Pan Blistered Shishito Peppers
This is a delicious way to prepare your Shishito peppers. The recipe is even easier than growing them. These peppers end up so tender and they pull away from the stem so easily. They make a great side dish or snack.

I was going on a 2 day trip so I grabbed anything I could from the garden before the enemies robbed me. My corn was finally planted also, hopefully not too late in the season.

I walk you through my first time pruning the fruit trees I've planted in my food forest. I'm no expert but maybe you'll learn something.
Birth of a food forest - First yard and garden tour

A tour of my yard and garden. This is a view before most of the work is done. I go over future plans of how I want the food forest to look and operate.
Potatoes can be poisonous to chickens. They are in the nightshade family
@@sandraclay169 I'll avoid in the future. They are all doing great luckily
Your hen making that noise is laying an egg.
You’d like the Bachans Hot & Spicy version of the bbq sauce. Give it a shot and lmk what you think.
Any store that carries it or I need to buy it online?
From all the videos I've been watching on pruning, fruit trees, you've done well, all the angels were great.
Thank you. The trees have all gotten a lot bigger so I'll have a lot more work to do this winter.
Micro-potato. That one’s for Barbie and Ken.😂 love the clucking.😊 Good yield for a potato soup. Yummy.
Nice one ❤❤
Nice that’s looking pretty good. I always gently salt the eggplant, give it 30-45 minutes to rest, and then pat them dry before introducing them to the oil. Helps prevent them absorbing oil and keeps their texture from getting soggy.
I'm gonna give this a try with some of the Italian eggplant I have that is much thicker. Working with this Chinese eggplant seems to be another beast.
That’s a nice haul. We need Abe Lincoln updates, did it survive the 2 days??
Diatomaceous earth works pretty good for keeping the ants at bay
I'll give that a try also. I have plenty of borax so I think I'll attack them on 2 fronts.
Am amazing harvest, truly reminiscent of a treasure húnt, new subscriber here from @homesteadinginjamaica.
I was very happy with the treasure! Thanks for checking out my channel.
Got dizzy with all the camera movements. Nice harvest! I’m a newbie to gardening. Hope mine do as well as yours
Thanks! The next video will have some movement also. In the future I'll try to be more stable. Even if you don't get as many you can always try next year :)
Why don’t you sit down your camera? Too much movement, it gave me a headache so I didn’t finish watching your video.
@@ninfadoyle1450 I'll start using a tripod more in the future. Some people like the first person view, like you are there.
The potatoes are really delicious, try your best
Need to get yourself a tripod so you can hook in with both hands👌👌😁😁
Haha I have one but haven't bothered using it. 2 hands would have been nice for the potatoes though.
They may be small but I am sure it will be delicious.
What an amazing harvest, I just love to watch potato harvest videos.. New friend here from Growing My Own.
It was definitely a fun treasure hunt. This was my first solid potato harvest .Thanks for watching!
You had a very nice harvest. New friend here. Showing you support. Enjoy your potatoes. Happy gardening 😊
Thanks for taking the time to watch! Hopefully a lot more good stuff to come.
Awesome harvest! Your definitely gonna be enjoying that harvest! 😊
Your soil is really fluffy! What is the name of that marine compost? I might want to get some!
I'll need to go back and see if they have more bags because I don't think I have any footage of the bags. I think it was a Canadian product though, or at least made with Canadian seafood. There was already a solid base in the beds before the compost. Look into promix for something light and fluffy that can be purchased from home Depot. It can get pricey if you need a ton of it though
You gotta have a side channel where you prepare and cook your harvest lol. I bet you got some decent ways to chef up those taters
@@jefferydeverin903 I'll be doing some cooking right on here soon enough 😁
“Oh yeah, we eating tonight” 😂 I laughed with you after you said that
@@jaywlazlowski6395 I was hoping the rest of my harvest was gonna be bigger than that potato marble.
@@SlowAndHomesteadyNJ that ended up being a nice harvest dude!
@@SlowAndHomesteadyNJthose small potatoes sell for a lot more per pound than the biggies. Mainly because you don’t have to process them, you can just throw them on a pan with some oil and salt and toss em in the oven
@@jaywlazlowski6395 I was surprised how many I got. Can actually eat good tonight haha.
@@SlowAndHomesteadyNJ you’re eating good for the rest of the month bro!
Keep up the good videos!
@@nitishjain5393 thank you!
Hello fello New Jersey friend! Thank you for this tip! I can't wait to get one of these set up in my yard!
Glad you found the video! They make a nice difference as long as you also get rid of all other sources of standing water around your property.
We’ve been using Cutter Backyard Bug Control. Has the added benefit of helping against ticks and other insects that may not make their way into the buckets. Are you in an area that has a bunch of standing water around of your property?
I plant a lot of things in the ground so I try to stick with things approved for organic gardening. Wondercide is a product I've considered trying. I do live near a lake so I need to stack multiple mosquito defenses.
Keep up these life changing vids and u will soon have 100 subs..
Thanks buzzard
Thanks, i like that idea :)
mosquitos have a right to deend themselves.....
I'm not sure what you mean.
would be beneficial to you to actually break up that dunk
Looks like it's working as is!
Dūnk
Do they fill up when it rains?
Mine so far haven't because they are under bushes and trees. When you check on them monthly you can dump any excess water. Another option is drilling a hole or 2 at the level you don't want water going above so it just drains out the side.
🤣 'This lid from Amazon...' I like how you tried to make it sound like you didn't know, what a Bubble Bucket is... for anyone that does hydroponic... you know 'Tomatoes' if you have problems with fungus gnat larvae... dunks work for them too, that or try Spinosad.
Haha thanks man. I actually did do a large treatment with mosquito bits on my raised beds and it seemed to help a lot. It's in one of my other vids.
Will it kill my cat if she drinks it o.o
If you watch the video, this is answered.
No, the active ingredient BTI will not harm mammals.
My bad for not watching through gents XD I see now that lid is actually pretty crucial. Makes it an EASY project.
Nope it is only dangerous to larvae. It won't harm mammals, birds, or humans. People use this stuff in fish ponds and bird baths. You just don't want your car falling into the bucket by accident.
You could wrap chicken wire or similar stuff over the roof if you already have that on hand.
What are you using to film?
This was just my pixel phone but for my others I'm using the DJI osmo pocket 3. It isn't waterproof so I use my phone when it's raining.
Where’d you get those strawberry nets?
Those are made from 3 separate items on Amazon. The hoops that stick in the ground, the clips that snap the netting to the hoops, and a large roll of bug netting that I cut to size. Look up one item and you will get suggestions for the others.
I have this variety as well and they are awesome.
I'm liking them a lot so far. I'm definitely going to be adding some larger varieties though also.
Hey. Can I come visit your food forest please? I’m in Jersey too and I want to do what you and James prigioni are doing. Please …
Hi, I don't think my wife would want any strangers at the house but I'm willing to answer any questions you might have about getting started. I'm pretty new to this also but I think I could help you get started.
Thanks for sharing. Very interesting and informative my Soil Brother 💚
Slow and steady wins the race. I think 5 years from now your yard will be really awesome. Keep up the good work.
Looking good Spex
