13. Plate roll-forming
Instead of press-bending, the previous (#12) bent part may be obtained with a roll-forming operation. This time, the simulation utilized flexible solid elements in the blank. Observe the effect of gravity at the end...
12. Thick plate bending
The bending process of the "ideal" tailored-rolled plate is simulated using solid elements and rigid shell tools.
11. Tailored-rolled plate
This simulation shows the result of using special rolls for partially thinning a (solid-element) plate while maintaining the original thickness in the rest of its section. Note that this roll arrangement is not physically possible, because of the interference, but it's done in the simulation to save solution time.
10. B-pillar hot stamping simulation
Automotive B-pillar component formed with hot-stamping. The rigid (shell element) tools are hidden. Blank is modeled with shell elements too. It takes more than one minute, so be patient... DISCLAIMER: If you are one of my M2003B students and have not seen this video, it's better to skip it and go to the next one. If you need to understand the procedure to leverage universal machine data, go on... It's time to prepare the first material* for the stamping simulation. Considering that LS-DYNA needs plastic true strain - true stress, an important step consists of subtracting the elas...
9. Progressive-die forming simulation

Hello, Thank you for your effort in sharing your expertise related to LS-Dyna. I have seen your other Forming simulation videos also. I wanted to request and ask if you can make a video on Die System Module (DSM) feature of LS-Dyna also? Also a suggestion, if you could make your videos in Englisch instead of Spanish, then the video reach and viewership is expected to be more. Or in othercase can you please upload English subtitles with the previous videos. I used auto translation feature and at some places the translation is really weird and really difficult to understand. Thank you once again.
Muchas gracias por esta serie de videos.
Qué bueno que te parezcan útiles. Saludos!
Nice. MAT?
Hello, sorry I can't be more specific: It is a steel grade used in heavy-duty trucks.

Thanks for sharing this Dr. I'm not sure which version you are using R11 or R13 but is there a way to get LS-Dyna R13 without the "influence" of "great" ANSYS? Thanks.
Hello Muhammad. Do you mean without passing through an Ansys reseller in the commercial process? I don't think so. However, they still offer LS-DYNA without the Ansys (workbench) suite.
Thanks for sharing this Dr. Not sure which solver you are using R11 or R13 etc...but is there a way to get LS-Dyna R13 without the "influence" of "great" ANSYS?
There's one student version in the Ansys page. It used to be a little more difficult to get DYNA's evaluation license before pandemics and/or Ansys acquisition of LS-DYNA.
Sir im trying to make a low speed impact analysis for my final project but im in trouble with contact types. I have 12 layers composite upper plate Aluminium 2024 T3 10 layer CFRP and bottom layer is Aluminium too. I have to add epoxy resin in between this layers. I tried to use one way automatic surface to surface tiebreak contact but i took errors. Also tried to add cohesive separately but while im using automatic surface to surface contact i made it like upper aluminium to cohesive 1, cohesive 1 to 10th layer and it doesnt work. Do you mind to share your e-mail ? Can you have a look at my k file please.
what is the recommended way to fast and easy draw in geometry inside prepost of ls-dyna?
Have you tutorial for modeling Concrete Beans or column by ls-dyna?
thanks But I have some questions : 1- Can Student versions model big model? what are its limtataions? 2-can the user draw the model and define the materials inside ansys enivronemnt and export the file to ls-dyna to run ? OR it is necessary to define the materials and interactions inside ls-dyna?
Hello. For your first question, please take a look at www.ansys.com/academic/students/ansys-ls-dyna-student. User can use both methods, but at this moment material models implemented on workbench are limited.

Hello. How did you enable the calculation and display of stress of beam element?
This has to do with the utilized beam formulation. You can find more info in these two links: www.dynasupport.com/howtos/element/beam , www.dynalook.com/conferences/european-conf-2003/ls-dyna-beam-elements-default-and-user-defined.pdf PS. Sorry for the late reply
@@DrSimu THank you so much.....

Gracias doc!
Tampoco lo encontré en la versión 24... Saludos!
Hello, when I do post-processing in LS-PREPOST, after cutting the rectangular mesh of the water part in half, only the outer surface of the shell remains, and the inner mesh is not visible what is the reason
Buen video, nuevo sub

Saludos!
Please publish you videos in English. Your channel is great for ls-dyna if you try to speak in english you will have much more views. Even an English subtitle will help.
I will try it sooner or later. Thanks for your comment!
Siguiendo sus tutoriales doc
Gracias y saludos!
Sir, In book 'machines and mechanisms' example 10.11, the feasible solution having an integer number of teeth is (15,45), with Pd=4. From table 10.6 with 600r.p.m and Pd=4, will hp not be 30 which is much higher than 1 hp original.
Good afternoon! Please tell me if you have experience using DYNA in vibration and acoustic calculations (load application, vibration fixation, corresponding models and material maps). Perhaps you already have a video or information on the basics of vibration analysis or are planning to record it..? Or maybe you can tell me where to find information and examples on this topic? As always, I am grateful to you in advance for the answer!!!
Hello! I have some experience with vibration and acoustics... but almost always there will be one helpful example on www.dynaexamples.com/@@search?SearchableText=acousticseach

Good afternoon. Thank you very much for the tutorial video, thanks to them I have become much better at modeling. I have one questions for you: 1) Please advise which material model can be used to model a polymer material (sealant, mastic), for example, such as is used for vibration isolation of the car body or for sealing the seams of the cooling system of the car. I am very grateful and grateful to you in advance. You're doing a wonderful job!!
You may try *MAT189 or one of the available elastomeric materials, like *MAT_HYPERELASTIC_RUBBER_TITLE
Good job 👌👌
Thanks for your comment
Good afternoon! Thank you very much for your help, all your advice helped me. I'm sure you can help me a little more and answer my question..How can LS - DYNA simulate, for example, a box on a pallet to determine whether it will cause deformation of the pallet and destruction due to high mass..?
You would need to model both parts, set contact between them and apply an initial or operating condition to enforce their impact.

Hello! It's a great job!! Thank you so much for your videos and lessons. Excuse me, but could you help me? Please tell me which type of material is better to choose for EPP (Expanded Polypropylene) material. It is used as an energy-absorbing material, in particular as an organizer in the trunk of cars for tools, as well as for inserting under the bumper. I know its characteristics (Young's modulus, density, Poisson's ratio and there is an experimental stress-strain curve). I am very grateful to you in advance.
Hello!, thanks for your comment. I would give it a try with MAT24, assuming your EPP part is compactly packed. If it is more like a foam, there are several options (MAT57, 63 or 83). In any case, you need to match your load-force curve in compression, like crushing a block of material.
