He didnt invent the blastbeat obv, but maybe he brought it to the hammer blast tecnique Love this guy, theres plenty of drummers in the DM scene (eg culross) but mike was one of the prime movers in the brutal death genre

Used this as inspiration when i first started drumming and had multiple drummers tell me how good my blast beats are after so many shows and i would always refer them to Mr Mike Smith
