Can you provide more examples of decks/archetypes that generate healthy boards, by your definitions in this video?
Will do in a future video. Look out for that later on in February. Also if you any suggestions for anything else please feel free to mention it, love from your yugioh sensei
Love the cosplay! No. 39 Hope!
@@jessechangmusic8421 thx
First video of 2025 for me happy new year guys. So you will see the massive changes to the video. So tell me what you think as al videos know will be in this style. Going forward
Great video. This deckbuilding video is just what I was looking for. Love the cosplay mascot and look forward to new videos!
Glad to have you join the channel. Watch this space just updated the visuals. There is more to come stick with me for all your yugioh needs IAM a pure teaching channel for yugioh, if that's what you are into and want to learn yugioh you are in the right place check out the rest of the channel for all things yugioh related to answer those burning questions you have. And as I like to say at the end of my videos you are one step closer to becoming a yugioh master. That's my aim to make all who join this channel into Yu-Gi-Oh masters.
🔥
I appreciate the phantom knights costume. It was my first deck, one that my friend bought me to get me into yugioh a few months ago
Nice pk is my favourite archetype i love pk have you found out the easter eggs with the cosplay and topics as the topics usually relate to pks effect and importance in the archetype. Thats my hidden easter egg look out for pk cosplays and hopefully you wull find my easter eggs same with new cosplays each yugioh cosplay is amd topic are related it aint random. Either by lore or effect 😊
Good video, I would try to add bookmarks of your sections (new player handtraps, 6-9 handtraps, etc)and highlight these sections at the start of the video, though I'm biased as someone who doesn't play actively but watches videos so my attention span is poor 😅 Also, I enjoyed the intro a lot, would love to have like a 5sec video recording of the costume as you close off each section jus because it rewards someone who's watching the video rather than just listening. Hope the feedback is helpful, seem like a great Yu-Gi-Oh sensei and best of luck to the channel
Thx ill do that when i have time. Just prepping for holidays stay with me as the start of every year i will cosplay new yugioh monsters. And new cosplays means new topics
Ok ill.consider that i have created intro vid slides that took me the whole year to do for all.of them. So expect that starting next year
Brilliant
Thx
i just got back into the game after not playin for years and been playin a bit of master duel can u recommend some fun decks?
Fun decks. Easy to play gladiator beast pure it gets new support next year will.be cheap to get as it aint meta. Heroes thats fun choose a variant whether its elemental.hero, destiny hero or evil hero. Runick variants just mix em up with anything for fun. Sword soul im playing it with ryu-ge that comes out this month in tcg the ryu-ge deck core is only 40quid here in england where iam based will.be cheaper where you are. Primordial archetype helps normal based archetypes like blue eyes dark magician and so on again all im saying here are extremely cheap. It really depends what you are after i would also say pure ragna raika have the basic deck profile on the channel updated on in real life. Thats all for now i could go on and on but i would be here all day .if you could give specific playstyle your after and end boards you want to make i can give you ideas of more tailored to your taste.
Also welcome to the.channel hope you will stay. I will warn you however its a pure teaching channel for yugioh. While i do other topics and do vary from time to time. Check out my tips and tricks playlist for playing yugioh in real life if you are interested in doing that. Finally ill end this like i do all.my videos with this i hope you will become one step closer to becoming a yugioh master.
I've been trying to run more branded cards/ combos lately. It's a good feeling to have so much coverage and maintain options deep into the grind game.
Absolutely pure branded without the floodgate bullshit is extremely skillful yugioh that teaches a player alot about the game and the hidden nuances and rules. I,ve always felt branded is a fantastic archetype to improve a player's ability in Yu-Gi-Oh.
So Fiendsmith Yubel board is not toxic, nice!
I never said that I said the toxic board has a template thats near the same. For example let's look at talk about the snake eye board begining of year they wear 2 Omni negates way to loop an Omni with formula synchron a floodgate which would be a card on field the disruption which was the fire links in grave. So toxic board formula of 90 percent of competent toxic boards are 2 Omni negates a way to loop another Omni when. Those are used up a floodgate then disruption and handtraps looking at the modern toxic board. So fiendsmith yubel is toxic board when you follow the logic 2 Omni. Negates varudras and yubel fusion rye floodgate is wave king Caesar the Omni loop is the fiendsmith fusion the disruption is i.p to SP or fire link shenanigans in grave and finally handtraps that's the toxicboard formula in yugioh. Let's lay down that formula for you to understand 2omni negates or plain negates, a floodgate of some kind, a way to create another Omni negate, disruption in the form of IP etc then handtraps . This case applies on a properly built fiendsmith yubel board sure there are some hits on them but if the deck is built properly then it can make a toxic board with ease. So bare that in mind
@@SilverBoans Based board explanation Chad
Thx it's observation of the game. As I have played since inception of yugioh. That's where I can pinpoint the toxicity down to the minute details. This week 'll talk about a healthy board
the card is expensive for now but konami will reprint them to the ground eventually if they really want to slow down the game
And then they'll ban it.
