      I'm really sorry to hear about your knee pain. Knee injuries can be tough, especially when you're missing soccer so much. Stay patient with your recovery and take it step by step. It’s important to get a proper diagnosis from a medical professional so you can have a structured rehab approach-just resting isn’t enough. Wishing you a smooth recovery and hoping you're back on the field soon!

      Thank you for sharing your injury-story. It's frustrating that you're still not able to hop on one leg or run after 9 weeks. While some ankle sprains take time to heal, not being able to do these activities at this point suggests you should check back with a doctor or physiotherapist in person. They can evaluate your progress and see if there's anything more serious or if your rehab needs adjustments. If they give you the go-ahead to continue/start with conservative rehab, you can start with the Ankle Sprain Rehab Plan in the Exakt Health App. It’s designed to guide you step by step through exercises to help you regain strength and mobility. You can download the app and test it for free for 7 days here: geni.us/ExaktHealthApp-RUclips Best of luck with your recovery!

    Evidence of PDT 2 FS hyperintensity suggestive of intrasubstance tear of anterior cruciate ligament with intact attachment with near total tear at tibial attachment-Grade I tear / Sprain Evidence of intrasubstance hyperintensity involving posterior horn of the medial meniscus up to the articular surface suggestive of grade I tear ADVICE: - Clinical correlation and follow up

    • @exakthealth
      @exakthealth 5 дней назад

      Thank you for sharing. It looks like your MRI report shows a couple of key findings: ACL: There’s an intrasubstance tear of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) with a near-total tear at the tibial attachment, classified as a Grade I sprain/tear. This means there’s some damage, but the ligament might still intact at the attachment point. Meniscus: There’s also a Grade I tear in the posterior horn of your medial meniscus. Grade I tears are usually mild and don’t always require surgery, but this can’t be determined just from the MRI. Be sure to discuss it with your physician. The recommendation for "clinical correlation and follow-up" means it’s important to consult with your doctor or physiotherapist. They will assess both your MRI results and your symptoms to decide the best course of action. While the Exakt Health App has a Meniscus Tear Rehab Plan, we don’t offer rehab plans for ACL tears. That’s why it’s essential to work closely with a physiotherapist in person to get the best guidance for your ACL recovery. Be sure to get their advice for the right next steps! All the best for your rehab.

    literally me. I’ve had this pain in both knees relentlessly for a year now, tried months of PT and it didn’t work :(

    • @exakthealth
      @exakthealth 5 дней назад

      I totally understand how frustrating that must be, dealing with knee pain for a year and not finding relief after months of PT. It’s definitely time to talk to your doctor or physiotherapist again and let them know about your persistent symptoms. Did you focus on active rehab and strength training with your physio? Building up strength around the knee is extremely important for long-term progress. If your previous treatment was mostly passive (like just massages or manual therapy), trying out a different physiotherapist who emphasizes active rehab might be worth considering. Once you get a proper diagnosis, you can try a structured rehab plan, such as the one in the Exakt Health App, to guide you through the recovery process. Hang in there, and hope you find relief soon! Wishing you all the best for your rehab.

