Dr. Bizzy is a naturopath doctor. We have a conversation about what her job entails. We discuss some of the issues with healthcare in America today. We wrap up our conversation by discussing simple ways to be healthy and to be treatable in case of a health crises. Bizzy has a great way of communicating in a caring and humorous manner.

I visit with Steve. Steve was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at 3 months old. Steve talks his life and overcoming obstacles. Steve has parlayed his challenges and success into a career in motivational speaking.
Thank you all for undertaking this endeavor. It is critical. I have a question for the coaches: how much difference do you think the police uniform makes? You mentioned that you had not seen Lexi in her uniform. Do you think there needs to be a strategy concerning when officers participate, at schools, e.g., in uniform? And for Lexi, are there departmental policies around participating in things in or out of uniform? I ask these questions, because it seems to me that the uniform itself could create a barrier to the kind of interactions you want to foster.
We’ve talked about this in some of our private discussions. I think there is a place for both no -uniformed and uniformed interactions. On one hand the uniform can create a conditioned response that prevents someone from seeing us as we are- human and on the other hand getting used to seeing the uniform and getting to know the person who is wearing it can de stigmatize an officer and make it easier to interact with officers on the job. We don’t have a policy to prevent us from setting up non uniformed events but if we are in a patrol capacity, we have to be fully uniformed. -lexi
Thank you for doing this Ben. I wish we had more of this down here in Longview. I just feel like this is such a tight community that could make a lot of progress if people were intentional. I’m working in the high school as a graduation coach and with our unaccompanied youth and, when I listen to those guys talk, it inspires me and makes me want to do more for my students. I just love the energy they have.