My man has got with the program I personally think the tcg banlists have been fantastic this year getting rid of generic negates and floodgates. As long as that continues and the end board gets weaker and weaker for combo decks then we won't need the mulcharmy cards
@@freman007I can see Fuwalos getting hit to 1 but not banned, in reality the Mulcharmie's are only good going 2nd.
Did it really slow down the game? I am skeptical that mulchummy is responsible for that.
@@josephcourtright8071 it did fuwalos in tcg actually did slow the the game down in tcg the last tournament in Niagara ycs where it was legal the best deck was centurion a deck where you only special from extra deck once. Im not lying look up videos about that event on RUclips for tcg look at pro players and how they talk about the meta. Proof is there. Granted players are respecting the card way too much hence the slow down in tcg, since the thought process for most ppl is just activate it and draw cards without thinking. Yugioh is a game with nuance, the more players in tcg over commit to fuwalos we are going to be stuck in mid range and slow yugioh.
Dont forget about 6 samira saport some of them have triggers my PTSD
Sadly I'm mentioning support that entered the meta scene straight away after it was released this year

@@SilverBoans Go for it 👍
Are the 3rd and 4th one real?
There fake not real. They are just my calculated guesses and estimates to what they might look like when they are made by konami. Give you a rough idea. What we would have to face in the hypothetical future
Love the vids
Thanks I have noticed my growth. Cause this year my subscriber count has just gone up like crazy
The issue with traps is not power, its speed, the game is too fast now, they can be as powerfull as they can be but if you have to set it and wait a whole turn they players wont use them (only if they are in archetype and can get them for free) the dominous cards are the direction to go cus they can be used turn 0
They need to be like dimension slice, did you know that trap card is the first trap in the game that can be activated the turn it's set.So.that argument of speed is a mute point that card exists yet no one is playing it. If speed was the real deciding factor. Go.put dimension slice. That's right no one plays it in tcg or ocg you ask why with the Pikachu face cause it's power is garbage. Konami made that card a really fast trap we have fast traps no one ever plays them they exist it's because of there power not speed.speed is nothing over absolute power Absolute power renders all mediocrity useless.
@@SilverBoans i dont think that is a good argument for power being the reason traps are not used. Look at infinite impermanence, what it does is negate one monster, doesnt even destroy it and people use it because it can be used turn 0. If dimension slice could be used like a handtrap itd be used. Now im not saying that power means nothing cus if the effect has 0 power then why use it, but the factor for being used nowadays in my opinion is speed
I'm just stating facts as they are we do have traps right. That can be activated quickly I can list them here yet we don't play them. So you tell me what's konami to do if people dont play traps that. Can be activated their turn it's set. I get that it sucks but players don't take the options we do have we as a community keep complaining saying there are not traps that are fast enough. When that's not true. When we are given the options to choose those cards we don't choose them. I'm all for this point but if no one is going to play the fast traps we do have then your point is pointless. I'm being objective and looking at the data plus past experiences in both tch and ocg players. No one plays dimension slice and cards similar to it yet us players are happy to.play floodgate cards. We can't as a community say there are not fast trap cards yet we don't even play the ones that do exist.facts and data have shown the only traps we have played competitively are floodgates and negates. That's part of the community I don't like we sit hear complain about options and they do exist and straight up ignore cards entirely. I will concede on this point if you post me your current deck with dimension slice trap Typhon trap etc. I'll find them for you list them for you even if need be, speak with actions play those cards. Whatever the reason. May be we have chosen not to play them..I would love in the world where things go that way you say mate I really do but sadly our actions have been different cause you may say the power argument is pointless but facts have shown traps with powerful effects we play them both in tcg and ocg we don't traps with mediocre effects
But rant aside I get it but it's hard to defend your point in just showing you how it looks like from a neutral standpoint. We do need good traps not pack filler we need traps addressed properly not as an afterthought .But we also cant put all the blame on konami we also as a community need to take responsibility and use the options we are given.Cause if we don't use those options then there is no incentive for konami to improve traps.
@@SilverBoans i do admit the community doesnot explore trap decks as much, some do have potential and they are looked over, specially with recent formats were decks run 20 handtraps to stop combo decks, trap decks are mostly unphased by those. And i also belive good trap decks and generic traps can be made that are not floodgates so we should ask konami for them but also play them once theyre released!
