It's no joke, sometimes it doesn't matter what you do trying to leave room etc just one of those things... But at least in this race I got away with only some slight wing damage Onwards and upwards

Only used thrustmaster t300 and the CSL DD 8nm but I assume moza are very similar to the CSL

Yeah recently renewed my membership in iRacing so a video will pop out soon. I do love the 1600 and the vee, and everyone loves an mx5... Problem is GT3 seems to be where the largest splits are, but then again I used to race based on what track was running each week And that's so true about VR and faffing about with buttons, perhaps we can have some mixed pass through soon so we can show our own wheel 🤔

@@SCoeSimRacing you're spot on, I saw a guy with an actual F16 cockpit plus instrumentation in his home, using it with mixed reality. Wasn't perfect but very good.

Some people's cockpits are insane thing is we need these people to push the limits to make it mainstream for the rest of us 😅

I'm not saying the older cars are better just because they're older, it's more that modern cars have become stale in comparison to the old ones.... It feels to me as though new regulations across all Motorsport is holding it back. The amount of innovation today feels minor in comparison It's probably mostly that I'm getting older and turning into that old boy in the pub who used to say "back in my day" 😅

I get what your saying... Probably slower cars wasn't the right thing to say, however slower cars do mean closer gaps. Handling is key personally I got into SIM racing via ACC so will always have a soft spot for gt3 cars. I think it's just modern cars are obviously easier to handle probably why I liked driving the Jag in ACC 😅. Power over downforce = more fun and RWD will always compound that fun factor

@ power over downforce exactly. But handling wise I think older cars are (irl) also more intuitively to control: the brand and type of ( older) tyre does a lot to the handling

Yeah when I play rally games regardless of what car I drive it's h pattern for me... And I'm the same with AMS2 I don't play it enough but love it when I do. I need to spend some time sorting out my AC... Haven't been on it for a while and tbh never really spend the time needed on setup.... Then again AC Evo will probably be out before I get round to it

Tbh I think with faster cars people have it all wrong, a 1 second gap in an F1 car feels massive compared to a mini. I love close racing and you don't get closer than slower cars... Another thing is the inevitable contact when SIM racing doesn't end in disaster so that's a plus 👍🏻

Yeah Ive been finding the same enjoyment of rally even in the classic mini it's just good, vr and manual gearbox cannot be beaten 👍🏻

Tbh I haven't really put enough time into ams2 to really appreciate what it offers, but do enjoy it whenever I do... The new update will hopefully gain extra traction and I'll be sure to test out more cars on more tracks. But yeah I hate the fact that most people race the fastest possible cars and tbh usually can't even handle them. I for one love a h pattern and a slower car 🥰

Yeah when recording in VR obviously won't look as good as a 4k flatscreen, however in the headset it looks better than Assetto Corsa does for me

@ Cool. The settings for this game seem very hardware dependant. My laptop is quite new with a 4070 in it which is probably similar to a 3060 in a desktop machine so I should imagine that anyone with a 3060 desktop or above should be able to get this game running at 120fps in VR with VD. I’ve seen people who get improvements by setting their main monitor to 60hz but it makes no difference for me. Reducing the resolution in the 2D settings seems to make no difference for me. So when I’m playing I’m getting Ultra resolution with no downscaling in Steam at 120fps while at the same time my TV is showing the game in 4K. I’ve spent too many hours testing settings in this game. Have you ever used a cable for F1? If so would you say it’s better than with VD?

Yeah I usually get games running fairly comfortably for me but I have lots of headroom with a 4080 desktop, Ive never used virtual desktop as airlink worked fine for me, but I only use the headset for SIM racing now so just use a cable now

It probably would have been clearer for everyone however I race in VR and don't really have a choice. I find it extremely hard to drive without VR as it is and to do so in an unrealistic camera angle would probably compound my issue. Perhaps I could have tried something with the replay cameras I'll have a look into it next time I do a similar video

I only really race AI in F1 so luckily I don't need to push the boundaries for track limits etc But codies do need to get their s in order Mainly race in ACC for PvP don't have the time these days to continue with iRacing

For me personally mainly it completely ruins the immersion. I literally watch a line and not the track. Secondly I find that people using the racing line don't learn the track. Finally when I see people on Reddit posts such as SIM racing stewards those who use the racing line tend to cause more accidents than those who don't. Obviously it depends what you want from Sim Racing, people who drive with a rear chase cam (like mario kart) I can understand want a racing line and beginners too. But beyond that I think most people want to race similar to how real racing works

If you're on a budget I do recommend it, I've never had an issue and it feels good enough quality to me... I've only raced with the thrustmaster t300 previously so I don't have much to go off. But it's certainly a step up from that however... SIM Racing Corner recently done a video about how you can use any wheel with the fanatec wheel bases if you prefer another different brand.

I dont have a choice playing in VR, but I do think it should be mandatory for all esports events etc... I think that's the main reason people say F1 is an arcade game 🤣

Codies F1s are simcade but for a few years now, I've been playing them only on cockpit view without any visual assist. Only the MFD and the radio commands.

Thanks, I get so frustrated if I watch a video of someone who is at least as fast as me (usually faster 😅) if they use the racing line. I think VR gives me a slight benefit for judging the cornering speed, and I probably didn't really even take into consideration those racing with a controller

To me as I race in VR it kills the immersion and I think it must in any game If anyone is using a racing line then the difference between arcade and SIM won't make a difference

I do try.... Need to get wombat to watch it 🤣
