Why would we go to Trista when we know our classmates are in Celdic and they could tell us any news about Trista? Seems a bit pointless. And risky.

Rean really can't read a map. How can Celdic, which sits in the middle of the map, be closer to Ymir than Nord which are both on the norhern side of the map? The localizers could've thought of a better reason why the game wants you to go to Celdic first than "it's closer" because it obviously is NOT!
I'll be honest, I wasn't even looking at the map when he said that. I do remember thinking why does distance matter when we're traveling there through whatever magical nonsense Valimar's got going on though.
@@StrayFrey It's an oddly specific thing to notice while playing, but after I did, I couldn't unsee it anymore and have to tell everyone who plays, because I think it's hillarious. It gets even more ridiculous when he decides between the two remaining destinations.
Rule Nr.1 Go into the bath whenever possible, because it refills your CP!
That is amazing news! I'll try to remember to do that whenever I'm back. I honestly never would have tried this on my own. I'll go in to speak to the manager, Purple, and whoever else, but I'd never think to actually take a bath.
@@StrayFrey It's like staying at the inn only you don't have to pay for it. Later when you get the ability to fast travel, you should spend a few minutes to go back there before every major battle. It make life a lot easier.
Told you Jusis' dad is gonna get worse. But we still haven't hit peak Albarea douchebaggery.
Oh no. I guess I'll just have to hope we get to see Jusis punch him in the face. That'd be ideal~
No, that wasn't everyone. Some people are still in the houses. And I think the store is now ready to use to upgrade your equipment.
Nah, I don't think the Emperor would kill Rean. On the contrary, I'd say there is a greater than zero chance for an arranged marriage between Rean and Princess Alfin. Other than the crown prince, most children of a royal family get married off to other noble families. And while the Schwarzers are only low ranking nobles, they're also personal friends of the Emperor and it doesn't feel too far fetched, that he would leave his daughter in the hands of a young man that was raised by his oldest friend. One who already risked his own life once before to save her on top of that. Rean doesn't know yet, but he's already collecting Imperial Favor Points and I don't think it's a big spoiler to say that the count will only go up over the duration of this game.
Because Rean definitely needed to add more people into his harem...
around 8:40 nope this was after our meeting with our beloved Arianrhod at stargaze tower
Good to know. The timing between this game and azure can be really confusing to me
It isn't though! There's a point much later in this game where it is heavily implied that it takes place right after that battle in Crossbell! I won't say more, because it would be a spoiler. But you can't miss it, because the characters say Duvalie looks exhausted.
@@skyknight0408 Only streaming these games twice a week is killing me! I just can't wait to get further in so I can see all these references and meet the new characters. And then there are still so many more games to go
Oh look, the VA is talking to herself again.
I wonder if that was awkward for her to do or if it happens more often than we realize.
@@StrayFrey I think that's why Elise didn't hear them whisper. She was talking for Celine at the time🤣
Took me a wile but addicted to this game now 😊
You and me both! There's just so much to do and explore~
Its a Beautyful Game. GG to finish it. Sky Remastered comes next Fall. Are you playing Trails of cold steel 2,3,4 and so to?
Yes! I was hoping Sky would come out before it was time for me to play CS3, but that's not gonna happen. I just started 2, so the plan is to just keep going in order until Sky comes out. And I agree, it really is a beautiful game. Their attention to detail is insane!
I love how cold steel is mostly just a cozy field trip adventure and then the last chapter it just goes into the extreme. Love your playthrough on this, can't wait for the rest of the series!
They really do dial it up to 100 for this last chapter. I love it though! And thank you so much, CS2 should actually start going up today I think. This series really knows how to pull us in. I'm kind of happy I've waited until so many of the games are already out so I don't have to wait literal years after cliffhangers like this.
around 19:54, yep, start this fight with everyone on 200 cp, use jusis craft to buff everyone, this fight will end before you blink 😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜
Well now we know for the future. I just really thought that resting wouldn't heal CP. I don't know when or where I got that in my head...
Nah, Rean is pretty much the face of the Cold Steel games. CS2 is just the second half of this story arc, so expect to see a lot of these characters again. CS3 however starts a new arc after a longer timeskip and you'll see some new faces join the fellowship. And while you can start CS3 just like this, you'll have much more fun if you have the knowledge from playing Sky and Crossbell. Can't play anything myself rn, because I had surgery on my left eye and the the doctor said I'll have to lay on my back and stare at the ceiling most of the day for a couple of weeks. There goes my hope of finishing P5R before the end of the year.
