      @@TGNep I thought so because lopping seemed almost violent when I watched Peter Chen do it in a RUclips video. My Venus flytraps repotted each year when they were still dormant because I believed that would reduce or prevent a shock. They always broke dormancy in about two weeks and then grew again.

    Definitely an awesome score! I hope it thrives. A thought for future projects? Maybe remove all of the flower buds for the transplanting phase. It takes a large amount of the plant's energy to produce flowers and seeds. Removal can allow it to divert that energy to the roots and leaves as it recovers from transplant shock. Just a suggestion from a plant lover and newbie bonsai artist.

    • @TGNep
      @TGNep 4 месяца назад

      When growing bonsai it’s standard to grow in shallow pots! We use an alternative to soil which you can see in the video! This allows for proper drainage and airflow to the roots! As well as lots of fertilizer to make up for the lack of nutrients in the substrate! Bonsai is the practice of a small tree in a small pot but with big features like large trunk and branches compared to the overall size of the tree! The small pot also helps keep the tree in a smaller state
