It surely is not the case in a religion, cult or sect where there are rituals which by definition is non spontanious.

its interesting that i've always thought myself to be highly introverted being i am fairly reclusive, yet my rational, logical mind have dominated my personality most of my life. Only the past decade or so, have i become more of a true introvert, relying more on my instincts and subjective perceptions. I think this has been an eye opening journey, listening to Jungs philosophy the past decade or so. All of his theories and things like his concepts of the collective unconscious and synchronicity have really helped cultivate my inner, most intuitive perceptions of reality, while making me realize that objective reality is not the whole story. thanks my friend for the fascinating content as always! And you reproduction of Jungs voice came our super clear and fairly authentic. Well done!

When I was a child , from about 5 years old until about 7 , I felt I was really a little old man ..... and when I saw myself in pictures and mirrors it seemed funny to see that I was actually a pretty little girl ! Eventually that feeling thinned out , but now that I'm in my mid 60's I feel it returning somewhat ....

The problem is that the shadow mostly acts like a kid with disabilities but some animal extra powers, so even if it has "good" intentions (headline on the thumbnail) it might do something very wrong...

Interesting .... and it rings true , somehow . .... and I'm wondering , since our pots and pans have ... souls --- AI is going to be an eye opener , down the road ..... as it might start expressing its experience ... will ... and desires !!! Never a dull moment , in the realm of conciousness ;-)))

I would say shadows are what keep your attention in the apparent world. Engrained unconscious habits that take you out of infinite unmoving silence which is "you". When you don't know who you are you're always searching...constructing a world.

Imho the main flaw, and you can see it in the comments, is that christian religions worship a dualistic god. They are right that God is omnipotent omniscient and omnipresent but then place the devil against that. They dont understand where duality comes from and what purpose it serves, and externalize it all leaving you in fear.