I'm really hoping the remake of the first sky game comes out before I finish CS2 or at least around that time so I can jump into that game next. I'm tired of not knowing what Estelle, Joshua, and Renne have going on other than what was brought up in Zero and Azure. But I don't really want to buy the original game and play them on steam if I'm just going to buy them again when the remakes come out, you know? And I hope you have a speedy recovery! Get lots of rest. P5R can wait - it's not like they're going to announce P6 anytime soon.
@@StrayFrey Thank you. And I know the game isn't going anywhere, but it's still frustrating to be this close to the end and not able to go the last couple of steps. You won't see much of this in Sky 1. It's mostly worldbuilding and character introductions again and when the actual interesting stuff starts, it tells you: "To be continued!" just like Cold Steel does. I see you've started to upload CS2 videos. Did you think to look for the Active Voice option and set it to free? If the console version even has the option, that is.
@@skyknight0408 No, I forgot to check! I'll do that now. I did figure out I can lock my minimap which is honestly lifechanging.
Really appreciate you uploading the vods
No problem~ Thank you for watching them
I like how you got to 7:13 and were like “I have no clue what that word is. I’m not even gonna try to pronounce it.” Haha
Sometimes it's just not even worth trying 😅
@@StrayFrey Lol, I was hoping to hear how it was pronounced, myself.
i guess now we know where all the missing iron went.
I just love how focused this series is on making everything actually make sense and be connected. They actually put effort and care into explaining much earlier that there was a boatload of missing resources so that the existence of these things would be reasonable. Every time I think about it I just get more impressed by their attention to detail~
Nice. Keep it up
Thank you!
They could've ended it at the dance, but decided to do an even meaner cliffhanger to make sure we come back.
That cliffhanger has been killing me! I hated having to wait so long to start CS2, even if the wait was really necessary... I was also kind of expecting more from this bonding moment? After the impactful bonding moment I got in Azure I guess I was just expecting more. This was cute though.
@@StrayFrey It carries over parts of the bonding level into CS2. Was supposed to do something special for the one you chose to dance with, but it treats everyone you had max bonding with as if you chose them.
@@skyknight0408 Well. That could become awkward...
@@StrayFreyThey just give you an even warmer welcome when you meet them again. My favorite was definitely Fie.
@@skyknight0408 As long as they do my girl justice. I just can't wait to get deeper into the game (and really the series as a whole)!
Love really can change a man. Looks like Patrick is serious about Elise if he's trying that hard to get on Reans good side.
You didn't even talk to Dorothee or go into the fishing club(there was one person in there).
Noooo. How could I miss more time with Dorothee, I love her! I'll just have to imagine something random and yaoi-esque that she would say at this point in time.
I think anything that gives STR should naturally go to Laura to break the damage limit. And do you also think it's a paradox, that Millium can't wear the shoes that have the same name as her, because they're for men only?
I hadn't even thought about it, but that's honestly kind of hilarious. Poor Millium.
It's quite ironic that Millium ORION can't wear ORION BOOTS because they're for men. I wonder if the developers did that intentionally.
around 11:14 two curious things... first... robots or should I say mechas, starts to appear on manga after WWII ended when Japan decided to have their own "industrial revolution" and invested very hard on technology, second... althought we can find mechas on others cultures as well, in Japan normally the mechas are meant to have a human inside it, it´s like that the "core" still needs to be human, what do you think?
That's actually very fascinating. Especially when you compare japanese mecha to say the transformer franchise which is pure machinery. I kind of like the necessity of that human element - human and machine working together to accomplish a goal just sounds better to me than the machine/robot working on its own. Definitely food for thought.
It will be worth it. Those chests are great.
No treasure left behind! Unless I somehow don't see it!
Nooo, if you back now, he'll just respawn!
You forget that Rean can cook alone as well.
It took a lot longer for me to realize this than it should've...
Man I miss playing Genshin. Didn't have enough time to play it sadly. It was so much fun just hated the little time I had to grind and farm.
It's definitely a large time investment. I play every day and I still run out of some materials that I hate farming. But hey! New region could be a good time to dive back in. And don't quote me, but I think there are bonuses for coming back after not playing for at least a month? That might be an event that comes and goes though.
You forgot that the golden Orbment Stations also let you buy and craft stuff. There was no need to go all the way back out. Oh yeah, cooking. Guess you did need to go all the way out after all.
I did still forget I could do the other stuff at the orbment station though. They definitely did it for the player's convenience, but some of the features of these charging stations are so weird. Or they're just really talented.
In CS2 you need 4 shards to make one Zemurian Ore.
Yes, it's CS2 where they fix Fie to counter with gunshots. And they make it that you can unbalance if you crit on counter, so you can get follow up attacks on the enemies turn. They also change the Tauros MQ to apply not only to normal attacks, but Crafts as well(which makes Laura Smash even more onehitkill). Who cares for delay, if there isn't going to be another round? Sadly you'll have to wait for CS3 before they let you jump down ladders and they don't let you do it if it's too high.
