I usually like both movie and book versions but I enjoyed the movie more than the book, idk if its cause I grew up to the film and I'm a cinematography nerd...but yeah...but i also didn't complete the series lol

I love the film for its own merits and I have watched it many times over the years. However, the novel is sooooo much better (more detail and exposition) and different enough from the film to be refreshing if you have yet to read it. I think I seem to recall reading something at some point about the various illustrations in the film being taken almost directly from the original novel by Arturo Pérez-Reverte (El Club Dumas -- The Dumas (as in the author of The Three Musketeers, et al) Club). Both are tremendously entertaining works in their own right.

This is one of my favorite ever series. I totally get what you say on Season 3 but I read that they didn't know they were filming the last season until half way through. They got canceled and the creators original plan of 5 seasons, couldn't come to fruition. And though they kept the ending the wanted, evidently it was gonna be well developed in the forth and fifth seasons. Vanessa is one of my favorite characters ever.

yea, 99% of the 'witches' i've gotten to know over the decades, are absolutely repulsed by the wiccan label. i don't think the seemingly repellent effect comes from the tradition itself, it's pretty much self-help rhetoric with a strong emphasis on nature and whatever mystical beings or archetypes match your aesthetic at any given time. but the general consensus i've gotten is 'Wicca' is basically Christianity repackaged for Pagan minded individuals and Christianity is ultimately Judaism for the gentiles. anyone that knows any bit of religious history knows the relationship the Abrahamic faith systems have had with "witches" throughout the centuries.. the optics weren't cute in the past and they aren't great to this day. another thing that pisses a lot of practicing witches off is the marketing 'Wicca INC' has engaged in. Wicca is thought of as the beginning and ending of witchcraft by most newbies. this is very problematic as 'Wicca' was born yesterday, in the grand scheme of magical systems. and like most massively proliferated religious systems, it took from much older, more authentic systems, giving little to no credit whatsoever to the source of these bits of knowledge they line up for potential buyers. every Wiccan author lists the same correspondences as if they thought it up themselves. which btw, if you know how to reverse engineer the origin of things, you will find that a lot of the correspondences spread by Wicca, come from old school Catholicism. especially when you get into 'calling the corners' and all the bits of info Wicca applies to each direction/element. basically, if you're a witch, you're a witch. it is literally something inside of you that reaches out to the natural world and to the worlds beyond. that means feeling things out for yourself. getting to know the various elements you'll need for *your* path, one on one. not thru the lens of some shady author [that was probably created in some publishing houses' basement] you know next to nothing about, as a person or as an 'official' magical practitioner. if you're just mimicking an archetype you saw in some media and you've read a couple books on Wicca, you're not a witch, you're a LARPer. and i say this with absolute love, no hate whatsoever in my heart for trendsters. not being a witch is not a bad thing, it will not end your world. but wasting your time, your money and your energy trying to appear outwardly as something you aren't actually called to be in the first place, is genuinely tragic. we are only given so many hours per life. don't waste them trying to be someone other than yourself. that is one of the few WRONG paths to take in life. find yourself first. pathways will open up to you after you do this one deceptively simple task. ) 0 (

Is not a good film, i like this genre and im an artist so i appreciated the fashions,make up and aesthetics,, i mean visually is very appealing,but the story takes you nowhere really and it was hard to watch.
