Joanneum Racing Graz is a formula student racing team. The team consists of students of FH JOANNEUM - University of Applied Sciences. Each year, they construct a racing car to compete with other teams from all over the world.

Once again, we started off strong by finishing all scrutineerings at our first attempt. We showed our talent both in the statics and in the dynamics. For the fourth time in a row, our Business Plan Weasels made it to the finals🥳
One last time the JR24 amazed everyone on the track and one last time we worked hard and celebrated as a team. With that, the 2024 season comes to an❤️

I was on vacation in Austria a couple of months ago, and we happened to be staying close to Spielberg (about a 1.5 hour drive). I convinced my siblings and my parents to go and I couldn' t have done it on a better day. We arrived and the paddock was open. There were GT type cars racing around (maybe testing idk) and there were Formula Student cars doing practice starts of some sort. We even got the chance to get onto the VIP area and make some really good shots of the pit straight with the cars flying down.
Are the guys driving the cars also students or hired racing drivers?

You could see that many new electric teams already struggled a lot in the acceleration, because they most likely could not focus on getting their traction control to work also at low µ yet I think the gap to the fastest time might have been much closer, if we had seen a dry track on this day Nevertheless, very very nicely driven considering the fact that the conditions make the car more diffcult to drive in this case

What are those things towards the inside of the rims??
I'm assuming some tube that's supposed to channel air to the braked to assist in keep the breaks from overheating.

Das ist viele Rennwagen!
Soweit ich weiss, haben die zwei Teams ganz andere Voraussetzungen. Bei der FH gehört FSAE zum Lehrplan, dafür sind die Mitglieder meist weniger lange aktiv im Team und haben Praktike zu absolvieren. Mit beiden Teams ist zu rechnen, wenn es um die vorderen Platzierungen geht.
absolut nichts gegen das joanneum racing team, aber wie kommt es das das tugracing team in der vergangenheit immer etwas besser abgeschnitten hat ? einfach weil die uni im hintergrund viel größer ist, oder sind da die einzelnen Teammitglieder über mehrere Saisonen dabei ? würd mich wirklich interessieren...