    Can it heals itself please? Without surgery

    • @exakthealth
      @exakthealth 9 дней назад

      Thank you for your question. Meniscus tears can sometimes heal on their own, but it depends on the type and location of the tear. Tears in the outer part of the meniscus, known as the "red zone," have a better blood supply, so these tears are more likely to heal without surgery, especially with proper rest, physical therapy, and strengthening exercises. However, tears in the inner part, the "white zone," have less blood flow and are less likely to heal on their own. It’s always best to consult a healthcare professional to assess the severity of the tear and determine the best course of action for recovery. Thank you for your comment, and also a thank you to @poojabhosale764 for your tip. It's great that some people have found relief with certain exercises, it's important to approach any treatment method critically-especially when it promises quick fixes. Meniscus injuries are complex, and no single exercise can effectively resolve the pain or address the underlying issues. In fact, relying on just one method without understanding your injury could risk making things worse. What really helps is following a structured rehab program that focuses on reducing pain, improving mobility, and strengthening the knee gradually. The Exakt Health app provides a personalized Meniscus Tear Rehab Plan designed to guide you through each step of conservative recovery, tailored to your specific condition. That said, it's crucial to discuss your situation with a doctor or physiotherapist, especially if surgery has been suggested. They can give you a professional perspective on your specific injury and help you determine the best course of action. On the Exakt Health website, you can also find resources on meniscus tears, including the latest research, which can help you educate yourself and make informed decisions about your treatment options: www.exakthealth.com/en/blog/an-overview-of-meniscus-tears-symptoms-causes-and-treatment-options Wishing you all the best for your rehab.

    If you want to try to get into running, I think one of the best things to do is to go VERY low intensity. If you don't already have a good aerobic base, running sucks balls. To make it as enjoyable as possible and to get the best mental/physical results from running, take it slow at first and learn to love it.

    • @exakthealth

    Woher weiß ich ob man meinen Meniskusriss auch konservativ ohne OP behandeln kann ?

    • @exakthealth
      @exakthealth 16 дней назад

      Danke für deine Frage. Die Entscheidung, ob ein Meniskusriss konservativ oder operativ behandelt werden sollte, muss immer von einem Arzt getroffen werden. Dein Physiotherapeut oder Arzt wird dies nach einer gründlichen Untersuchung und möglicherweise einem MRT beurteilen. Einige Faktoren, die die Entscheidung beeinflussen können: 1. Art und Ort des Risses: Äußere, gut durchblutete Risse heilen oft von selbst; innere Risse erfordern eher eine OP. 2. Größe des Risses: Kleinere, stabile Risse können konservativ behandelt werden, größere eher nicht. 3. Stabilität des Knies: Ein stabiles Knie spricht für konservative Therapie, Instabilität für eine OP. 4. Symptome: Leichte Schmerzen für konservative Behandlung, starke Schmerzen oder Blockaden eher für OP. 5. Alter und Aktivität: Jüngere, aktive Menschen tendieren eher zur OP, Ältere kommen oft mit konservativen Maßnahmen zurecht. I was playing football last 2 weeks, i wanted to make a sharrpp cut but my left knee twisted with that cracking sound, i fell to the ground immediately. I had little difficulty walking at first, now i can walk but if i try to arch my leg backward, i feel pain on the inner down side of my knee and also back lower part on the outside of the knee. No swelling for first 2-3 days but now a little bit swelling on both spaces besides my knee cap. Warm when touched. 80% stable. Pain on both front inner side and back outer lower side when streched. It also shakes. Been icing and resting as recommended. 2 weeks now and still pain painful.

      Hey Tobia. Thank you for your comment. We’re sorry to hear about your knee injury! The cracking sound and the discomfort you're experiencing, along with the swelling and instability, suggest that it’s worth getting it checked out to understand exactly what’s going on. It’s great that you’ve been proactive with resting and icing-those are excellent first steps. Since the pain and swelling have been ongoing for a couple of weeks, consulting with a doctor or specialist will help you get a clear plan in place for a full recovery. They can guide you on the best next steps, whether it’s continuing with rest, starting rehab, or exploring further options. In the meantime, keep up the rest and icing, and avoid putting strain on your knee. A professional evaluation will ensure you’re on the right track to recovery. Wishing you all the best!

    • @exakthealth
      @exakthealth 17 дней назад

      Thank you for your comment! While it's true that certain types of meniscus tears, particularly complex or degenerative ones, may not heal on their own, some tears, like those in the outer part of the meniscus where there is more blood supply, can heal with conservative treatments like physical therapy. Each case is different, and the healing potential depends on factors like the type of tear, its location, and the individual's overall health. It’s always best to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the right course of action for each specific injury.

