It sure is a pretty airplane, but it's a gas guzzler with high operating cost.
The problem is that Russia does not have the means to build aircraft on the same level as the Soviet-Union. The problem is massive corruption, mismanagement and government agencies lying to keep themselves in power. What they did was reusing old Soviet technology. Both the Il-96 and Tu-214 were build for Soviet Aeroflot in a time when the USSR had a good production line. After 1991, the Russian aviation industry was destroyed and reduced to a shadow under both Yeltsin and Putin. After 2022, Putin demanded that Russia started to build aircraft again, despite that the country does not have the means anymore. Two years later and zero new Russian planes are build.
Well.. Hehehe consider that.. No strings attached now & in the future.. It's urs to enjoy.. As for the engines well lots of problems with the newest western engines.. Than we don't really know how much higher operating costs r or will be but if one consider price of aircraft much much cheaper than western ones (that includes maintenance) than amount of engines maybe won't be relevant especially for countries rich in oil & wanting detach itself from the west for political reasons.. Eh i love competition... Minus olimpics anymore.. Engines smaller that's y more western bigger so more fuel consumption & air drag so perhaps at the end they all close enough.. The only issue is service & parts they always had problems with that.. But if more sold & international cooperation in.. Than.. Who knows.. Depends on price i would be interested in purchasing few..
Wunderschöne Flugzeug, wie eine ,,,Orka“ , auf trockene Erde 👍👍👍
Russia is great!
Best russian aircraft, better that boing and airbus
Big market in Cuba and Iran.
So the Russians re-invented the Airbus 340. They should get to 2 engines within the next 50 years, at this speedy rate.
An ugly clone of an A340, Leats lease all their planes and pay nothing back like they did.
Illyushin IL 86 was built first and before A 340 so it's Airbus who copied Russia airplane.
@leoleoleo688 Russia / Soviet Union build a range of planes civilian and most were airforce. The civilian side maybe some concerns about airworthiness. And yea, a hull, wings and engines underneath it is a concept for a lot of different planes like The Boeing 707 introduced in dec 1957 was also a hull with 4 engines. And the first flight of IL-86 was Dec 1978. Airbus needed a plane with 4 engines for ETOPS regulations. You don't put 4 engines on a narrow body. They used for their A340 the same engines as from their narrowbody A320 CFM-56 And don't know if russia ever used complex systems as full fly-by-wire.
@@LennardA320 But you said "An ugly clone of an A340", which is not true, the IL86 came before by a decade... And yes, the SSJ100 uses FBW.
@edgarguinartlopez8341 It's sometimes hard what plane in the future is derived from what model in the past. Hope you are in the same plane that Airbus is catching up quickly and Boeing has the biggest troubles and maybe not today, but if a plane's lifespan is 30 years the 787 will have huge problems due to already having problems producing them. 777-X new issues and the FAA ruled that boeing can only build a couple like 20+- 737MAX a month. The big airlines in the Middle-East are now concidering the A330-900NEO And most A350-1000 for the wide body market. It is becoming monopoly for Airbus if Boeing can't make a dent in the airo industry. Like SpaceX VS Boeing.
Unfortunately no match for western planes..but if some russian airlines, Cubana, and Air Koryo buy some i m already very happy)
Old technology. Never will be popular. Not being
You forgot the countries that got sanctioned by the West, this will be better than whatever they have in their fleet
This aircraft is ready to accept PD 35 Turbo Fan Engines, 2 PD 35 engines will power this IL 96 400 with 2 crew members, Test will start before end 2024. 4 engines variants will be for military use 3 crew members.
How do you know that this airplaine is ready to accept PD-35 turbo fan Engines and test will start before the end of 2024 ? Can you show just the link if it's possible.
THE BRAND NEW IL-96 (FIRST FLIGHT 1988) 🤣🤣🤣🤣 RUSSIA IS SOOO RIDICULOUS
UAC is start building twin engines version of IL 96, but it will ready because engine which will be use (PD-35) is still being designed
Now boing plane is falling like dead fly
LoL I love how it wants to compare the Il96 to the A350 but it only has 60% of the range and with four engines (instead of two) higher operating cost. A 40+ year old design that has almost no improvements is not a "competitive" product and the only countries that might be buying this (other than Russia) are Cuba and North Korea (because they don't have any other choice).
Soon for sale to the Ukraine 🇺🇦 government!
its range is 11,000 kilometers. 400 passengers. it costs 2 times cheaper. 4 engines are safer than two
@@Rusich945 You're mathematically challenged, right? Why not 6 engines -- even safer than 4!
@@SonovBearWoman LoL.. Good one!.
@@SonovBearWoman B-52?
Same old PS-90 engines, same old Il-96 wing. What is the modernization? And why does this "Russified" plane still have Airbus MCDU's in the cockpit?
Can you build a better one? Because Boeing can't.
thats the reason anglo-saxons want to destroy Russia because Russia can create and build - Russia was first in space Russia stopped nazis - if not for Russia there would be no Israel
Stopped Nazis? Nazis are in power in Kremlin!
Very beautiful aircraft.👍
I like the RUSSIAN aviation industry very much. Both fighter planes and passenger planes are very successful and powerful. The rumor that these planes are faulty and unsafe is a fabrication of Westerners.
Are you being held hostage?
Dumb the dumbest)))

this plane compared to Airbus 321, 350, 380, is 35 years old.
What in the Boeing heavy propaganda is this shit? I especially like the way you've phrased it from 2:06 : "making flight SAFE for passengers"?? U sure about that?👀👀👀 "even though they had some problems at the start" Yeah...u know... *only 346 death in two fatal crashes* , no big deal, right? 💀💀💀💀 Boeing is a CRIMINAL for KILLING 346 with its own hands. We want justice!! 😤😤
Good vid, but a bit short. I'm leaving wanting for the exact specs.

The il 96 400m is a good ai craft and can be a good competitor to boeing and airbus planes.
Unfortunately no, it may only be able to serve as a replacement for western aircraft as nobody wants a quadjet these days
😂😂
This 4 engine-plane is already out of the competition. The PS 91 engines are way too weak in thrust to comptete with GE, CFM and RR engines, both in terms of power and fuel efficiency...
@@mikeldivaldes5166 Zákazník a cestujúci chcú bezpečnosť. A Boeing už nie je bezpečný.
@@gneuhausel And twin-engined aircraft are already safe and even surpass the size of the IL-96-400M. How would a quadjet whose design dates back to the late 80s and has sold poorly worldwide and even in its home country help passengers feel safer when long-range widebody twinjets are everywhere?
I have noticed a couple of airlines are flying from the west coast to Hawaii in the 737-800s and 900s.😊 I think for me, I still need to be on a wide-body traveling over water.😊 😊
Wide-bodies are best for long haul. U are right. you can't be cramped up for long time in the 737

Instead buy a Max directly, along with winglets, even Engines Will be upgraded..
