Sorry. One other question, what is the length of your rear link bars? Thanks
I got 36" unwelded bars and i think i ended up cutting them to around 29". Are you working on a similar build?
Thanks. Working on a 65 slick, was planning a triangulated 4 link, but thinking about changing things up now.
Did you get the 1/2 or 3/4 ton watts link kit?
1/2 ton.
Awesome
Thank you.
Dude that is so cool you and those boys will never forget that. Way to Dad brother.
It was fun hopefully my boy builds one with his kids someday.
Did you give up on the truck?
No not at all. I’m still making progress but nothing that makes great content. Maybe I’ll put out an update video next week.
@@brianuerling4830 that would be awesome. I've been waiting for another video on this truck. Great build!
@@randallsaputo5217 That is great to hear! Is there anything in particular you want more detail on?
@brianuerling4830 no just wanted to see it come to completion! Maybe a video on the air bags and controller
@@randallsaputo5217 I will for sure do a whole video just on the air ride system eventually. Getting into the detail parts of the build now and the progress is slow.
nothing better than shaping memories with your familie! nice work buddy
It was a lot of fun and neither one of us will forget.
subscribed. love trucks like this old round eye square c30 with cummins. can't wait to see more videos of squares on your channel.
Thanks my nephew is building a lifted version maybe I’ll do a video of it.
As a longtime fan of old Chevy duallys, Cummins engines, and cat beasts I found this video to be excellent👍👍
Thank you!
Truck looks amazing. How did you hook up the clutch? I have an 83 automatic Dooley and I want to put a five speed manual in it with a 24 valve.
Thank you. I used the slave master setup from a Jeep Cherokee can’t remember the exact year. Drilled a new hole in the stock chevy pedal and removed the spring. Power Driven Diesel and Southbend Clutch were a big help with parts selection on my build.
Cool truck gay engine swap
Yep ruined.
Nice truck man. You gave me an idea what to do with my 88 R30 dually ,I finished my c10 1974 and my 92 gmc sierra and my next project is the R30
Thank you, have fun with your project and let me know if you have any questions.
Don't do a Cummins
@@jesses.7107 What's with all the hate?
@@brianuerling4830 Cummins swaps are gay
@@jesses.7107 yeah who likes more power, fuel economy and longevity. Totally ruined.
Great save thats a neat car
thank you
Putting an LS in it mise well haul it to the scrap yard.
Ruined it!
I like it. Super cool car.
Thanks.
Of course you have a cool old oxygen tank for filling up tires.
I buy them every time I see one. Lots of people don’t know what they are.
Can’t beat them yoders especially 2f or 22r engines
Thats a good option.
Looks good, nice and clean design. What is the book you mentioned? Max Fischer
Thank you. Air Suspension Design Book by Max Fish.
Absolutely love this build. Good work sir.
Awesome! Thank you!
How far away is the engine away from the firewall & did you modify it & or the core support to get the mechanical fan to fit? All mine are 4wd
I had to massage the fire wall a bit with a hammer right at the exhaust manifold. The modification to the core support were solely for the the intercooler.
I have used the stock AC systems but it's a snug fit, heat wrapped the exhaust pipe & sprayed the firewall & ac box with lizzard skin b4 applying a foil sound deadening all the way under the cab & inside, you have vac for the inside controls The aftermarket kits all fit inside but are visible below the dash to kick as well as your glove box becomes super small but prob your best bet unless you score a parts truck. Plan is to install a suburban rear heat & ac unit under the 3rd seat in the 6 door.
I just keep putting it off, and driving with the windows down. I got rid of the vacuum pump so I am pretty much pigeon holed to the aftermarket.
Man! This is so sick! Great rig man. That Cummins should last you a long time.
Thank you. I really enjoy it.
Explorer rear end?
Yes explorer 8.8.
What size wheels are you running and what rear end is that out of?
The wheels are 18" Rear is explorer 8.8.
What blade did you use on your circular saw when cutting that flat stock? Like the work by the way!
Thanks, the saw is made for metal by evolution.
What’s the original color on that called?
Yuba Gold 53L
@@brianuerling4830 it looks nice!!! My 75 K5 Blazer is supposed to be yuba gold also. I may repaint my K5 the original color. The color looks even better aged.
@@armygreenfj3924 Thank you!
What wheels are those?
16” alcoas
what size tires? Perfect stance
I can see some advantages to the table alright but pushing a epoxy in a place like this, seems as tho some kind of grease gun style of pump would be a lot easier on a person. There must be some kind of rental tool that would make it a lot easier to push the bonding agent in the table. Plus as said, buying your own metal and making a good leg would reduce the costs. Of course, to make such legs would require a lot of time to make a precision leg that can be still adjusted. No cement floor is precision unless a lot of work in that surfacing took place ahead of time. Lots of questions only the owner can answer for him/her self. This is a good looking unit, and one that should take some abuse without just falling apart. All time related things.
I agree for the price they should probably provide a better solution for epoxy. I do plan on building a frame and leg setup for it at some point down the road. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@brianuerling4830 I am just glad I discovered a channel that is real and gives a honest opinion. Good people doing good things always is the best option for someone to make a good decision. Sounds like double talk from this old man, just a poor way of trying to make someone know I believe in them
@@morgansword Thank you! I hope i can keep you as a subscriber.
I first discovered these after i had already purchased a use miller arcstation. Its handy and all, but this would be far superior. would love to try one someday.
Come over and try it out. It’s a game changer for me.
I used that lift a few times on my Buick and will never again. Even when the arms are positioned in the widest position, the frame bends. Gaps emerged between front side panels and doors and the hood. There is a weak point in the frame that can be strenghtened by welding a few extra plates to stiffen it up. Don't know how yours ended up?
I didn't have any issues. But what you experienced doesn't sound like it was very fun.
Nice truck
Thanks 👍
What air bags and 4 link did you go with?
4 link is from thorbros, bags are Slam Specialties.
Looking good
Thank you!
Did you get the scrap metal,,,old motor parts there???😮,,,good weight for $$
No, I’m not a scraper. I just bought what I had time and money for. Save some adventure for the next guy.
Looks awesome! Can you tell me if you used the stock lower seat frame and then welded a fram on it ? And then the Durango frames? It looks like you got the seat height perfect.
I will have to do another video with more details. Yes I used the stock lower without the rails welded to a fabricated frame.
Thank you.
Great spot for electric stuff
Should be more convenient for wiring than under the dash.
What gauge steel did you use? What it turned out awesome
Thank you I used 18 gauge.
I like where the battery pack is located. The center of gravity is shifted. Great job!
Thanks.
Thing looks sick