Oooh the crit on counter sounds amazing! And we love yet more reasons to keep using Laura and Fie~ And hey, at least they add the ladder feature even if they did put limits on it. You've gotta start somewhere. I'm starting CS2 today, so I'm interested to see what other things have changed.
@@StrayFrey Giving Fie the Wrath Quartz as soon as you get it is a nice way to get some extra hits in and build up BP. If you make her a pure evasion build, she can have more than 100% dodge rate(later in the game). I guess it will take a few weeks before I start seeing CS2 videos pop up here. I hope you have fun playing. I should play more often myself, if I ever want to finish P5R and start the next Trails game. I'm on the ship now and looking for the VIPs, but haven't played for a couple of days. I don't feel like starting the other PC(the gaming one) if I don't have at least 5 hours of time to make some progress. I guess that's the downside of playing these large games.
@@skyknight0408 I haven't decided when I want CS2 to start popping up here. I'm just not sure how much more I want to speed up CS1 vids. But you're in one of my favorite palaces! I loved that one~ It felt so different than the others and I can really appreciate any amount of novelty. And yeah, Persona is definitely a series where you need a solid chunk of time to feel like you've actually accomplished anything.
Detection isn't going to do anything, if the one who has it isn't on the main party. You missed dome chests in the first part of the dungeon already.
So that's where they were. I could've sworn I'd picked up all of the others throughout the game, but I guess I have a habit of removing the one with detection from the party - I think I did the same thing in the Nord Highlands...
Like I said before, larger enemies have bigger hitboxes that reach into the AoE when you target another enemy. If target the big enemy, the small bee sits just outside of the AoE and watches.
Ohhh right, Fie is voiced by the same person as Morgana. No wonder his voice sounded familiar to me.
I am convinced that Cassandra Lee Morris will somehow eventually be in every game/series I play. She's even in Genshin now as Mualani. Not that that's a bad thing! She does a great job~
around 09:53 Rean: NOW, ARE YOU READY TO TACKLE THIS FINAL DUNGEON ? ClassVII: YEAAAHHH !!! Rean: then sit back and wait a few hours while I go outside to get all the preps done Me: ...? ...! ...ohmy, this game raised the bar to an unprecedented level
I wish there'd been cheeky dialogue from the teachers who saw us go in only to come right back out and proceed to just walk around without a care in the world.
People on RUclips dont want to see you grind. if you can cut out the parts you grind the better
They're kind of trying to push Alisa as the canon love interest, but don't fully commit to it, because they still want ro give the players free choice, so all of the options feel half baked. And you're right about Persona being kinda the same. None of the girls feel like they have that kind of relationship with the protagonist. Futaba is a national treasure and must be protected a all costs! But how can you ship Akechi with Haru after the things he did? The guy's just missing a Deathnote to completely turn into Light Yagami! He even looks the same!
There's just some small interactions or things that they say during their social ranks that make me think they'd be cute together. Haru is kind of really intense the more you get to know her even though she seems soft and fluffy. And Akechi is a good egg! I don't know where you are in P5R, so that's all I'll say. Yusuke and Futaba would also be adorable together with all of their little exchanges~
Who needs a Haunted House when the Old Schoolhouse is available all the time?
Playing Metaphor? I have that on my wishlist as well, but it'll probably be years before I play it, because I have too many other games lined up already. Still not finished with P5R and I'd be surprised if I beat it before the end of the year. And I'm not going to play a similar game directly after that. Most likely I'll return to the Trails world and play Daybreak, but who knows if I want something completely different for some time.
I'm having a good time with Metaphor so far. I would definitely not play P5R and Metaphor back to back though. Give yourself a break - and I say that as someone who really enjoys Atlus games. I will say I hope they turn Metaphor into a series like SMT and Persona even if it means I have to wait super long for the next one. That's one of the few good things about playing a few games at the same time though. I'm playing such a wide variety of genres and playstyles that I don't get tired of any one as easily. Still wouldn't play those two back to back though. I feel like I wouldn't be able to stop comparing them to one another if I did it that way.
If your gonna do rpg videoes they camt be 25 min long dude. In this era of streaming you gotta be dropping hour longs for games like this.
I think Patiry might secretly like Machias, but doesn't want to admit it. All she ever talks about is how much she wants ro "punch his stupid face"!
Machias is a magnet for some interesting people. Even Margarita was interested at some point. Good luck to him~
Blade isn't really a TCG, since all decks contain the same number and kind of cards. They'll introduce a real TCG in CS3.
Oooh now I'm interested! I'm sure collecting the cards will be a nightmare though.
