Chingle Hall stopped me from being a priest in 1997
I think someone was "pulling your leg" with some of these stories. I knew Jack Smith (he worked in the local co-op) who lived at Chantry House until his untimely death, when it passed into the ownership of his sister and her husband. His nephew Tim was a friend of mine. I believe the story of the ghost priest to be true because Jack saw the apparition with his own eyes, and he was not the kind of man who would make up a story like that. Apart from the grave of David Hartley, the rest is a load of supposition and old wives' tales. I never heard any of them despite being born and raised in Heptonstall.
Sorry forgot to say your video of Heptonstalls history is brilliant.
Hi Catherine. Thank you very much for your kind words here on the video! I love Heptonstall & it's History. I always enjoy a walk around the graveyard & Ruins. Nice and peaceful village to be in.
Heptonstall is an amazing village to visit, we've visited and holidayed there, lots of short and long walks start and end in Heptonstall.
thank you for the insightful video! and I am so sorry about your son :( 🙏
Thank you for commenting & kind words. I'm glad you liked the video. Take care, Andy.
been here its a mad place i always wondered what the building would of looked like
Yeah, I'd love to step back in time for the day and have a wander round the place!
Love the charming narration, please do more!
These are really good and interesting videos 👍
Thank you very much! Much appreciated
Very entertaining. Well done.
Thanks very much. I tried to pack as much as I could in to this. One of my favourite places to visit.
My sister was an owner
I have to admit when I was 18 19 we used to break into fountains abbey late at night it all started by me 2 friends and my girlfriend on our first visit we snook past a house just before the abbey took us about 20 mins walking time to get there we heard a voice telling us to go away and we were only there about 3-5 mins and this was in the long haul we ran off as you would and after telling other friends we all got more interested so they tagged along but my other 2 guys mates didn't want to so this time we went to the same place near the Christian cross at the end off the corridor spent about 45mins there we explored ABIT until we heard singing I can guarantee you it was monks chanting a song not in English and sounded about 20 of them we ran out of the corridor room to which the chant was like cut off like turning off a light we gathered courage and went to the area the bell tower to see of anyone was playing a prank we didn't see or hear anything until we left and I will never ever ever set foot in that place ever again in my life we left the building if you go right from the clock tower and left that way in the outhouse to the left there was to me seem like a shape of a person I didn't think it was anything just the position of the moon until as we got shit closer I saw this figure move across the room whilst still looking at us from that day I will never return it was terrifying
Decided to talk a walk through there today at night and I had nothing happend
My grandad was a conductor on the bus that drove through the apparition they weren’t sure if they had hit someone so got out to look when there was no one there
As a Shuttleworth, I have directly traced my lineage back to Col. Richard Shuttleworth. I had no idea about most of this. Now it's a burning desire to visit my family's origins.
Snap
I have felt the same dizzy/swaying in this house years ago, also on a different visit a friend of mine was pushed backwards against the wall in donors room. The way she fell back and the shocked look on her face said it all. She didn't tell the guide about it and a few seconds later the guide told us that Eleanor has been known to push or pull the hair of other girls, especially if their hair was long.... Very weird place.
Another room, not donors room
Hi Ruth, yes, it's a very weird place isn't it. I'll never forget the swaying sensation & It's something I'll always find fascinating when I later discovered that the floor was originally part of a Viking long boat. One of my favourite places is Chingle Hall. Shame its closed to public now. Take care, Andy.
I went to Raymond Brown's funeral in 1961 in Anfield cemetery with my mum I was 8 yrs old..
As I've heard. The family with the little girl lived in that house because everyone in the family exept the little girl had caught the plauge and when the family died the little girl was still healthy. And even when her condition was well they still didn't let her out. So she was stuck with her dead family until she died of starvation
It's a sad story isn't it.
I heard that the owners now do not open to the public now and they have never had any experiences of paranormal activity,I dont know for sure though!
Great video, but the narrator’s voice makes it unwatchable, sorry.
Ah yeee mi old duck i get you
Like Urr chanel want see new content happy all hallowes eve
Thank you & ill be here with more stories soon.
Hey Andy, Happy Halloween!! 🎃🎃🎃🎃I hope you're doing well!! Kx
Hey! A very Happy Halloween to you Shandy! I'm great thanks, hope qlls well with you Xx
I went to a ghost walk in York and a man told me and our class as we went for a 3 day school trip and he told us about Mad Alice Lane we didn't see her but it was still terrifying!!!
Hello Andy, I finally made it to Haworth, fantastic experience. Did you ever take a closer look at that picture which looks like it has a woman standing on the graveyard? Can't find it.
Hi Jim. It's great to hear from you again & I hope your keeping well? Yes, what a place Haworth is, isn't it. I went again a couple of times during the summer and had a look around the graveyard again. I did have a close look at the picture and I had alot of interest in it, with people suggesting different things as to what it could be... it remains a bit of a mystery to be honest.
Unfortunately Pakistans own it
Is that true?
