Yeah I see where you're coming from but if Bedtime was right and Alvarez won by decision he would have gained 385 points. If he just picked Alvarez to win and got that right he would have gained only 60.6 points. Basically if you get the method of victory right you get significantly more score. The amount which you gain is entirely based on the real odds. So picking method of victory is high risk high reward but ultimately fair in the end. Hope this helps! 👍:)

I understand your frustration, and I totally get where you're coming from. The scoring system is designed to emulate sports betting, where accuracy in predicting both the winner and the method of victory is rewarded more, but you have to get the method of victory right to get the extra points. Think of it like placing a bet: If you bet $100 for Fighter A to win by knockout, you lose your bet if he wins by decision. He must win by KO. But that KO will result in a much higher payout. It's all about adding that extra challenge and reward for precision. Hope that makes sense!

But it’s not betting it’s about giving credit for picking a fight, and picking who will win I just think is important enough to still reward a much smaller amount rather than only earning less of a penalty then being dead wrong. I get you now, but I definitely think it’s weird to LOSE points. Tapology does it that way and it makes sense to get credit rather than lose credit for getting the most important part of a prediction correct. I can’t be the only one who sees it that way but ur doing something different which is fine. It’s ur website

@Almudron1 Yeah other people have brought this up to me too. But I just believe that the best predictor for a card is who would have earned the most money if everyone were betting on their picks. So I'm trying to keep punchpredictor following that format. Selecting the method of victory(MOV) is optional so if someone wants to play with less risk and less reward they can just select winners (which could be a smart choice). I've used Tapology before and I didn't like that there is no punishment for being wrong, and picking a heavy favorite is rewarded just as much as picking an underdog. PunchPredictor uses the real odds for the fights so people will be rewarded more for picking underdogs and more for picking specifics based on the odds of those specifics. To go back to your point I think giving people the higher score reward for picking the MOV validates that they will lose score if they don't get the MOV correct but get the winner correct. That way you can make high risk high reward picks like MOV/Round.
