I see max as the perfect person to have been given the powers. Just a regular girl trying to graduate and nothing crazy going on in her life! It seems people wirh powers in movies or games they almost always seem to be this genre of “regular” person but with super powers!

@@MateonaiseI also just wanted to say, you may not read this at all, but do some theory vids on nightmare max. I really love her character since she’s a variant of Maxine. Plus there’s not a ton of content revolving around her. For example, just explain who she is and go in depth about her character. We already know she’s evil but explain her origins. Imo, she’s like a demon in a way. Just a suggestion

​@@Mateonaise I would have loved to see that comet instead of the storm or even crazier Both. i feel like they had their plans for the beginning and the ending and struggled to stitch everything together to keep it coherent on some parts.

@ i agree it wouldve been cool to see the comet and the storm somehow tied together. I honestly thought the meteor shower was going to be part of the story more but maybe they thought its be too similar to the first game having another natural disaster

@@hanse_x when i was reading moses and tony’s comments on the crosstalk app i got the impression that tony was a female. Not that it matters obviously and i could be wrong. But it does seem like it seems like the long distance thing may not work for them being how unhappy moses seems at least. I never considered diamond having feelings for moses so i am curious what makes you think so?

@Mateonaise having never played the game in English I can't really tell Tony's gender, but I guess I'll refer to them without a gender from now on! As for Diamond's feelings, the game is pretty explicit towards the fact that she loves Moses. I don't remember the exact moment, but I think it was during Episode 3: you can find a letter written by Diamond at Caledon's library (right before Yasmin's office), and if Max reads it she will learn that Diamond loves Moses and that the letter was a sort of confession. Of course Diamond never gives the letter to Moses, and Max never mentions this to neither of them. Once I found out this information, I saw Diamond's interactions with Moses in a completely different way. You will find her under every Moses posts, and I remember that she even posts about conflicting love or something like that. There's another moment where she's talking with Reggie (I don't remember the Episode, but I do remember they were at the Snapping Turtle) and you can hear their conversation. They will both talk about their love situations, with Reggie talking about Vinh and Diamond talking about Moses. They never mention them, but it's clear they know who the other is referring to and it's easy for the player to figure out who the two love interests are. There, Diamond comes out as demisexual (I think), because while Reggie says that she can forget her current love by "getting laid", she says that sex doesn't matter to her. She only cares about the feelings she gets when she's with that person, and that no one ever made her feel like this. We can understand that she is frustrated about the love she feels and wishes she could get over it, enforcing the idea that she knows she can't date Moses as he already has a boyfriend/girlfriend. Even at the game's finale, at the Snapping Turtle, Diamond talks with Moses and he says he really cares about her, but she doesn't confess his feelings. While playing the game I thought their story would get a resolution, like Tony and Moses officially breaking up or Diamond still confessing to him, but nothing happened. That's why I think this story could (and should tbh) continue in the game's sequel, as it seems like Diamond will get a major role

That was actually just another timeline version of himself! Just like how alderman saw himself from days ago. Safi never transformed into reggie!

I always thought the reason was timey-wimey stuff. Like how the mug ended up in the tree or how some of the painting in the FAB are different. My theory is max's powers are subtly screwing up space instead of time like they did in the first games nightmare sequence. ​@Mateonaise

@@Malory-Malicious i think some of the other “timelines” that we see are just things that happened in the past/future like aldermen seeing himself From the start of the game we can see bits of the timelines blending together which explains why we saw safi alive after hearing the gunshot. They make it seem like being at the observatory where she died, more supernatural occurrences take place for example when reggie saw himself. So i think just alderman showed up at the right time because max and moses saw the past version of him before he arrived. Just the area as a whole is prime ground for these events since its where safi died

However i am aware of its flaws, i do think safis villain arc was a bit sudden and i feel like chapter 4 should’ve been a bit longer. But i do think its decknines best entry in the series this far! Im glad im not the only one who likes this game, i see so much unwarranted hate and most of those people are just upset that chloes not in it

@ Of course! I agree, it's absolutely their best entry so far. I think that chapter 4 being longer could've fixed a lot of my problems with it, but it was overall an amazing game to me! I do kind of understand why people were upset about Chloe not being in it, but, even as an avid fan of the first game, I could understand their reasoning for it. I personally feel as though, realistically, Max and Chloe's relationship couldn't have worked out long-term, considering they both have a lot of issues they need to work through-but that's just my take on it. I wish more people would give it a chance! I loved it a lot. The animation in particular was spectacular, and I feel like it really did add so much to the characters through its subtlety, the showing as opposed to outright telling being so impactful. I'm happy with what we got too! I hope to see more, since I'd really love to learn more about the powers especially. I wonder what the next game will be about!

@ i 100% agree!! I love chloe and am a pricefield shipper but i can also think realistically and that they probably wouldnt had lasted. Like chloe told max to sacrifice her and save her mom and the town but max chose to save her instead. Thats some trauma nobody could imagine how to process. Plus thats not to say we will never see her! Since we know max is coming back and at the end of the game max says shes gonna stop hiding from her so who knows what will happen! But I support whatever decision they make. For the next game im so excited to see where they go! I wonder if itll still take place at caledon or maybe max will go back to arcadia bay since its been rebuilt. And I imagine safi is trying to get a team for honestly idk what… revenge? 💀 her villain arc is a bit vague but hopefully we find out more in the next game so it will make sense!!

