I’m so happy to hear that TikTok about taking your time with the first draft to make it clean. I feel like all the advice we ever hear is “just write the first draft, even if it’s a mess! Go back and edit it later!” but I know from experience that if it’s too much of a mess, it’s hard to edit it because you don’t even know what to do with it. The idea of having a goal of “clean pages” instead of just a volume of word vomit makes a lot more sense to me.

Y'all, I hate to admit this, given how much I love writing and aspire to be an author, but I'm writing my second novel, and I feel like I'm not getting the same angsty thrill as before. I love nothing more than to keep talking about how much I love the plot and all of the plot twists, however, actually writing it feels like a chore at times. I can't tell if it's because I've been so busy with school and sports, but even when I'm free, I'm never in the headspace to write. Am I losing my spark? Has this happened to y'all? What's going on?

This just reminded me of how I wrote a story and the first time word crashed and deleted 2 Pages and I had to re write it, and I wrote it on a whim so I didn’t remember it exactly. It wasn’t the same when I re wrote it😢
