If this video violates any will of the pianist or of the theater, I will gladly remove it without problems, just let me know. No disrespect or hate is meant to be expressed towards the artists mentioned in my videos ;).
Going to this concert was really exciting because I really didn't know what to expect, knowing that his interpretations are often described as bizarre.
That being said, from the first note I knew that this concert was gonna be amazing.

Chopin - Funeral March (Score)
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.21 час назад
Chopin's Funeral March is one of his most iconic compositions, formally the third movement of his Piano Sonata No. 2 in B-flat minor, Op. 35. Composed in 1837, this somber and deeply evocative piece is characterized by its mournful, steady rhythm and dramatic, grief-laden melody. Its powerful opening theme contrasts with a lyrical, almost consoling middle section before returning to its solemn ...

Grieg - In the Hall of the Mountain King [Piano]

I wrote this arrangement trying to stay as faithful as possible to the sound of the original orchestral version of this piece. I tried my best to emulate the timbres of the respective instruments on the piano, despite the various limitations. Hope you like it :) I infinitely thank my dear friend (and first subscriber of this channel 😁) Mariano Riefolo who helped me in filming this video, and wi...

Anche con questo brano, Pogorelich da'la sveglia a diversi pianisti😂
I find his style and results so less interesting and convincing than his playing of 15-20 yr. ago .......a shy shadow. Still good, but a shy shadow.
it's very sad that artists can be so tunnel visioned that they're brainwashed into wearing silly, useless masks that don't do anything except harm themselves
Thank you Claudio. Compare this recording with this one by Ivo in his twenties. ruclips.net/video/VI0wnb3DV5A/видео.html This all sounds the same: heavy chopped playing with no dynamic shadings.
Terrible!
I LIVE IN TERLIZZI BARI AND I WAS AT THAT CONCERT
Thank you very much Claudio for sharing. Much appreciated.
I remember his appearances in London in the mid-1980s and he always wrapped up, as though chilly, whenever off the platform - sometimes in those colourful scarves to look trendy! Of course he played from memory then, and was never too disposed towards audiences. I always felt he was doing us a favour, not that he appreciated our attendance. Rarely looked really contented or happy, he epitomised the struggles of the artist. Strikingly handsome back then, and I say that as a straight bloke. An enigma of an artist.
The great musician holds himself in reserve, and yet still in complete freedom without the least desire to show off. He lets the Music speaks for itself. Beauty arises natually. Authentic and senza "ego"
The music is consistently flowing. The richness of harmonies are always afresh,as though this is the 1st time I am listening to them
Great vibes. ( the musical phenomena reflects I.P's great musical experiences ) It reminds me of S.Richter's 3 recitals I attended in Athens in 90s
All of I.P's musical genius is clearly manifested here. His artistry dominates all distractions. He is beyond all levels of musical Enlightenment. No pianists from this era can surpass his supreme musical conciousness
Listen to Myra Hess in the Schumann Variations......😅
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌
In the early 80s in Pescara he was playing Beethoven's Sonata op. 31 n. 2. At the beginning of the first movement he noticed that there was a guy with a tape recorder. Well, at the end of the first movement he stopped, left the stage and demanded that the man with the tape recorder be thrown out! More than 10 years later, again in Pescara, he began the recital with Mozart's Fantasy in D minor and instead of concentrating on the music he started looking left and right in the front rows of the parterre 😂
The encore is Chopin,Nocturne in E major,op.62 n.2
Thanks! I'm gonna update the description

