I just assumed that when they took a left turn with the songwriting, Mikael felt compelled to don a more appropriate look from the era he was drawing inspiration from - 'cause let's be honest.. that looks like something Morrison or Hendrix woulda worn. But no... there it is. Neat piece of a puzzle in place. For me at least.