I see your 5th summon, I sack your board with Nibiru, oh you wanna search- Ash. Enter battle phase, play Evenly Match, banish your board, or open feather duster and raigeki- all these points in your vid are quite useless versus any of these
It's a guide as I say it's not absolute remember having a plan is better than having no plan it's not guaranteed it's will work all the time.but fact is if you go Into games without a plan you will lose that's a fact. Also this video is just a simple guide besides there are other RUclipsrs that offer better handtrap guides etc guides to beating meta decks specifically will take ages to make. I can do it but no one requests it plus there are other yugioh RUclipsrs that do.that better than me. That's all I have to say. on this matter
Maintaining the board rly depends on what kinda deck you are playing doesn't it? I've played Swordsoul recently and those kinda decks usually focus on shutting down the opponent instead of rebuilding our own board, got alittle in the Tenyi side GY effects but not a lot. This is in Master Duel, I don't know what deck to build with real cards yet! The meta is kinda crazy Also that intro lol
Pretty much meta study is vital remember what I say here is a guide not a sure fire way to always maintain the board. Also this 😅s a general guide that will work 90 percent of the time the other 10 is luck sacking, remember having a plan is better than not having one. I can say with absolute authority if you go into games without any plan you will lose that's a fact no debate. As I said it's a guide retool what I say for your situation that's all. Finally this weekend will be uploading monster spell and trap recommendations for illusion look out for that my fellow students
Another good example for compliment effects is when u use a card that will trigger when used to pay costs
❤Good call!
That's right good call
The strength of trap cards has little to do with their power inherently. The new archetypes ArgoStars and especially Malice are good examples of good up-to-date style traps. They have traps that can be activated the turn they are set with conditions or other cards that simply activate the traps right away if they are continuous. Konami needs to release old staples as retrains (think compulsory evac, torrential, mirror force, lost wind, ect.) in a set where they have conditions to use them like: -activate them from hand -have Gy effects -a cost or activation condition, with the cost being paid if you want to use the trap at will - but mostly activate them the turn they are set. Traps need to be usable going second. Even searchable traps are not used in competitive decks if there are 2 usable spell targets. You don't even need to weaken spells. Just make traps really usable. The example for torrential tribute restrain could go as follows. " (This card is always treated as torrential tribute) If a monster is summoned: destroy all monsters on the field, then you can special summon one water monster in your Gy. You can activate this card the turn it is set if your opponent controls two or more monsters than you." It still functions as a trap, can be used going second relatively easily, and would allow you to dodge effects as well. Alternatively you could tribute a monster at activation and activate it at any time, even if a monster was not summoned. Any of these changes would revitalize trap cards and make them considered when building ones deck.
Good point made here, summed up quite nicely nothing more to add
Create a quickplay spell or monster that you chain to your trap instantly and that can be used when in the hand that makes any trap un-negatable
I disagree that Rollback should be banned. Powercreep for monsters and spells are considered fine but traps like rollback having to be banned seems hypocritical. Modern Lab decks with simultanous equation cannons dont even use rollback because they dont play the IKEA furnitures.
Fairs. But remember we players will just do degenerate things with copy effects powerful traps I have no issues it's the fact it copies other traps that's just my observation of copy effects in yugioh. They have all been banned. But I guess you are right there is a first time for everything and traps are getting used in yugioh so I'm sure a card that can become any trap in the game will be fine. I'm sure if we ban the toxic traps it copies from the game, all of them it will be fine i have full faith in our community will be responsible with a copy effect. We won't do.anything degenerate trust us. In fact let's bring all the copy effects that are banned back in the game trust us senpai. But jokes aside I get where you are coming from traps aren't used so what's the harm right it copies traps we get uses it's not harming anyone. Us players are actually using traps but I ask you is gimmicks the only memory we should have of traps. I want traps in the game to be used but I don't want it in this way. I sense this card will.be controversial going forward, but at this moment it's fine cause the lack of trap usage. We shall see what fate lies for us with rollback existence let's roll the dice and see besides it's just a copy effect what's the worst that could happen right.
Evenly was played during spyral and world chalice formats once circuit break released
I'm speaking from konamis perspective, bare. That in mind right. Not player
hey its hiita long time no see one we def had side sets rarity collection maze of millenia ect two generic negations like savage were not a issue baron sure i guess whatever but montsters like protos colossus(my love) are worse than negates and are harder to deal with cuz their effects linger once either activated or simply being on field dealing with negations was always easier to deal with ppl just dont want to keep siding for them or preparing but good video glad u still upload
Fairs about the side set thing, but I still stand with the negates fall under those lingering effects that's a type of negate so it's all the same thing the first step in my eyes first we get rid of generic once those obvious stuff is gone then we can know get rid of those real issues. Yugioh has alot of problems the optics of getting new blood needs to be solved first we can't fix lingering if the game doesn't exist as it dies due to lack of sales. We really needed that optics fix for getting new people to be fixed can't stress that enough. Im not denying the point simply saying that first let's get to a general 2 player game consensus in general then we can know look objectively and be like we can remove the problem stuff straight away without saying the excuse. I can't do anything cause you have savage etc. we need to remove excuses justifications for the lingering effects existence. Always that won't change, this year has been great for me as I have had the most growth. Watch this space I'm getting bigger
I'm happy as Your Yugioh Sensei with what's happening recently on my channel, i see the growth. For anyone who has joined glad to have you here. Hope you will be with me for this wild ride for yugioh we take together.
