I recently acquired this clock from an old friend who didn't want it anymore. It is in nearly perfect condition, except for a small flaw on the top of the case. The chimes are very loud, but luckily it includes a manual silence lever. The clock needs a good cleaning, but runs smoothly nevertheless. This is my grandparents' Howard Miller grandfather clock. It is a model # 610-406. They received it as a gift in 1991 from a church congregation when they moved (my grandpa was a preacher there). This video is of it playing the Westminster chimes and I will post more videos of the other two chimes soon.

This is an old battery-operated wall clock that looks like a cuckoo clock but is actually musical. It plays 1 of 12 songs on the hour and counts the hour electronically. This video has it shown playing "Fur Elise" and striking 7. It originally had a pendulum but it was lost and its pendulum battery compartment is damaged.

This is a children's wall clock featuring the red and yellow M&M. Hello! I just got a new one in June of 2017. Now my pendulum quits working and the hour strike doesn’t strike the correct hour. Like when it’s 9 it strikes 11. Please reply
You can just move the hour hand to the corresponding hour that it chimes and then use the minute hand to reset the clock to the current time. But there's not much you can do about the pendulum - just make sure the clock is level both front and back and side to side and that it's not rubbing against anything inside the case.
What's the movement brand
It's an old Mason & Sullivan movement from the 70's, which was basically a Hermle division.
My guess is that the clock was made approximately in 1973.

Jeff Don is right, it chimes a bit late, the other comment is wrong, because its an easy fix! Remove the hand, use a pliers to hold the hand's hub firmly, and twist the rest of the hand counterclockwise a few degrees. The hand is not glued/welded to the hub/metal ring that holds it on the clock, its actually adjustible! Your clock will be perfect after this easy adjustment.

No, it's not a real working moon dial, just painted on to look like one.

I have this exact clock, I hate the sound - It's too Fake sounding. is there a way I can buy a new chime piece that actually sounds like a real clock?

It uses one AA for the timekeeping, two AA's for the hourly chime, and 2 C's for the pendulum.
does anyone know how to reset it so that the chime and time coincide. mine is about 5 min before the hour
There's a chance that the glue holding the mechanism in place inside the case came undone and cause the mechanism to rotate slightly, causing the chime to sound 5 minutes early. Check and see if that's the issue.
Does this clock only play the Westminster chimes? Or does it have any other chimes on it?

My Grandmother owned a clock like that one and passed it down to my Dad. Built in the 1950's, it was a everyday part of my childhood till he gave it away in around 1980 and I have never seen it again. I recently bought a Black Forrest to remind me of those days.

Hello, you can tell by the type of movement, if you compare it to a Regula cuckoo, that it is a german Hubert Herr clock.
@HLD452 Mine does the same thing, chimes really quick like this. It's done it since the day I brought it home new, and set it up. I asked my local Clock Dealer about it, and he suggested using a lighter weight for the Westminster Chime side. I asked him if doing that, would harm the movement, and he said it wouldn't harm it. So, that's what I've been aiming to do, for mine, just haven't done it yet.
You need to set your weights correctly. Otherwise it's a beutiful clock.
I think there's a problem with the fan that regulates the speed in the chimes and strike.

Batteries for the pendulum operation were left in too long and have damaged the terminals, rusted them out. Anybody know anything about repolacing that mechanism or the battery "box?" Post response here.
Bill Andrew.... The same thing happened to me too and I am searching for a part too.
Take sand paper and clean. Then put water and baking soda on a rag and clean. This works every time.
