@thepersianknot Vintage Persian Afshar Tribal area rug in a geometric pattern in navy, red, blue, brown, and ivory colors from the early 1900s. The rug has a navy blue background with red and French blue spandrels. The geometric forms in the center have an ivory color background. Afshar tribal rugs are very desirable because of the fine weave and the use of vegetable dyes.

Beautiful piece, very colorful. I wonder if the Kerman Artisans that made this type of embroidery in the past also used more 'European' patterns for their embroideries. I've seen amazingly done embroideries that resemble those made in the 18th and 19th Centuries in Persia but don't know with certainty if they're actually from there. Is there any way to identify them, any characteristic that makes them original 'Persian'? Much appreciated.
