      What’s wrong with that? He’s a human who was affected by COVID, and he’s a largely independent artist. They were good questions

    I was reminded during this conversation of the following quote by Franz Kafka, who I've little doubt Henry has read, this being from the 'Zurau Aphorisms'; it'd be 'well insteresting' to hear what he makes of it: “It is not necessary that you leave the house. Remain at your table and listen. Do not even listen, only wait. Do not even wait, be wholly still and alone. The world will present itself to you for its unmasking, it can do no other, in ecstasy it will writhe at your feet. ” ― Kafka, Franz

    Saw Henry Rollin's 'Good to see you' show last Thursday. He came on stage, said one sentence, then said goodnight and left. But the sentence was very high energy, very intense. He made us laugh, made us cry, totally captivating. And that one sentence lasted over 2 hours

    20:59 The lad asks the wise head about the Euro and just repeats the "common wisdom" that had the UK joined the Euro, it would have been a disaster. He clearly reads the Telegraph or the Times, or the Daily Mail or the Express because it is not true. Well, if your currency weakens it is generally thought to be a bad thing because you become poorer. You have to export more just to earn the same in foreign currency terms as before. When the Euro was launched in 2009 it was worth 79p Today it is worth 90p. The euro has risen and the pound has declined. We are poorer. Heseltine is bang on right and one day the pound will disappear if only because of the reason discussed at the very end of the video. The old are dying off and the younger, more intelligent people can check facts for themselves. It is what you have to do in this post-fact world.

      hauskalainen so you think having a common currency in the hands of a few is clever? I suggest a rethink; dangerous. As is centralised sovereignty. Heseltine is a bilderberger.

    • @hauskalainen
      @hauskalainen 7 лет назад

      Yes. It would have been better because the Euro has done exactly what it was designed to do. Eliminate exchange rate risks, make prices across borders more transparent, integrate economies, and eliminate transaction costs (euro cross border payments cost the same as domestic payments). And had we joined the Euro at the rate in 1999 Brits would be about 15% richer because the pound is so much weaker these days. The Greek crisis was not about the Euro. It happened in part because bankers wrongly thought like you seem to think... that a euro indebted represents sovereign debt in the same way that gilts are sovereign debt. It was wrongly priced by the bankers and their ratings agency friends which actually engineered the Greek crisis.
