    Most of my cutting boards are edge grain and one thing that draws customers at shows is the variety of colors. Especially when I include purpleheart, canary, padauk, along with light woods and other dark wood. I never put feet on cutting boards so they can be used on both sides. I put finger grips on the ends. Every board includes a free can of board butter. Having some $5 products available catches attention and often increases the total sales.

    not sure why you put water on it and then sanded it again, you only want to take the high spots off after water with your final grit its a very light sanding, otherwise you sand it all back and it does nothing for you once you get under the layer you raised

    TIP........ Odies oil is twice the cost of ACKS abrasive and Acks carnuba wax, there is no better on cutting boards or applied on anything else Ben.

  • @doriglenn1358
    @doriglenn1358 День назад

    As soon as you said, Finish- I was thinking of Odie’s Oil and hoping you didn’t submerge the cutting boards in mineral oil. I understand mineral oil keeps leaching which kinda grosses me out at the thought of it. 😬 But you just need a tiny few dabs of Odie’s compared to so much other finishes- I love that stuff! Thanks for great tips- on my way to see the other videos! 👍🌟🤘

      I really think Odie’s Oil pays for itself because of how long it lasts and how quick and easy it is to apply.

    A down cut blade will push most of the dust below the board and minimize the dust on the cut line. They're also great for use on a laminated top to prevent chip outs.

I need to cut rubber/soft plastic baseboard that’s about 3 inches tall and 1/4 inch thick. What blade speed should I use? Slower so as not to melt the material? Or does it matter? Thank you.

    I had this model and it worked OK on some 3/4 plywood cutting 8 inch 1/4 rounds. It wondered right to left a bit, but the deal breaker was the trigger. It was either super slow(unusable), slow (metal speed) and the full power. I really had to move slowly cutting the rounds, but it did works. I had more roundness clean up than I expected. I returned it and went with the HP version that had a "special buy" deal at home depot.

    Fun video young man , great to see young people with an interest in wood working. The dog hole blocks and clamps are the only things there worth having. Add up the dollars you spent on all the other little gimic bits and think . A centre finder can be made with scraps of wood and you could drill a hole to suit your pencil. Most jigs and measuring aids can be made for no real cost from scraps. I'm an old man and i have bought various ( good idea) at the time things that in reality just don't get used,, or dont really work. Save your $$$ and just enjoy your passion and livelyhood. Just remember..the more tools you have means more storage needed and more time wasted searching for them .
