Mischa Elman plays Kreisler Favorites - Mischa Elman, Joseph Seiger
Interesting to compare, Gilels with the Chicago SO 1958 under Reiner, two years later Richter with the same orchestra under Leinsdorf. Both very similiar in their common Russian piano school , and there is no better nor worse than... - Richter perhaps with, typical for him, more structure from beginning to end, Gilels with more flowering sound (like Rubinstein).
I've lost count the number of times I've heard this. It's really one of the greatest concerti of the 20th century. I always keep coming back to this fantastic performance by Milstein. It's ironic that this performance is so great while Milstein himself said he wasn't particularly fond of the music. He liked the second movement more than the first and third. No matter. This is the recording to have.
It’s one of my favorite recording on bruch
Extremely Majestic. Thank you very much for sharing.
Fabulous!! One of the greatest historical versions. Arrau is a giant!!
I am very surprised that I am the first commentator on this recording in two years since it was published! Legendary Soviet artists David Oistrakh and Kyril Kondrashin are the marvel of the art of classical music. Я очень удивлен, что я первый комментатор этой записи за два года с момента ее публикации! Легендарные советские артисты Давид Ойстрах и Кирилл Кондрашин - чудо искусства классической музыки.
The best version of this concerto I've ever heard. Some have come close, but this is really Milstein at his rich and 'bel canto' best.
Pure exquisite transcendental music.
Does anyone know which edition/arrangement this is? I'm working on this and am not 100% happy with the version I'm using. Thanks.

Thank you,Maestro Claudio Arrau Leon(RIP)!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Gorgeous. I love Menuhin’s playing.
Bravo
I love it edition! ❤ the other favourite Rostropovic and Sir Adrian Boult with Royal Philharmonia from late '50's .
BRILLIANTLY PLAYED....THE BEST ORCHESTRA INTERPRETATION...OZAWA JUST GRAND!!
Finally appropriate tempi…why do so many soloists play it so fast?
Fantastic👏👏👏👍❤️
Heartbreaking beauty, both by composition and performance.
Grazie mille!!! Fantastico concerto!!!!!
A superb performance of this wonderful music! The slow movement brings tears to my eyes! Thanks for posting! 🌸🍄🐓🌹🌼💐🦆🐥🎻🎶🎻🥰😝😀👍
It is shameful how hard it is to find an interpreter like this now a days. Saw this live and it was dreadful, you really need true Tallent for Shostakovich
Actually, only a few modern violinists come to mind who have a distinctive sound or are truly complete artists.
@serodriguez it's a shame, but I'm glad for these old recordings, YT loves to take them down for some reason :(
Jascha Heifetz Einfach wunderbar!! Meine Schallplatte: Eine Aufnahme aus 1954 KORNGOLD L.A.Phil.Orch. Dirigent A. Wallenstein Anne Sophie Mutter, ist ebenso brillant mit op.35 Auf der Rückseite : BRUCH Schottische Fantasie op.46 New Symph.Orch.of London Dirigent: Malcolm Sargent GROßARTIG
The Great Salvatore Accardo thrilling our spirits with his magnificent play; just glorious...
Well, well played.Bravo Mr Accardo...
Beautiful ! ❤
Fiddle authorities insist Menuhin was past his prime at around age 16, but he never stopped developing musically and spiritually. And no apologies here for technique or tone. By all means listen to the youngster with his mentor Enesco and the young man who reached out to Furtwangler after the war, but I cherish this recording too.
My teacher back in the 80s, if they used Menuhin recordings as benchmarks, limited them to around (his) age of 16.
This is not the original version...Kogan is the best... Ricci makes uge cuts in the first part...
❤️
My psychiatrist ( now many years deceased) turned me on to Heifetz and informed me of his great fame way back in the day) … thanks Dr. Sklar!
Versión de referencia...
King David in his prime! Enormous might with endless subtlety and profoundest feeling!
I agree , it's the best version of Chopin 1est
最高です😊😊🎉🎉
Les larmes montent à chaque fois. Oistrakh est bouleversant. C'est tragique et plein d'espoir, de douceur et de force à la fois. Sublime.
@🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦:its on the website i linked but 5:55 5:02 0:56 and 4:58 ‼️‼️‼️
certainly a very good performance. But compared to the first recording with E. Bay it lacks the fire, intensity and in spots the accuracy of intonation that I'm used to from Heifetz. I also don't like the "echo" effect in this recording. sounds like it may have been added to "modernize" it.
Maravilloso. Muchas gracias
Cosi musicale e così virtuoso ...
Equally important the orchestra, every member. And conductor.
His priceless Stradivarius.
No matter how many times a listen.i never tire of it.
You couldn't help but love him.
Good very good orchestra back up.
