I show how I recorded my Yamaha U1 on an upcoming Bigelow's Treehouse release called One More Voice. I close-miked the piano with a stereo pair of Oktava MK-319s and used a Rode NT4 as a room mic. UGGH - you skipped the part about HOW TO EXPORT IN MIDI - you just assumed that part and that is kind of a key part of the process.
Thanks for pointing this out. It would have been clearer if I didn't gloss over it in the video. To export MIDI from a Studio One song, open the "File / Save As" menu option, then set "Save as type" to MIDI. It's easy to do, but not very intuitive.

I appreciate your efforts on this video. My top pick was the R40 ribbon, with the PR40 dynamic coming in 2nd place. The NT1 was my least favorite. I was good on the Bb/F trombone way back in the day. Now, some 45+ years later, I'm struggling to get my sound back. Keep up the good work 👍

Looks like a difficult instrument to play 😁 I don't get how the notes work at all relative to the sliding 😂
You have to be in the right position *and* you have the right amount of tension in your embouchure. If you mess up either one, you either play off pitch or the wrong note entirely. I'm starting to understand why big bands are always looking for good trombone players.
