Yes, reaping
your progress is inspiring
Thanks, appreciate it!
Finally an actual white belt match. See some videos where dudes pull gaurd and just go for the legs at white belt. I’m like wtf. Awesome match bros.
it happens at white belt tournaments
Judges were a bit damn tough with a dq imo, a warning and maybe point deduction would've sufficed. Sometimes you get lost in the moment
Not for adults. Gotta know the rules. "Getting lost in the moment" isn't a valid excuse.
I have a question, why did he lose? Because of forbiden move ??
@@titigames2731 Reaping. His outside leg crossed over to the other side. If he would have kept the leg outside, it would have been OK.
had to replay that double leg at .25 LOL what a perfectly timed takedown!
Still waiting to see some BJJ
You won't see any in this match lol
Reaping DQ
You're doing great for a white belt keep it up!
Bro the double leg was gnarly
^^awesome timing!
Only a beginner and he’s already developed such an annoying and boring style. Kind of impressive and unfortunate.
the other guy or me? :(
That’s usually how a beginner style is lol..
@@dubbieafca the other guy you did a really good job getting around his guard
Take aways from this match: - position before submission - dont burn your arms out on a RNC if it's not locked 100% - swing your legs to underhook the second leg in lockdown - wider base while using tripod
Take aways from this match: - Have an active mount/better control - use more takedown feints - dont be satisfied with just the takedown - dont reach with your lead hand
Grats on the win bro! Do you still train bjj?? How often do you train if so. And when did you first start competing?
Thanks! I do still train bjj, but only nogi. I got my bluebelt in May 2022. I mostly train 3-4 times a week now, at a new gym since May 2022 (Elevation JJ, under Checkmat). I started bjj in Sept 2020 training 2-3 a times a week. But due to covid restrictions I was only able to train for about 6 monts before my first comp (Sept 2021). My next compt will be in December. I'll be joining the -185lbs intermediate bracket (blue/purple).
@@dubbieafca Very nice bro, I appreicate you replying. Just 1 last question, do you ever feel aches and pains from training? I train 2x a week but want to increase the days of training but it's the recovery thats been holding me back!
@@Slickhuman Of course man ask all you want. To be honest I don't really have aches that much, but maybe thats because my body is conditioned (also doing strength training 2-3x a week). Try to build up your sessions slowly but stay consistent so your body can adapt. Also try to stretch after every session, eat enough proteine en get some good sleep! If you're still feeling very sore try to slow down on the strength during rolls and strictly rely on technique. How long have you been training for? And planning to compete?
@@dubbieafca Good tips, I'm embarressed to say I've been training 2 1/2 years but inconsistently, was going like 3 times a month and not making any progress. I just recently (3 months ago) started going like 2x a week and already feeling as if I gained more knowledge because of the frequency being a bit better. I want to compete once my coach says I'm ready, the basics are becmoming easier to execute but just the soreness is what I'm struggling with now hindering me from going more then 2x week. I'll use your tips and stop trying to muscle my way out of submissions. Like the last roll, I was in 3 arm bars but I literally muscled my way out of them when I should've tapped because I skipped practice 2 days ago because of the soreness. I want to compete once my coach says I'm ready. I know once my body can get conditioned to training 4x per week I'll be making way more progress. I'm a slower learner so I need all the time I can get! In time hopefully, I'm still somewhat happy to be attending 2x per week.
@@Slickhuman Don't be embarrassed, be proud of yourself for trying to be better! Also just enjoy the journey (i know very cliche but its true tho). If you want to progress a little bit faster try to focus on one sequence per session/week. For example; in sparring you start from open guard and you only focus on knee sliding to side control, from there you try to go for a kimura. Just keep repeating this sequence for one/two sessions til you get the hang of it. Then the week after try another sequence to focus on. This kind of training will help with the feeling of the movement and the muscle memory. Besides that it helps you to learn better and understand the movement better. Its the same as studying and reading the whole book once or reading one chapter multiple times, which method will help you soak up the information better? Right, the second one. Just some tips btw do what works best for you! Do you have instagram, so I can follow your journey and your road to competition? Always interested in the development of fellow bjj lovers. If you dont want to share your instagram thats fine as well ofc!
Nice job! Keep training bro 🙌🏾

A bit confused at why you let him up? just confident in your takedown abilities and to win by points? Nevermind I think I'm right, watched the rest of the video. Were you a high school wrestler? I'm dog trash at wrestling need to learn.
To be honest, I was too afraid to do shit on the ground because the fear of getting swept crossed my mind the whole time. Usually when I roll at my school, there are no points, so I'm way more confident in my passes, submission etc. And besides that the nerves really got to me lol, forgot 80% of my bjj. Oh and I never wrestled or anything, I just like the takedown part of grappling a lot.
