good job guys!! im a mechanic and at first when i started to work on dd15s I used to struggle a lot when removing the pan! let alone put it back on its place! and its more tricky because most parts in this entige are made out of plastic so its easy for them to break or crack... it was such a pain but then I did exactly what you did with the jacks on each side and it worked

That left-side 'drain plug' is higher up the side of the pan than the one on the right side. Should not ever have to loosen that one on the left.

Hello there. I have a 1977 24ft Nisqually with a 5.7, 280 out drive. It’s not picking up water through muffs. I pulled the water pickup hose from where it connects to the outdrive and put my water hose into it feeding up to the pump up in front of the engine. That works as it should with no overheating. My question is; from where the hose connects to the outdrive, down to the water pickup holes in the lower unit. Is there a pump/impeller or other mechanisms that could fail causing water to not go up to the hose?

That's what I've been doing, buying junk boats. I have many 270 and 280 that were fresh water boats. Still cheaper than buying a new outboard.I/O volvo are bullet proof

And this here folks is why we have the EZ drain plug instqlled.

You can just pull the transmission off and leave the outdrive on the boat to access the ujoints, correct?

What capacity are those jacks ? I bought some for work , I wasting time looking for stuff around the shop so I added some to my tool box

That's a whole lot of complaining, wow. 1. Dana makes axles for Dodge. 2. You can set the caliper on top of the leaf spring. And even if you couldn't, it's anything but in your way. Bleeding brakes because you have to take off the caliper because it's in your way? You want a brake hose that's 8" longer? Absolutely ridiculous. You don't work on stuff very often, do you.