@@chris7921 yeah I when to see it and there was a Asian family at a bbq in the garden what a shame old buildings get taken over or knocked down
Hope you're well Andy. Kx
Hi Shandy! Alls well here thanks. Hope your doing OK X
That happened to me once, in an old upstairs eatery, in Barcelona!! It was all wooden inside and had a wooden, slatted low ceiling. But even though I was sat down, eating, I felt like I was in motion... On the waves. Kx
Wonderful and interesting video ! Thank you ! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you very much.
Enjoyed watching this. Raynham is on my list to see though you can only visit on a few specific dates and not weekends. Being interested in and having experience of the paranormal I can see why after being treated in such a way she never left. A world famous photo of Raynhams staircase.
Thank you, Paul. Im glad you enjoyed watching this. One of my favourite stories & that photo is fascinating isn't it!
Hi Andy thanks yes it's a photo that somehow says "I'm here and for real". Got to see the staircase in the flesh. On my list.
Brilliant video, I seen mickelgate today , where exactly where the spikes on mickelgate situated
Thank you very much. Isn't it great to see! The spikes were placed on the very top of Mickelgate so they were visible for all to see. Thanks again for your comment. Andy.
@@andyproctorghoststoriesuk4146 ooo how grisly! I love it right on the top , keep up the good work x
I took a picture in Victoria's bedroom of the ivory mirror and I got a lady in grey it looks like she is hanging and the is a man standing next to her
I have now found a picture I took in a different room and I got a ghost in the picture
It has to be a stormy night for her to appear not just winter and .. she is definitely real she was out last night, scared the life out of me thought someone was dying 😂
We were standing as part of a completely still and silent tour group at Chingle Hall (except for the guide talking) in the girl's room, when my daughter quietly nudged me. Turning to see what she wanted she pointed in horror at her hair. She has really thick long hair and one single strand was rising straight up of its own accord at the side of her head. We stared in horror. The rest of her hair was completely strait and hanging below her shoulders. This one hair seemed to be lifted straight up! She suddenly panicked and flattened it back down. Afterwards I wished we'd alerted the guide and the group to it but we were too polite to disrupt the tour. After telling our family what happened on arriving home, my sister and her 45 yr old keen photographer boyfriend vowed to go the next weekend as they were intrigued. The boyfriend took his reliable and expensive camera. He took pictures outside, but when it came to taking photos indoors he was baffled by the camera refusing to work. He couldn't understand why. When they got outside after the tour the camera began to work. He had quite a short temper and his annoyance and confusion with the situation is legendary 😁 We all came away with the sense there was something paranormal at the hall, most certainly
Nice bro. Well done !
I wonder how many interesting lives and stories have been lost in time.
I know. I've often thought this too... I would love to step back in time for a day or so... so many undocumented stories we will never know about. Fascinating!
Andrew this is Excellent ,I have to say the camera work is stunningly good ,Along with your presentation .I can see a series on the horizon
Hi Simon. Thank you so much! It really means alot to me to read your comment here. I wish I had more time to put together some more stories as it's been a while now. Also, I learnt alot from you & your stories from here so thank you, Simon. I've always been a fan of yours. Wishing you a super Christmas & All the very best for 2022. Andy.
imagine how many ghosts in concentration camps where millions were murdered ?
I had my tenth birthday party here. 1993.
Nice One Mate
I’m staying here as typing this comment, currently on night 3/4 and I’ve yet to encounter any spooky events 👻
‘During the 14th century, Scotland invaded Northern England demanding large amounts of taxes’ (Shows a picture of some cavalry from several hundred years later)
John Wall the priest decapitated was my great grandfather x11 if i counted correctly. I'd love to go visit and pay my respects.
Wow, that is amazing Cindy! 👍👍👍
Absolutely Brilliant
Thanks V much
I missed the opportunity to visit and stop over. My inlaws did do though. Very informative video, couple of details missed out, but iam a sucker for details. Should have included the chingle hall scream. No matter how many times i listen to it, stick it on at 2am and it shites anyone up. All the best from lancashire.
Hi...thanks, I really tried to include as much as I could in the video... I didn't know about the Scream though?! I'll have to look that up & have a listen. Take care, Andy.
@@andyproctorghoststoriesuk4146 Yes its on hampshire ghost club under chingle scream. Best heard in the wee hours for effect. All the best.
Lovely, informative video, thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
I'm here now 545..going to walkabout tonight.. Take some pictures.. Its like stepping back in time.
Hi. Yeah, it's a great place to visit isn't it. I really enjoyed being there and the atmosphere. Hope you had a good day.
hiya Andy I hope you're keeping well! this is a fab video one of my faves I think. I took the dog for a walk here one lovely warm sunny evening a few weeks back and while it was a fab walk and well go again for sure there was a sense of being unwelcome and being watched in certain areas of the grounds and the woodlands too. id love to go inside and see what the vibe is inside!
Been there. Hyped up
You should organise a ghost hunt here
