A quick demo of the two ways the Hang Tight PSC can be controlled. You can control it with a potentiometer, or with your choice of ECU through a PWM output. Our controller works with select Dodge, Volvo and Mazda electric hydraulic power steering pumps, as well as Toyota Prius and Corolla electric steering assist columns. Hello! Out of the different oem power steering systems your controller works for, which one do you find the quietest? We have a Volvo system prebuilt from another supplier but it has a serious offensive whine that we need to get away from, any help is appreciated and we'd be interested in ditching this and using your controller with something else.
Hello! Thanks for the question. It's honestly hard to say. My car is the furthest thing from quiet, so I'm not really the best person to ask. We have another one installed in the trunk of a car and when properly isolated, it's not audible over the car itself.
Will this work on the Mazda3 pump with 3 connector setup? Want to use on my Tacoma.
Yup! We suggest buying the pump with 2 connectors. The 3 connector pumps are problematic.
@ problematic how so? Do they not work at all? I’m a Honda Master Tech by trade so my electrical skills are adequate. I’m just doing preliminary research. Couldn’t pass up the pump for the price. I think the 4 pins on the third connector are all related to steering angle sensor.
@@MikeKoltowski no science behind it, but we've seen more failures in the old 3 plug pumps than the two. For the cost of them though, we basically tell people to use them till they can't. Our controller is backwards compatible with them so they're not hard to swap afterwards.
Wonder if this will provide enough volume and pressure to retrofit into an older steering gear car before everything went to rack-n-pinion.
Yup, 100%. We tested it on an 84 Oldsmobile Cutlass with an aftermarket steering box. 100% better.
What about controllers for hellcat electric racks?
Unfortunately not. We'll be supporting the newer dodge pumps in our next production run, though.
These guys really know their stuff. What a great product!
This guy really knows what he’s doing! Great video - thanks!
This is super cool. This will solve problems for a ton of the drift community/gridlife community!
