or sandblasting? I heard sandblasting can cause warping in the panels, is this always the case. Cheers, Angus
Yes always bare metal.
Yeah ok do you sandblast all the panels?

Not sure what you benefited by replacing them?
Hi Mark, It is just a demonstration of how I remove and replace solid rivets. I have been asked a few times to make this video. I do this when I need to replace a crossmember. Thanks for watching.
