I saw this video when it just came out and I watched the whole thing. I had your words on the back of head but didn’t really thought much of it. But I relate SO much man! It doesn't seem to affect me negatively if I add one avocado per day - I assume because avocado is still water-rich in comparison to something like walnuts. What seems to cause me more issues is high salt and high-dehydrated foods (even if they're low fat!) If I make a nut-based dressing that is high in fat, it can cause a slow-down in my gut, for sure. If I "treat myself to cooked food," I almost always have a big slow-down, bloated feeling, and even inflammation. Guess it's 100% raw from here, which I have no problem with. I've been experimenting in the culinary aspects of raw living foods, but even that isn't necessary. Nothing beats a good, simple salad, or plain fruit. When I ate only fruitarian last year for 6 months, any bit of coconut or avocado would slow me right down. I did not enjoy that. Fruitarian caused the ultimate spiritual feeling, lightness, and energy in my body and being - and anything that wasn't fruit or a smoothie would create noticeable fatigue in my body. I'd be fruitarian all of the time if I still lived in a tropical area with access to ripe, flavourful fruit. Digestion was beginning to improve on fruit-only, however when I went on a 38 day juice fast, that was when the real long-term benefits of a speedy bowel transit time set in. I cleared a lot out over 38 days, and since then I haven't had too many issues with getting clogged up. Like you, if I do have a feeling that things are slowed-down, I just drink a tall glass of apple juice and off to the bathroom I go usually within minutes. I know a lot of raw vegans only promote a low-fat raw diet, however I'm really curious to know if a higher fat (not overdoing it, but just more than 10%) really makes such a big difference in things like weight and body composition if the fats are coming from whole foods such as avocados or fresh coconut. One thing I noticed, is that I feel that my brain functions better when I don’t eat carbs or limit my carb intake. On “cheat days” or meals I will consume a ton of carbs like fries, pizza, pasta, etc. I then end up experiencing what I call a Sugar rush, then a crash and feel terrible. I’m my best self when fasting or what I also noticed about myself is when I don’t eat carbs.