I think the game need an over hall and more oprason on how to play
True but this banlist is a huge step forward for tcg in the right direction. at least for the first time the acknowledgement of making those toxic negate boards are addressed.Bare in mind in asian side of japan still till now has the toxic playstyle of negates and such, these 2 banlists of tcg this yeah have addressed core game issues yugioh has had for ages. As they say better late then never. cause look going forward no generic negates in tcg. Thats huge just process that for a moment decks will be in theme. while we will still have our nonsense the difference is its not free. Going forward you cant eat your cake and have it.
Let me summarize here what grinding means in yugioh. Grinding in Yugioh means doing the same play over and over again example (every turn sky striker kagari adding from graveyard Sky striker mobilize engage.) Thats an example of grinding in Yugioh. Sky striker as i say in the video is great for any newcomer wanting to learn what it means in Yugioh. Next week might post video exclusively explaining Grinding its implications and its relevance in Yugioh.
What is grinding in yugioh i just need you to clarify that ???
@@georgekittridge6411 making the same play over and over again consistently every turn without fail. Sky striker kagari you see on screen is best example. Since without fail you can get sky striker mobilize engage.
@@SilverBoans oh so like insanity
Essentially yes it's what's considered a good deck that's what gives deck the hard to kill factor. Sky striker is built in that way that if you play it the way you construct it you will always have a play no matter what. This is part of the reason floowandereeze is a very strong deck even know few years later floo is weak but it does the same thing we every turn all the time every time. Grind game makes a deck have unlimited stamina and a huge comeback factor.
To be honest i do the psy are pritty good hand trap deck cos it more of a +1 then a -2
True but this video is for newcomers to learn about the concept of handtraps and their usage
They need to remake scery dog marrow in to a fech card for the skull servant 😅😂
Do u Get it 😅
Fun fact skull servant and dog marrow appear on several cards the cards effects and names reference the journey and tribulations, cards like monster rebone show case skull servants love for marrow by playing fetch in the artwork and effect, there can only be one we can see them again as skull servant in the artwork has tagged the airport security not only does the name and effect signify the troubles pets give on journeys etc. so yeah those are 2 examples given here. But yeah there is some serious lore here with skull servant man. Look em up if you own them you will see references like ones mentioned here.
@@SilverBoansoh yer and skull servant appears on self mummification and zombie master
I see what you mean who now's maybe they will make more skull.servant lore cards. But when that happens then the card you suggest would probably be a floodgate as it would showcase the tribulations of our poor bullied skeleton skull servant in yugioh lore man can't get a break with that marron of his
But i do find it funny there not given the dog an updated form yet i hope they do soon and it shod be a screech card for the pun
Ohhhh you should make a "boans" theme deck
Do memento deck 😂
Also rember xyz rank 4 deck is a prity good deck to start with if u went to up your game aswell
And if your are showing someone how to play u can not go wrong with a rank 4 deck
Believe in the heart of the cards mindset ❤
Correct Mr smith hopefully my advice resonated with you
even mushroom man can be a good card ( surly they need to make a deck bast around giving him to your opponent)
I try to ritual summon a link monsters ones i had my kids taken of me by the government 😢
helllllllo mr boans i would to try and do a rank 4 deck can you make some kind video or advise on a rank 4 deck also keep them videos going :D
What kind as if you wait till end if this year razeol comes out its rabk 4 spam archetype as all rye monsters all the clause you cant special from extra deck except rank 4 monsters
A pality cough.....
Hopefully you are alright 😂

My backgrounds are usually yugioh related. That background are the eyes on fiendsmith sequential
@@SilverBoans Thanks I could of sworn it looked familiar.
No worries I always have yugioh references like that. Even the thumbnails and the cosplay yugioh monsters along with their topics are deep cuts. For example phantom knight torn scale is the card I do deck profiles with cause of the cards ability etc. so there are Easter eggs like that in thumbnails with the topics. Look carefully and think about the titles and yugioh monsters you will notice these hidden messages.
I'm a new player and was recommended this, pretty sweet
One thing though is the sound effects especially the summon is very loud