  • @soflo_david

    Hi, I had an incomplete radial tear with fragmentation in the inner half of the body of the lateral meniscus and it extended into the inner edge of the posterior horn of the meniscus as well. I was still able to walk on it and the pain wasn’t to bad only if I had been overdoing it that day or if i was to squat like flexing it. I couldn’t tell if it was because of the joint effusion or the actual tear but I was told i needed surgery and I had just got it done today. I still have to follow up with my doctor now but he told my mom they cleaned my meniscus. Was it a bad decision on getting the surgery done or would it have been better if I had let it heal on its own doing physical therapy?

    • @exakthealth
      @exakthealth 17 дней назад

      Thank you for your question! It sounds like you had a pretty complex meniscus tear, and it’s great that you’re being proactive about your recovery. Here’s a bit of insight that might help: For complex meniscus tears like the radial tear you described, surgery is often recommended because these tears don’t tend to heal well on their own, mainly due to limited blood supply in certain parts of the meniscus. Tears with fragmentation and extension into critical areas, like the posterior horn, can be particularly challenging to heal without surgery. Your doctor likely recommended surgery because they believed the tear wouldn’t have healed adequately with physical therapy alone. Now that the surgery is behind you, the focus should be on recovery. Following your doctor’s & physio's advice and incorporating a structured rehab plan will help strengthen your knee and reduce the risk of further issues. 26 weeks is a long time, I totally get how frustrating that must be! Meniscus injuries can sometimes take a while to heal, especially if you're trying to stay active. The key is to stay patient and give your knee the time it needs to recover. Targeted rehab exercises might help speed up the healing process. If you haven't already, it could be worth getting a second opinion from a doctor or physiotherapist. And the rehab plans in the Exakt Health app could be helpful too to structure your active rehab and come back stronger. Hang in there, you've got this!

      Gerne! 😊 Bei einer Achillessehnenentzündung ist es tatsächlich wichtig zu wissen, ob es sich um die insertionale (am Sehnenansatz) oder mid-portion (mittlerer Bereich der Sehne) Form handelt, da die Behandlung etwas unterschiedlich sein kann. Barfußschuhe können durch die veränderte Belastung der Achillessehne dazu beitragen, daher ist es super, dass du aufmerksam darauf bist! Rest days are crucial for muscle repair, replenishing energy stores, and injury prevention.

      That’s amazing to hear that you’re back to running without surgery! 👏 It sounds like you’ve taken a cautious approach with your recovery, which is key with meniscus tears. Starting with easy runs is a great way to gradually build up strength and stability in your knee. Make sure to keep listening to your body and incorporating exercises that strengthen the muscles around your knee to prevent further injury. Keep up the great work and wishing you a smooth and injury-free running journey ahead!

    Hi, danke für das Video. Ist eine Achillessehnenbandage mit Polsterung der Achillessehne grundsätzlich sinnlos oder koennte dies den Wiedereinstieg in den Sport unterstützen?

    • @exakthealth
      @exakthealth Месяц назад

      Hi, danke für deine Frage. Obwohl eine solche Bandage deine Symptome initial lindern könnte, ist es wichtig zu wissen, dass relative Ruhe, Krafttraining, das Vermeiden zu früher Dehnungen sowie der Einnahme von Entzündungshemmern sowie Kühlen und Massage die wichtigsten Eckpfeiler dieser Behandlung sind. Mit der richtigen Behandlung Wenn du wenige Wochen nach dem Auftreten der ersten Symptome mit der richtigen Behandlung beginnst, kannst du nach 12-16 Wochen wieder fit sein. Grundsätzlich spricht also nichts gegen eine Bandage, diese sollte allerdings immer nur ergänzend zu den oben genannten Maßnahmen eingesetzt werden. Wir wünschen dir alles Gute und eine baldige Besserung.

    • @LG-cq6cf

      @@exakthealth danke für die Antwort. Mir ist nicht ganz aus dem Text ersichtlich, ob Kühlen und Massage vermieden werden sollen oder es positiv ist? Ganz kurz mit Eis kühlen soll ja die Durchblutung und somit den Heilungsprozess fördern?

