Though they are one of my favorite bands I don't know much about their history. The singer here is Rick Barajas, they later had a recording with Rocky Gil. The big horn section (two trumpets and a sax), evolved into just a sax. A friend of ours played in the band and he played trombone. There are still some of the famous lineup still around and they could provide more insight. Wish I could have helped more.

That is a different Mike Torres. The Mike Torres from la45 is from California as is his father and grandfather. Mike Torres, the Houston version sang with the original los Muchachos and then big Lu y los Muchachos and then Modelo Band and probably a couple of other bands.

@@carloscantu2027 AWESOME! My dad played with Modelo in the mid 90’s, I wanna say ‘94 or ‘95. I was only a kid around that time. I remember going with my dad to practice at the keyboarders house lol If you have copies of the 45’s I would love those. Also, if you have physical pictures of the band with my dad, that’s be great! @@christophertamez126 I replied to your last comment earlier but for some reason i don't see it. maybe i forgot to hit enter. the picture with your dad and mine has to be late 80's or early 90 as that is when he got out of Modelo. I'll look for extra copies of those 45's, just to let you know though that your dad did not record that particular song as one was recorded in 1982 and the others in 1984 and 1988, and I remember the lineup of the 82 and 84 recordings. The picture with your dad was one of the only pictures of Modelo band that I had at the time. I don't know about Pensando En Tu Amor, Evangelina, Mi Gallito Colorado or Tu Inosencia as my dad did not record those. Is your dad still with us? What other bands might he have played with?

I have all of the Modelo Band music that I know of on this RUclips channel. Several 45's were recorded, no cd's that I know of

doing good, yes I have the whole album, actually all 3 albums that I know of.

Actually, the first is Josefa, self titled. Then it is kinda confusing without seeing the back of the album. Dimelo and Volume II (also called 1988). I'm not sure which came out first but I would guess Volume II and then Dimelo. But I could be wrong. Volume II has a couple of songs that even predate the first. I have them on a 45. Then came Awesome and then I have another 45. There was also a release called 15 hits with one song that wasn't on any of the other albums. Josefa was one of my favorite bands.

This band was from Houston TX. Neto died in a car accident with a fellow band member back in the early 70’s

I've never thought about selling any of my stuff. i don't know how much it would take for me to sell it. sorry

I have a question, does your father know a song they sang with butch de la garza called veinte novias/ojitos pajaritos. It was on mex-melody records if i recall.

@@elpochotejano5518Yes, plenty of stories. Most of the videos I post are of songs my dad recorded. There are only a couple of requested videos that I posted that he did not record.