@ Exactly! You put it to words perfectly. They both have some really heavy trauma to work through - like you said, the fact that Max chose to save Chloe even when she specifically asked her not to, it sounds like something difficult to deal with. That's also not mentioning that, in her letter to Max, she says something about how Max is (metaphorically, at least) stuck in the past, and how she needs someone she can be sporadic with to experience all of life's chaos with. It feels realistic. I would really like to see Chloe in the future, though! I'm excited, too. I'm not really sure what Safi's goals are, but I'm hoping they expand on them when the next game comes. She does say some things to Max that their powers are "divine," and could make them gods - I wonder if she plans on gathering more superpowered people to take over? Revenge is more likely, but I'm not sure who it'd be against, since Lucas has been called out, and Yasmin is no longer president.. She seems very reckless in her pursuit of revenge, so I wonder where it'd take her? I do think the post-credits teaser with Diamond was interesting, though. I assume that Safi is going to recruit her, as opposed to Max teaching her about powers. Maybe there will be a choice in the next game that determines whether or not you get through to her and convince her that Safi's cause is not a just one? I'm not sure! There's a lot of possibilities, though!

@@bucklygoing i have two theories for diamond, one is simply that she does have powers and either isnt aware of it yet or has been hiding it. OR she actually doesnt have powers and safi just assumes she does dsue to her havingt a nosebleed. Maybe for some reason safi correlates any nosebleed to powers because she saw it happen to max? that would be a pretty odd assumption on her end. anyways, maybe we see her trying to get diamonds 'powers' out of her but it never does because she NEVER had powers and maybe she gets so frustrated she is threatening diamonds life and max will have to save her but yes the possibilities are endless!!

@@volktol4432 i think some people arent giving it a fair chance is all. I dont feel like there would be so much hate for the game if it was just a new character entirely instead of bringing max back. Not that i would prefer that. I just think some are being overly critical

@ the way i see it is when max went back in time (the first time) to that picture after talking to alderman something happened that messed it up because we see max holding the gun but she doesnt shoot but then we see the storm and safi is talking as if shes from a future timeline. So the way i see it is that one version of max did kill her but when she went back to the time of her being killed she was distracted by what seemed to be an early sign of the timelines combining

@@Mateonaise yeah good point The writing for this game in my opinion is weird and leaves a lot of plot holes Personally I don't want this franchise to be Avengers or something Marvel cuz they showed diamond has powers too I already had suspected her cuz she never got possessed by safi and we didn't need to double expose her but it's weird

With diamond im not sure that she does have powers because the way i saw it was a side effect from the timelines combining and safi is trying to get her on her team for the next game

@@Mateonaise i see in the sense that the idea would be that Max faces someone with powers and i get the idea of what they were going for and i dont generally think its a bad concept i just felt the game just needed a little bit more in a way i'm glad there will be a follow up to it so maybe hopefully it could change. Usually i havent been hard on the LIS games while they arent perfect by any means i usually could immerse myself enough where i am not nitpicking that much, and dont get me wrong i liked this game in terms of the relationships for example i liked Amandas character but to me i felt like we got more scenes with Vinh than Amanda sometimes. People criticise the Chloe situation and i was trying to look at it both sides because in a way i get both, if you are writing for this game and catering to both endings its hard to write her in the story in general because by doing so you would make one of them canon cancelling the other which would negate the point of catering to the audience that was on either side. How it was handled like i dont know i feel like there should have defo been flashbacks to it, but maybe thats for the next game sorry for this long ass paragraph i have played this franchise since the first one came out so its like i write stories and shit so i try to see both sides of the writers and the critics wherever its right or wrong

@ i get what you mean! I agree the romance option with Amanda is a bit lackluster unfortunately because shes one of my favorites in this game. It feels like with every life is strange game one romance option has less content then the other (i.e warren, finn,ryan) i would love for them to be more fledged out equally to cater to all fans. The chloe situation, i wouldve loved to at least get flashbacks to them together outside after arcadia bay, maybe they are saving it for the next game especially cause of one of maxs last lines in the game saying shes ready to syop hiding from chloe so HOPEFULLY we will get a reunion 🤞😭. But i get the situation from both sides, i wouldve loved to have chloe in this game but i also could see why they would take a break from each other. Hopefully this isnt tru but its rumored the reason for her not being in the game is because the publisher square enix doesnt like chloe and made decknine write her out of maxs story

@@Mateonaise i'm mostly speculating tbh, cause i loved the Amanda character too i was just like man there could be more scenes with her just to see what her character is like and the possible relationship with Max like i get why ppl are mad at that and the Chloe thing but i'd say lets just see where the game goes. At the end of the day i finished the game yesterday and i mostly enjoyed it for what it was maybe it sorta becomes like the MCU but im curious to see where Max goes from here and maybe seeing the other characters from the other games intertwined who knows

@@danieldonovan881 I honestly think they might start to intertwine more characters from other games. One because its easier than making a new character. 2 because fans would love it and 3 it keeps the series from being overly expanded and confusing. I would love to see the characters with powers meet! But if that happens i worry what they would do next. It would feel like that would be the end of the series like mcu end game and i dont want it to be so copy and paste like marvel. But im hopeful they are being smart about it and continuing maxs story in the right way without over doing it!

@@BigNerd111 supposedly it was budget cuts. Its clear dontnod had a vision with the game but when it blew up in popularity the publisher square enix told them to go a different route focusing more on max and chloe

@@Jman92854 i think the fun thing about this theory is it could be interpreted in so many different ways!! Personally i see it as the prescotts knowing about the tobangas past and being tied to its history somehow. Following that i see it as the tobanga or this “higher power” giving max the ability to time travel to see if she can make the right choices to either stop the prescotts or just to see how worthy humans are of living and max being the deciding factor due to her decisions throughout the game. im not sure that it was for the need a sacrifice and max messing it up. The way i see it is the prescotts summoned the storm as its been hinted they new of it coming anyway. But thats not to say sacrificing wasnt a possibility! The outcomes are endless!!