    • @exakthealth
      @exakthealth 15 дней назад

      Gerne! Entschuldige, falls das unklar war. Kühlen kann zwar helfen, Schmerzen zu lindern, aber es beschleunigt den Heilungsprozess nicht direkt. Du kannst deine Sehne gerne zwischendurch kühlen, wenn es dir guttut, aber regelmäßiges Kühlen ist nicht notwendig. Zur Massage: Sie kann Schmerzen lindern und die Muskeln entspannen, indem sie das Nervensystem beruhigt. Allerdings hat sie keinen direkten Einfluss auf die Heilung der Achillessehne. Sie verändert weder die Ausrichtung der Sehnenfasern noch macht sie die Sehne oder Muskeln stärker. Um die Sehne nachhaltig zu heilen und zu kräftigen, ist gezieltes Krafttraining entscheidend. Massage kann jedoch hilfreich sein, um den Einstieg in deine Kraftübungen zu erleichtern. Es ist wichtig, eine Kombination aus Entlastung, gezieltem Training und unterstützenden Maßnahmen wie Kühlen und Massage anzuwenden. You had better research surgery well. I’ve read so very many comments on surgeries gone bad and pain still months later has them on crutches and suicidal. Don’t go in with blind trust. Arthroscopy surgery will usually result in arthritis at some point because it alters the structure of the knee. Meniscus tears are common and surgery is a profitable business.

      Thank you for your follow-up question! I understand how frustrating recurring issues can be, especially as an active athlete. After a period of rest, it’s really important not to jump straight back into activity. Instead, take time to gradually rebuild strength, stability & mobility around the joint to prevent further injury. Rushing back without strengthening the muscles can lead to the feeling that something isn't right. Before starting your rehab process, I’d recommend getting a check-up with a doctor or physiotherapist to make sure everything is healing properly. They can assess your condition and give you the go-ahead for conservative meniscus rehab if it's suitable for you. Once you get the green light, you can begin the Meniscus Tear rehab plan in the Exakt Health app. It’s designed to help you gradually build strength and stability, preventing re-injury and supporting a safe return to running. You can download the app and test it for free here for 7 days: geni.us/ExaktHealthApp-RUclips Take your time, and don’t rush the recovery process. Wishing you the best in your recovery.

Since your symptoms persist, I’d recommend pushing for an MRI to check for any soft tissue damage, like a meniscus tear. Since we don´t know you and your body as well as a potential diagnosis, please be aware that the following advice might not be suitable for you. If this has been the first time you´ve been doing strength training at the gym, the load might have been to high for the beginning. Try using lower weights or doing fewer repetitions and make sure to find a good mix between strength and mobility workouts, plan rest days in between etc. It might also be useful to get a personal trainer on board to see if you´re executing the exercises you are doing correctly, form wise. We can also recommend you to find a personalised program that adapts to your feedback and personal needs, like the prevention plan in the Exakt Health app. Feel free to check it out and start your free trial today. www.exakthealth.com/download-page

    I suffered a medial meniscus tear 25 wks ago. Didn’t have much pain just bad stiffness. Have done 7 wks of therapy with no pain. If I wear a good sports knee brace with metal hinges on both side would it be safe to bow? I bowl in leagues and my leg that o throw on is the meniscus tear leg.

    • @exakthealth
      @exakthealth 2 месяца назад

      Thank you for your question. Given that you have already undergone 7 weeks of therapy with no pain, your knee has made significant progress. However, returning to activities like bowling, especially when it involves your injured leg, requires careful consideration. Wearing a sports knee brace with metal hinges can provide additional stability and support to your knee, which is beneficial when engaging in activities that put stress on the joint. However, whether it is safe for you to bowl in leagues should be assessed by a healthcare professional who can evaluate your knee's strength, stability, and overall readiness for such activities. All the best for your rehab.