@@StrayFrey They give you a very basic deck to start with. Some of the cards you can buy in different shops, others you get for winning against certain people. And if you can beat all opponents, you get a new Master Quartz.
@@skyknight0408 Ooooh that sounds like a lot of fun. The Queen's Blood TCG was my absolute favorite part of FFVII Rebirth, and you collected cards in the same way. Hopefully the game itself will be really enjoyable~
@@StrayFrey Oh, the game itself is like a slightly more simplified version of Magic the Gathering. It's really fun, but some opponents can't be beaten if you don't change up your deck and strategy. Even if you steamrolled everything before, eventually you'll run into a player with a deck that is strong against yours.
Crow just tries to take advantage from Angie being away. If he finds a girl now, there's less chance of her getting stolen away from him by the cool biker chick. Also, that's a Dango, not a Mochi. And now I have the Dango song stuck in my head because I thought about that.
I feel your pain. Every time one of the chests in Zero or Azure referenced a song that was me for at least a whole day. It took me so long to get Paradise City out of my head...
@@StrayFrey Well, the chests in the 3d games don't talk anymore, but now they have song references in the quest names...
@@skyknight0408 I can tell by your "..." that it might not be a good thing lol. I'm now going to pay closer attention to quest names to be on the lookout, but I'm dreading it at the same time.
@@StrayFrey They can be a bit Dadjoke-ish. I think the most obvious one you've encountered so far was "Return to Zender". CS2 will also have some Quest names that reference either song titles or famous lines from a song. Or just a regular pun, those are also still there.
@@skyknight0408 The dad jokes are here to stay... I guess I should start embracing them.
yep, in terms of story telling those guys from falcom responsible for trails are masterminds, I mean, the way they control what where and when they let us know and most important what they don´t let us know is second to none
Truly, truly amazing. I'm so happy I picked this series up again after never quite finishing CS forever ago.
That last comment aged really well...
You could've saved some time making a save in front of the bike after talking to George and not have to run back there every time and go in and out of the engineer building.
I don't kow why the people in the chat are telling you that. The final choice is at the dance after the festival, as far as I know, and the game lets you choose between all characters you have max bonding with.
The internet wasn't the most helpful, but I think you may have needed to spend 1 ticket on the person to get their bonding, otherwise I should have had access to certain people, but the only thing missing was that I didn't use a ticket. Also I think if you use 2 tickets on whoever, you can force their bonding event. Maybe. *I had to edit since I accidentally spoiled my own playthrough. Sorry for being intentionally vague*
@@StrayFrey Ah, that makes sense. I mostly used the tickets to get the bonding up on people who hadn't max yet. That would explain, why the game gave me most of the guys, Laura and Emma. I didn't spend tickets on most of the chars I had already maxed out, now that I think about it. Almost forgot about it since it's been over 3 years already.
I think Machias and Jusis are both too busy with their own club's attractions to read Yaoi with Dorothee.
Boooo. I'll just have to hope Dorothee indoctrinates them in the next game.
If Mint ships it, she will not rest until it becomes reality. You may distract her for a short time, but once she remembers, she'll be back working on it.
I can respect it. Also the ship she's building is absolutely adorable, so more power to her~
That was clearly an error, because it did show the picture when I was playing on PC. Didn't know who Rixia was at the time, because the Crossbell games hadn't come out in the west(and even if they had I wouldn't have known, because this was my introduction to the series). But it's really surprising that HE of all people is a fan of Rixia. Seems you and the vice principal have more in common than you expected.
Very true. I never thought I would see the day when the vice principal was on the right side of history.
Frey the Guardian Tamer, ohmy
Catching this fish really made my hand cramp. Who knew button mashing could be so painful...
Oracion Seis actually originally came from Rave Master. But Hiro Mashima has been recycling it into his other works - Fairy Tail and Edens Zero.
Huh. I'm going to have to go back and re watch/read Rave Master. I remember Plu being in it but that's about it - its been WAY too long since I first saw it.
You already did the hidden fishing quest. There is another hidden quest in this chapter but not on the same day. No, there were multiple pictures in that flashback. One had the heads of the four great houses in it with the Dukes Albarea and Cayenne on the right and two others you hadn't met ingame on the left. By the rules of exclusion one of them had to be Marquis Hyarms and the other Marquis Rogner. But I get that it's hard to remember something that was just brushed over in a narrated summary.
I believe that it happened, but I have no recollection whatsoever. It doesn't help that I'm playing so many games at once. I think my count right now is 6? That sounds right.
@@StrayFrey I can't really do that. If I started a game, I need to finish it before starting something else. Can't focus on more than one long story at a time. Can only do quick games like Tetris or old style "3lifes till gameover" on the side, because they are over in under 30 minutes for me and only reflex training with nothing to really think about...