THANK YOU so much for sharing this with the world. Ivo Pogorelich is in a class by himself and brings profound insights into already-extraordinary compositions by extraordinary composers.
Thank you, Claudio; this is a treasure. Like with so many other pieces, Ivo brings in new life, uncovers new, hidden dimensions. Sadly, many people fall short of understanding and appreciating his playing.
This permutation of the variations in Schumann does not make any sense.
Any sense - to you? It doesn't make any difference.
It makes all the difference in the world, at least for the Author.
Not to a blockhead, of course not😅
why on earth does he wear a mask. he is a believer?
Say - what have you been smoking?
Unfortunately so🤦🏽♀️
What makes that so offensive to you?
thanks for the recording, sir. I love the dark master Ivo P.
It doesn´t help any musician to put such bad sounding recordings on a public platform, its an utterly unmusical behaviour.
Well, that's true, but I think that would only apply for a pianist that is not so well-known, because anyone that has listened to Pogorelich's studio recordings knows how great he is. I'm not gonna debate on this topic though, because what you say is totally valid and understandable. What I can say is that I uploaded this video with the purpose of documenting something that would've been otherwise lost forever. You could think that this recording only does a disservice to the artist, and that could be, but I can assure you that it wasn't the intention here.
Sorry but I've never heard such crap in my life. Research Argerich Racmaninov 3 with Rostropovich - a beautiful performance with sound that could only be described as appalling (and there are thousands of others I could name). And yet, those who weren't at the concert can now get the chance to hear that electrifying performance for themselves. It is the same with Ivo. I personally cannot afford to fly thousands of miles to hear his concerts so I am grateful that they are put onto RUclips. Would you say that people shouldn't post early Horowitz recordings because they are of bad sound quality? You say it is unmusical to post this - I totally disagree with you if this type of post brings these wonderful concerts to a wide range of people
The sound is quite acceptable honestly. I’ve heard far worse from audience recordings! The two replies above make very good points about the value of bootleg recordings as well.
@@d_r_e_a_m_b_o_a_t I think that the sound is indeed very good. I don't know who @pianostream8312 is but he/she needs to shut up!!! I am very grateful to Claudio for posting this (and amazed that he was so calm after the unpleasant comment - I wouldn't have been!)
@@petergolding5733 Wholeheartedly agree with you.
How can such an easy soundijg piece be so hard
Yeah, it does sound easy, but getting the right sound is actually so difficult. I can't deny that I've spent some days just trying to record it😅
the new EP !
So beautifully played. Sounds like Chopin not like some other renditions, which remind me of angry gorilla banging on the keyboard;)
one more minute waltz
I was listening to this with my dog, and now we’re both staring at the ceiling, contemplating life.
The beginning sounds preludish
Wow, davvero bella interpretazione!
@@claudiopioriccopiano Grazie a te! Sono completamente d'accordo: ogni interpretazione è unica e porta il nostro tocco personale, pur rispettando la visione del compositore. Sono felice che ti sia piaciuta la mia interpretazione e il tempo che ho scelto!🙏🏻
Now I have a reason to learn a more unique song/piece (and instrument) assuming that it isn't just a trend.
cant wait for the next beethoven drop
Chopin, when will you come back to Poland? The occupation ended 106 years ago. We are waiting for you!
Even in the future, he still delivers the best music around. Much better than most of today's current music, ya know.
Just uploaded my version of this waltz today… well… I’m just messing around.
Wait wait, first Mozart...then Chopin??? You're telling me that Classical musicians will put an end to current music????
That makes if a new release! Could any of us composers be so lucky? We'll never know. Thats why I'm leaving all of my written music to my great grandchildren. They can figure out what to do with it!
looks like unfinished work
Damn, every composer is being brought back from the dead nowadays! 😂 Wonder who will come back next month!
Could you make a piano tutorial with the notes of the keys on the piano for this piece?? I love your videos!!
Chopin Released a new Album
Waiting for next release in 2155💀🙏
Even dead for centuries, Chopin is probably more worthy than me 😂
Thank you.
Just wait till you see what i have coming 🔥🔥💯🗣
Mozart and Chopin dropping new music wasn't my prediction for 2024
Don’t even think about putting GTA 6 comments/memes
Beautiful song and nicely played! When I listen to piano music like this it inspires me to continue playing the piano. I am new at piano, but have composed a few songs now. My first song is called "Two Moons Apart" and is on youtube. I hope to make great piano music one day. Maybe someone will have time to listen to my song. I hope it sounds at least relaxing :)
If this new Waltz is undiscovered then how do you know about it?
Well, technically it's "recently discovered", but that would've been too long of a title lol. By undiscovered, I mean that it was undiscovered for ≈200 years, up until some days ago.
Can’t wait for new Rachmaninoff hit 🔥
