OMG the nostalgia.... My eyes teared up watching this..... I remember Speed mode races were so frustrating at first, but slowly, they grew on me, and I finally realised these races were the best part of this game. In the end it even became addictive. The adrenaline.... The excitement.... The fear of losing control.... Never got this feeling in any other game. Speed mode was so new and uniqe. I remember cheating unlimited money, so I could try every single one of the cars in speed mode with different tunings and settings to find out which is the best. And still to this day, I'm in love with the atmosphere of this game. Prostreet was far from perfect (for example it has the worst drift drift handling ever) but still one of my favourite NFS games ever. Thank you for this video, it made my day!

Great video. I love how highway battles are broken in the ps2 / wii version. I honesly for the longest time, but I wasn't aware of this version because I played the pc version and saw the ps3 version. Since they are identical, I guess I never bothered to look deeper, until like a few months back, I found this thing when I was researching for ps2 nfs titles. And omg, I love this version. Since the main pc version is just a boring mediocre game with terible handling, I was actually shocked to see how responsive the handling in this version is. But it definitely looks like they didn't have the time for playtesting. Apparently, they realized last minute that the pc version had no chase of running on ps2 performance wise, so they had to make a port within like months or so from scratch. To me, the best thing in this game is a fact that in one of the Challenge series highway battle event, I have saved completion time under 5 seconds. It's 4.96 or something around that. I'll never forget when the oponent after the countdown crushed into a truck, and while turning around, decided to rubberband and speed off in the opposite direction, creating necessary space and making me a winner.

In order for this glitch to work like it does in the video, simply get to heat level 5 while in a free roam pursuit (make sure to have the Porsche police units after you). After you escape, just start any highway battle. Have fun!

the police are VERY buggy in this game, once its heat level 4 and they aint onto you, they zoom past you real fast. Nice video tho 14:05 lool

Technically, you're not far off. The original Murcielago developed 570 horsepower in real life. Whilst the fastest Murcielago, the SV, has 100 more horsepower than the original model. You must've been thinking of the Murcielago LP640. Gotta say though, the Murcielago always was my favorite Lamborghini. Bold, brash and still exciting, regardless of where it goes!

Not related to the video but... There's a Bug where if you import a save data from a original ps2 and put it in a emulated version of the game it simply don't work.

So thats the key to defeat opponents in Highway Battles 🤔🤔

I found out many years ago a easier way to win outrun races. You go on the highway and in the the last second when is behind you turn to oncoming traffic 😅 you can do like 10 seconds outruns in a row 😂

Aside from the insanity level of some of the final racing events, this game still holds up as being one of the best arcade racers out there in my opinion. The gameplay, the career, the variety of vehicles, the damage, and ofc, the soundtrack (which I'm so sorry I couldn't play due to copyright reasons), they all fit incredibly well together in this game. Also something forgot to mention at the end of the video: I will be coming back to this game in a few days to revisit the NFS Underground 2 demo and other extra stuff as well.
